  1. Have a look on the TRL web site, there's a wiring schematic you can download and a full set of instructions.
  2. I've got 10 wheel studs lying around in the garage - assuming front and back are the same. PM me if you want one. What were you using to torque them?
  3. So, I am the only person running these tyres?
  4. This boost controller was one of the best bits of kit I've bought. 20,000+ miles, no problems and a boost guage with tell-tale built in. Dont take out both cats, just the front one. That way you can still turn it down when it's raining.
  5. Sorry Scooter, I'm not questioning the list, just the relationship between rim offset & caliper clearance. The offset should be standard unless the suspension has been radically reworked. Having said that, I'm coming from a handling point of view and I appreciate that cosmetics are more important if you're building a car for show or looks, rather than performance. The effect of offset is often misunderstood.
  6. It's all over so fast:) First mod - get a boost gauge, then you know what's going on. An air filter/induction kit won't give you anything but noise and a smaller bank balance.
  7. I have 275/35x17 rear tyres and have been using Bridgestone SO1 tyres. Matched with SO3 fronts, the car oversteers in the wet (i know they all do). Does anybody else have this size rear tyre and/or know what other tyres are available in this size.
  8. Once again I have to say that the offset is nothing to do with whether or not the rims will fit over UK brakes (or any other brakes. The offset affects whether the rims will work with the suspension (and bodywork), the spoke shape affects whether the rims will clear the brakes.
  9. Privilege will insure a modded J-spec car no probs.
  10. I'll try and post some pics. Eau Rouge flat? Unless I bin it of course - then I'll go quiet for a while.
  11. Fixed Speed Cameras - Yes, one of the weeklies (Auto Plus?) has a map of them all. Mobile Cameras - Yes, the Gendarmerie use blue or white unmarked cars with digital cameras concealed in them. Look for dark panels next to the rear number plate and dark tinted windows. French police cars also have a different number plate format form the usual nnnn aa nn format. Also pay attention to traffic coming the other way flashing headlights - speed trap ahead. Another to watch out for is a speed trap immeadiately after a speed trap. I've counted over 20 on the same road. You think you've passed the trap and are home and dry - when there's another. You will also find them at night. I don't want to put you off, but keep your eyes open. Last but not least, don't get caught doing 200km/h they can ban you on the spot! TAXI! Autoroute Tolls are generally only at join and exit points, except where the road becomes a city ring-road (free) when you'll find them at the start and end of the free bits. Yes, stop for a coffee and gain time back. Watch what the bikers do. They stop after collecting the ticket from the toll-booth, have a smoke and then thrash off down the road. 98 octane unleaded is available from supermarkets, so you'll never have a problem. Good idea is carry a spare 150€ just in case because on-the-spot fines have to be paid. Finally, expect crowds around your car. Supras are VERY rare in France. My main dealer had never even seen one before I turned up one day... "We're not worthy, we're not worthy" etc.
  12. OOOPS! Never post after a few beers...
  13. Can anybody give me an idea of the cost of a complete respray? - probably std. black (like it is now) - no current body damage.
  14. Nope, but I suspect mine are not standard. I've just never got around to taking them off to look.
  15. I put UK fronts and Goodridge hoses on 18 months ago - I can't fault these barkes. I'm using Portefield R4 Pads - lots of dust and squeel. They will not fade, but they will STOP!! As far as insurance goes, I declared them as a mod but didn't get a premium hike. After all you're less likely to hit the car in front.
  16. Jake - your Toyota dealer needs changing. The anti rattle springs are available separately and they're about £10 a pair. Part no. is 47748. I have a copy of the Toyota UK caliper parts diagram if you want it.
  17. Easter traffic to Dover is the worst in the world - I know, I used to commute on this route. Expect every moron and his unroadworthy caravan to be in your way - allow loads of extra time and think 40 mph. Sorry guys but I can't make it this time, my new house has eaten thousands in the first couple of weeks.
  18. Wez - I haven't driven/raced the track before but have driven the bits that used to be public road, including Eau Rouge - it's awesome. For general Spa info, check out http://www.spa-francorchamps.be/en/index2.html . I suggest you give Goldtrack a call and speak to Melindi. The day is £250, which is a bargain compared to what is on offer in the UK. There is nothing in Britain to compare to Spa.
  19. If you're serious about track day driving, Goldtrack have a Spa day on July 20th. It's open pitlane and no noise limits. This is the Godfather of GP circuits and I've just booked.
  20. Are you guys meeting somewhere en-route for a run up to Nuerburgring. If you see a black J-spec with tatty rims and a JMP plate, that's me (the old bastard).
  21. Soonto... The Customs can do almost anything they like. They have more power than the police. They can kick your door in at 3am without a warrant... AND they can bill you 3 months later. So.. you do have to pay.
  22. The TT Auto is the trickiest car I've driven in the rain and is a knife edge on snow and ice. Get on a dry Silverstone and... where did I put that track-day phone number. You may realise that people on this BBS are biased.
