Found another spare hour so the head is off. I also ditched the charcoal canister while I was at it. Surprisingly no dramas at all removing the head. Very straight forward, gasket is off too All tucked up till some parts arrive

Might buy 2 just on the off chance With regards to the UK diff, do I need to add anything else? Would I be right in saying they have an oil sensor? Do I just get away with leaving that unplugged? Straight swap kind of thing? If so, how much for the kit (Prop, driveshaft, etc)?

Yeah mate, it's looking a bit thin eh lol. Not half, it's coming off for a meet and greet with good old mr spraycan Not really mate, I'm having an absolute blast to be honest. It's great to get right in amongst all this and get your hands dirty. There isn't really a LOT to go wrong with what I'm doing. I have a manual and I am disciplined in using it (mechanical engineer). There are obviously certain nuances to working with these engines but it's all just a learning curve. To be fair the starter motor is still connected. I reckon I could take the head off, stick the wheels on, fire it into first and blow abz away right now to be honest

If you are buying aftermarket wheels the top hat nuts for the stock wheels will be no use to you.

I doubt you would get 9k for a TT that looked like that to be honest. Probably 8 or lower given the amount of work that would be required to make it nice.

Had an hour or 2 to work on the car today so managed to get the cams out. Once I had started I couldn't figure out why the caps had to be loosened over several passes. After 2 passes they were all finger loose. Of course I followed the manual anyway and just as I was getting ready to remove them the caps "BANG" the cam popped up and showed me why they were done a bit at a time and evenly lol. I absolutely crapped myself but thankfully everything was even so no harm done, I continued using the order in the manual and it came out with ease. I learned my lesson for the 2nd cam so I loosened them all a little bit, in order, then left it for a minute, this time I got a slight POP after a minute or so and then I continued with the order. Phew, what a fun day lol.

Lol, you didn't have to click I was trying to find the thread that original pic came from. It was a car website with loads of CRACKING cars at shows etc. For some reason that guy in the bunny costume was in one of the pictures.

It would be unlikely for the screamer to have the key port. As Barney says there is most likely an external siren in the engine bay, possibly not working? Have a thorough look in good daylight to see what you can find

You can get a decent lookie likey for about £300. Decent fitment and has the under tray bit to help shield the engine/floor of the car.

You have looked in the engine bay, next to the alarm siren I take it? The key often goes into the siren itself.

Definitely looks like an alarm or immobiliser override key. Check your bay for an alarm siren, they often have a key point. If it's an immobiliser you may struggle to find it if the previous owner was clever enough to hide it

Mileage matters more than time. Blasting it around the streets is a world apart from tracking the car though. At the end of the day you won't go wrong, but a lot of people are sold a false sense of needing to change the oil far more often than is actually required. This is both down to scaremongering and 'oneupsmanship' from members and people wanting to sell oil. Opie is one of the most honest companies I have seen. Have a chat with them about it

Given the years between the films I would have expected better. A prequel would go down a storm for example, think of the possibilities there. My cheque better be in the post now!
