  1. http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/20050116tas2.html I thought I'd seen some horrors in the world of car modifying, but this... /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_shock.gif
  2. I'd buy it back if I could register it in France!
  3. List price here in France (and they don't even have motors) 700€ per pair. I know our VAT at 19.6% is higher than UK, but £300 is quite a price difference! I'm astonished. No wonder Toyota only sold 49 Supras here. Sorry for the thread hijack.
  4. ...including the motors? ... and VAT?
  5. What's the list price for UK spec headlights? European right-dipping 700€ I have a pair of UK glass headlights for sale but shipping would be expensive.
  6. Just hang on a bit longer. As the pound collapses your car becomes better and better value here in France. As it's standard and manual it's just the sort that people here would buy. If you try to sell it to France, point out to any potential buyer that the UK car is homologated and there will be no trouble registering it. We do have something of an economic downturn here though.
  7. Were they built in white for the UK market? If so, are there any left. You can't be that fussy when buying a mkiv Supra to import to France - it really needs to be a UK (or other EU homologated) car.

  10. Hands up who thinks putting wider than standard rims on is a good idea... and then fit them with narrower than standard tyres?
  11. I always torque my wheel nuts... and any other nut/bolt that I have the torque setting for. If you've got a torque wrench, use it and if you've got a socket set but no torque wrench, buy one (and not one of those cheapo bendy bar types) it's an investment in your car.
  12. A very small amount of copperslip on the thread only. The nut is locked by the face that contacts the rim. And use a torque wrench.
  13. The car's got smart red calipers and smart rims so I was surprised to find an assortment of rusty wheel nuts. Rant over...
  14. The nuts on my car are not just different sizes they're different types. Some open, some domed - at least 5 different nuts on the car and they're all a bit crap and rusty. Still, there are more expensive problems to fix! Just my saturday rant!
  15. I bought a decent lowish mileage UK TT recently. Today I went to investigate what I thought was a OSF slow puncture. I discovered that I needed two different wheel spanners to take the wheel off because not all the nuts were the same size! I then checked the other three wheels to find a similar problem. This car had new discs and pads fitted for the previous owner by a well known trader (SE England) on this forum who did various other jobs on the car at the same time - a total spend of nearly £3000. Did they not notice that there was a random selection of wheel nuts. Did they not think it strange that a 21mm and a 19mm socket were needed - as well as the locking nut key. If I had been doing £3000 worth of work on a car and found that, I would have informed the customer and changed the nuts for a proper set. And don't even get me started on the use of spacer/adapters to mess up the wheel offset! These are not Corsas!!!
  16. Standard cars fetch good prices in France. There's a LHD stock car for sale here at 26,500€. Super modified ones can be a problem. French buyers do read this forum!
  17. Yeah, but that stuff doesn't happen in rural France. That's a nifty bit of kit. Will it shut the engine down if the car is moving?
  18. They seem a bit of a con to me. I've just bought a car with a Tracker. The previous owner has just paid the annual subs (this month) and Tracker want me to pay a transfer fee and another year's subscription - £160 in all. Money for old rope. It took me less than a minute to find the "professional" instalation on the car. Should I just chuck it in the bin?
  19. I've just picked one up today - now in 11.
