  1. They all look like average cars. Avoid anthing labelled as "Fully Loaded" WTF does that mean? or 400bhp claims - usually 350bhp-ish so the seller is b***shitting!
  2. Well, sorry guys but I've just put new J-spec discs on the back. I've got new Uks on the front and I use Portefield R4 pads. In absolute terms, the car needs a lot more braking power... but then sometimes I have to drive it on the road!
  3. Toyota made them! They're standard J-spec rears.
  4. When I got back from the Nürburgring I noticed a scraping noise from the brakes. These discs were not cracked when I before I went. Anybody else had this happen? Both sides are the same.
  5. It's not a good idea to hold PAS on full lock, and it will make a noise as described but normally on both locks.
  6. In that case I can recommend Mobil 1 SuperSyn 5W-40. It's half the price in France of the equivalent in England. I use it.
  7. If you only drive in Jersey, anything will do!
  8. I'd get rid of a car that behaved like that!
  9. Toyota have recently reduced the UK disc prices. I bought some 2 weeks ago and they were cheaper than 3 years ago. UK front discs are now cheaper than J-spec back discs!! Ventilated discs cool by the air going from the centre of the disc to to edge. Porterfield pads are very good; you can get them from Whifbitz and Envy etc.
  10. They will probably need regular rebuilds if they are race car units - not ideal for road use.
  11. I've been in contact with Chris already. ta
  12. The reason I ask is Currie Motors asked me why there were so many Supras about but they never saw them in their workshops. I accept dealers are expensive, but for parts I can't fault them - UK or J-spec.
  13. Which Toyota dealer? I've used Currie Motors in Isleworth for parts and would classify them as very helpful. In fact I've never had a problem with any Toyota dealer. Come on - name the guilty party.
  14. If anybody's got a brand new pair... before I contact Toyota.
  15. Apologies if this has been around for a while, but can anybody identify the Ferrari.
  16. Witness the wheels on Porsches 956 & 962 in the group C era (1980s).

    crash

Never hang on to the roll cage like that!
  18. What are these about? I've seen them on a Renault Scenic and a BMW Z3 recently. Must be the most stupid car accessory since jacked-up rears and dummy side-pipes in the 1970s. Can anybody else suggest a more naf thing to do to a car?
  19. Bobbeh, I was very envious of the people from the MSA who had the whole track to themselves (36 cars) on Monday. Yeah, no point going all the way to drive the GP track - same as any other track - but there's a possibility I'm racing there next year:looney:
  20. From the horse's mouth... now I know. Incidentally did you have any problems importing to Germany regarding Type Approval etc?
  21. Would you care to elaborate?
  22. Just found this http://driving.drive-alive.co.uk/driving-in-germany.htm
  23. I've been to the Nürburgring at the weekend and spotted a couple of things on the way. At the German border, coming in from Belgium, there's a sign indicating that there is a national speed limit on the Autobahns now of 130km/h:thumbdown I also spotted several sets of (what looked like) speed cameras between the border and the 'Ring. They are on gantrys across the road and face the oncoming traffic - a camera for each lane. Has anybody else seen these - are they cameras? And does anybody have a definitive answer to "is it the end of fast Autobahn driving?".
  24. Here's a bit of a taster - I love the idea of a taxi in the bus lane.
