at the risk of getting abused i agree with you, i think lambo doors look quality on the right car when fitted properly. however i have never seen a set fitted properly that dont flap around in the breeze when open, or line up with the rest of the body work when shut. id still like a set but wont ever do it

Sorting out my Gearbox and clutch assembly!
supracharged replied to Sparky's topic in mkiv Technical
is it worth steam cleaning it on the car if your going to remove it anyway? also you might not have to totaly remove the box if its the oil seal (so my meachanic friend says!) this may save you a bit of time/money my list now extends to - Lighter flywheel? (RPS / toms / trd) Change release bearing? - yes Change pilot bearing? Replace/repair gearbox links? - yes Replace gearbox oil seals? - yes Check/replace flywheel bolts? Clutch disc? check spigot ring? -
what to check whilst changing clutch?
supracharged replied to supracharged's topic in mkiv Technical
i think i might have flywheel issues anyway and now ive done around 500 miles on a slipping clutch (taking it easy though) im expecting to have to change it. been under the car now, to get a closer look at it all and it seems i have an oil seal leak on the gearbox to get sorted as well. im going to go with the RPS street max clutch after all the advice it sounds like the one for me. exoect a phone call soon paul:d thanks for the advice all! -

thanks for the advice people. i think ill stay stock with the flywheel then (maybe!) seems as the RPS street max has lasted on your car john i think itll be ok on mine;) just worried ill destroy it in 12 months or so. i caught your last thread about this place tom and was thinking of giving them a try, as they are local and i seem to be modding the car quite a bit recently:d ( i like where i go now however) cheers warren -
what to check whilst changing clutch?
supracharged replied to supracharged's topic in mkiv Technical
does an uprated flywheel really make that much noise then? id like it to be a bit more responsive, what causes the rattle? - is it drive shaft taking up the slack in the rear diff? what clutch do you use john? i dont do much town driving anymore, and i do give my clutch a hard time so didnt want to buy one a have it break to soon. thanks for the advice by the way
