  1. Are these the grey ones or the yellow ones? I think the grey ones are harder and more expensive than the yellow ones. My TRD Bilsteins failed and I replaced them with Konis from Fennsport. Perfectly good for the road. Also I think the TEIN ones have adustable spring platforms. If so you have endless possibilities to get a bad setup.
  2.  I Went on the wrong day obviously...
  3. Apply some weight (your foot) to the disc/hub then swing out the top mount. You can then lift off the rear mounting from the suspension arm and it comes out easily - well it does on mine. I was serious about the 10 minutes - I've taken both out in 30 including jacking up the car and removing the wheels. But not the first time I did it:(
  4. I had a big copy of my Avatar in the windscreen for ID, but was most notable for having the very dirty Supra! Couldn't make Sunday though - how was it?
  5. Where was everybody? There were about a dozen MkIVs and a few odd ones scattered about the site. I didn't realise so many 300ZXs were made! Lots of FTOs, MR2s, Lexus and even about 6 Toyota Seras... but where were the Supras? I know it was Saturday, but it was a disappointment.
  6. No need to compress the spring to remove the whole unit. Whether you need to compress to remove the top mount, I don't know as I've not got standard springs.
  7. Rear unit has three little (10mm spanner) nuts at the top an one big bolt (19mm spanner) through the suspension arm. About a 10 minute job to remove/replace once the wheel's off.
  8. Compressed air - keep your figers well clear. I did this once with only about 50psi and was very surprised when I looked to discover my fimgers still attached to my hand!
  9. def. somebody who thinks it's OK to change 3 of 4 pads and then tell the customer. "Recommends"? So, is it an option to drive the car away with one(!) seized piston and three new pads. It's not difficult to free a seized piston - it's not like it's rusted in after three years in the sea. Stuck would be a better word. Solution - find someone who knows what thy're doing. Fit standard UK calipers and discs - they're up to the job.
  10. Just an observation, I'm not a geometry expert. Assuming the readings are correct, I would expect a car set up like this to suffer from poor straight-line stability, cause by 0 toe-in (or out) at the front. The front tyres are not laterally loaded when running in a straight line. I might also guess that the (nominally) half degree of camber at the front while having 2 degrees at the back would cause understeer becoming on-the-limit snap oversteer. Does the car turn-in well when you're pressing on, or does it push?
  11. If you use a boost controller, you won't gain power by removing both cats. I took both out and found the car virtually undriveable in the wet. I've since put the middle cat back in. I know this is a contraversial view but... unless all you do is quarter miles in the dry, consider being contraversial. If you want a CW second cat removal pipe, I've got one, less than 1000 miles old - see me at Billing JAE.
  12. I've watched it on the rolling road;)
  13. FaithStalker - it's as easy to sort as refilling the rear screenwasher bottle... where-ever that is:D
  14. Matt - when you say "cured itself" do you mean a self-fixing piece of electronics, or a dodgy contact?
  15. Keep the spoiler active I say:)
  16. I keep sending this to people so here is a help-yourself wiring guide to the unit.
  17. I do have the installation guide for the Dual SBC is anyone needs it.
  18. Monkey - 22's - are you serious, or is this a BradB type wind-up?
  19. Sod's Law says if you drill blind, something will be there! I mounted mine on the back of the rear seat. When I run on the track I have the seat folded and it's easily accessible, normally it's just out of sight in the boot.
  20. Now we're into a whole discussion on under-bonnet temperature differentials. You wouldn't polish the radiator would you?
  21. Liquid Nitrogen is what you want:D One thing that puzzles me is people who polish all the piping between turbos and throttle-body. It may look pretty but it would work better in matt-black (under-bonnet aesthetics not my thing).
  22. Indy Car (or to use the correct term now Champ Car) pop-off valves are supplied by CART to limit the level of boost. They are returned after each session.
  23. Is this a UK spec figure? I completely drained my system, changed calipers and flexi hoses then refilled with AP racing fluid and it took 1 litre, give or take a few mls.
