  1. Just to be clear, the SMIC isn't 'new' as such, though it is unused/unfitted as should be obvious from the photos. As mentioned in the OP, I bought it ~8 years ago and it's been in storage since. I guess 'like new' is the best description, but seeing 'new' and 'brand new' worried me that perhaps some people had missed the age part. As long as everyone is clear what they're getting, please continue! Edited as I missed the sticky on sales/etiquette. Apologies.
  2. Original post updated, per feedback, to show fins from both side of SMIC.
  3. Of course, I was merely checking people were awake and paying attention. Well done! If it's a show-stopper for anyone I will photo it open from the other side, too.
  4. The 'Side 2' image shows the fins (at least I presume that's what you're referring to?).
  5. OEM 17" Wheels. Reasonable condition on outside, some skuffs as shown. Inners are suffering from what I've seen referred to as both 'oxidisation' and 'corrosion', but presuming the wheels aren't about to fall apart I'm starting with a price of £350, and will adjust based on feedback. Rear tires didn't look too bad, but they've been sat for ~5 years, so I'm treating them as 'scrap' and any use you get out of them, at your own discretion/risk, is a bonus. Includes centres and nuts. Set 1 2 3 4 Inner Centres Chris Wilson SMIC, unused. Sold Bought ~8 years ago for a BPU upgrade that never happened due to 'life'. Packed it away until I could get back around to it, and pretty much forgot about it. I believe I paid £650 for it, so presuming these are still in demand I'll set the start price there and, as above, adjust based on (honest!) feedback. Side 1 Side 2 I'd prefer collection from the TQ12 area, but could look into postage if required, and would at buyers expense.
  6. Loved it, great game. Looking forward to the sequal. Think Gametrailers has the same trailer as above, but more bandwidth.
  7. Newnham Body Repairs in Plympton, Devon. Had a look over a couple other cars he's had a hand in and they look good. Maybe he's just not used to fitting cheap eBay tack (albeit, in this case, 'tack' with near universal praise). Certainly he was looking to blend everything in rather than just bolt it on which seemed to suggest an eye for quality/perfection, but I don't have the money to justify that kind of spraying/blending costs at the moment and the bolted on look (as the factory fit ones are anyway) seems good enough for now. Hmm.
  8. OK, he reckons spoiler is no problem at £160 for paint and fit, but the skirts seem to have got him really confused! He can't seem to see how they fit to the wing, and keeps going on about some 'right-angled' bit that's supposed to go somewhere. Gonna have to take time off work to go and see him tomorrow, but as it seems me as a complete noob is going to have to show him how to fit the kit means I'm rapidly losing confidence in him! (Though I have seen other stuff he's done and it looks good quality.) Anyone got any bodyshop recommendations for the South West!
  9. I'm having a few other parts fitted too - front lip also from Car Mad, and a TRD replica from the KR group buy - but it seemed to be the skirts/spats he singled out as being 'tricky'. This is the first time I've had body kits fitted, so be good to know if he is trying to pull a fast one. Cheers for the answers people, G.
  10. Obviously the quality of the kit impacts the cost a lot, but these are from Car Mad Styling on eBay which had good reviews, and they seemed quite good in my crude 'hold up' test. Trouble is I've dropped them into a body shop and the guy there has had a look over and started doing the old intake of breath through teeth, and muttering that they'd need a lot of work to fit, etc. I don't really know anything about body kits/spraying so would like some rough figures for costs, and what other people had to do to fit so that if he comes back with some huge figure and 3 days of machining to fit I'd have some info to discuss with him. Cheers, Gareth.
  11. Ha ha; "Christ! Sounds like Brian Blessed gargling with wasps!!!" from the YouTube comments. Love it.
  12. Lovely looking car and - from someone who is getting an interest in photography - an awesome photo too!
  13. Capitalisation is important too; it's the difference between "I had to help my Uncle jack off a horse." and "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse."
  14. Renewed with Sky again, will be the 3rd year for me. The original renewal quote wasn't very good (is it ever?) at £841, but after a little phoning around I found a better quote with Admiral (of all people) at £713.15, and then A-Plan at £679. Back to Sky again and they were willing to price-match the A-Plan price so as I'm already with Sky, and have the option of agreed value (+£72.25), I've renewed with them. A little disappointed the original renewal figure wasn't lower as they're obviously still making a profit on the £679 figure, but do understand that they are a business at the end of the day and have to try their best to turn a profit. Still, got a reasonable deal in the end. Typically I deal with (from memory) Luke Tillbrook who has always offered me excellent customer service but he wasn't available this time so I was dealing with Cassie who was also very helpful. Just for comparison, my worst quote was with Lancaster at £1731 with £800 excess! In case it helps anyone; I'm 29. Live in the South West. Drive a TT. Have 5 years (P)NCD, but an accident in 2007. Car has a few minor mods; wheels, skirts, etc.
