  1. I'm told that showers with tv/pc built in are popular in company flats in the city. The pc makes it an extension of the office so while it looks like an expensive luxury, it is in fact a tax-deductable business tool:rolleyes:
  2. A manual is better on track but for road use I'd go auto. Engine braking? - braking is the job of the brakes not the engine.
  3. Had one up the nose - the local anaesthetic was coke! No you don't! Quote form a consultant surgeon I had a few years ago "always bear in mind a general anaesthetic carries a risk of mortality".
  4. A remarkable race. To all those people who say Hayden didn't deserve it, I say remember those races in the mid-season when Hayden was given an experimental clutch which messed his results up! The champion is the rider with the most points at the end of the season - no more, no less - Hayden. I'm not going to debate Rossi, because we all know how good he is - I've been following him since his debut in 125. To all you who watch BBC, get Eurosport, watch 125 and 250 and you'll see racing that beats MotoGP and WSB!
  5. It has been handed over to the two above!
  6. I wrote and still host the page UK Brake upgrade but I'm going to have to take it down. Before I do, does anybody want to host this page - I'll send you all the assets, or you can just grab them if you want an host elswhere. I know this page gets a fair few viewings, but it's upsetting some web stats of mine! PM me... I'll leave it up for another week or so.
  7. If that was according to your speedo, you probably were only a couple over. 10% speedo optimism (why? I don't know) seems to be the norm.
  8. Abuse, bodged repairs/mods and smokey engines. These cars are very tough and very well built, but that doesn't mean somebody hasn't neglected theirs.
  9. A real gem of engineering! And a great use for a Panda...
  10. The fundamental reason for the manual overide (MANU) is to hold a particular gear. Primarily this is to allow you to pull away in 2nd etc. on slipery (such as snow or grass) surfaces. It's not fundamentally there so you can go drag racing.
  11. Have a look at pic 2 and pic 11 here http://www.sixplus.co.uk/suprabrakeswap/
  12. 4 pot and 2 pot (front) and 2 pot 1 pot (rear) are very different and easy to tell apart - use the SEARCH button and all will be revealed.
  13. Manual is better on track because you can hold a gear off throttle.
  14. They don't seem to mean much to us English speakers... are they American terms?
  15. Try: first cat out, second cat in and Blitz Nür Spec R with the baffle in. Quite civilized!
  16. In France it's called the Supra Bi-Turbo.
  17. Yes you will... believe me. BPU is an everyday car!
  18. Feltham Tyre Service near Heathrow did mine. They're just an ordinary decent tyre supplier - you don't need to be a motorsport expert to use a laser wheel alignment system. They did camber, castor and toe on all four wheels - big improvement in handling and tyre wear. The insides of the fronts do wear first even when set up correctly.
  19. Last time I saw that sort of mess was in a 1960s Ford running on 1960s oil. What sort of oil was that engine running on?
  20. Supras are bullet-proof compared to the cars you mention. The engineering is easily up to or better than Porsche. The TT has to be the best bhp per pound spent. I ran mine over 4 years and nothing ever went wrong. It was 13 years old when I sold it - no leaks, no smoke just a fantastic car!
