  1. I've just uploaded some pictures of my efforts this morning to turn my Supra into a pile of screws and plastic bits. It might be useful to anyone who hasn't done this yet http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/gallery/dash James.
  2. Took my dash apart this morning to fit a stereo. It took a while but was easier than I expected. Anyway, when I put it all back, the only thing that doesn't work is the Drive light on the dash. All the others (L,2,R,N,P) light up fine but D doesn't. Any ideas what I might have done? I'm fairly sure I reconnected everything since everything else works. James.
  3. Isn't it an MOT failure to have disabled the driver's airbag on a car that had one as standard? Not that they would know if the airbag light was disabled. James.
  4. That's going a long way to describe what anti-lag systems do on rally cars. When the driver lifts off the throttle, the ignition is retarded something like 30-40 degrees and a certain amount of air is still allowed in. This, combined with increased fueling at that point, sits around unburned in the cylinder until the exhaust valve opens. The air-fuel mix ignites and forces the turbo to keep spinning instead of stalling. The flames and banging would be pretty cool driving around town but it knackers up the exhaust, so I wouldn't bother doing it to the Supra James.
  5. As it happens, my wipers are pretty bad at high speeds. One strange thing I've noticed is that the drivers side wiper arm cannot be pivotted up very far (when washing the car), as it hits the edge of the bonnet. In fact, I took a chunk of paint off the bonnet by doing just that. Is anyone elses mkiv supra like that, or do I have the wrong wiper arms? James.
