    Ouch! (F1)

The latest news from Montreal is that Robert Kubica will leave a downtown hospital on Monday -- with no broken bones. Contrary to earlier reports that said the 22-year-old Pole had broken a leg in his horror 280kph crash in the Canadian grand prix, BMW-Sauber team boss Mario Theissen confirmed that Kubica is actually fully intact . /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_shock.gif
  2. Get the suspension geometry set up and some decent tyres then see how it is. There's also more to it than just the make of tyre. I had some new Bridgestones that turned out to have been in the warehouse for ages. They were hard and nasty and wore very quickly.
  3. That's a nice looking car - never seen a LHD Aerotop myself. Welcome.
  4. Can't see any sign of the SMIC. Universal don't break cars. They sell insurance write-offs.
  5. EXTREEEEMLY UNLIKELY - Catalunya was an excellent race.
  6. You can buy J-spec discs from Toyota - they're about £70-£80 each - same as UK discs.
  7. I haven't watched an F1 race in years, but the results do speak for themselves. The best driver in the best car will win races and championships.
  8. Sounds like valve stem oil seals to me - always encouraging to find I diagnosed the same as Chris Wilson!
  9. Robert - it's Toyota T-IV oil and it's a half full 4 litre can. So maybe 2 beers!
  10. I've got half a can of Toyota automatic transmission fluid going. Free (well, a can of beer) if you collect. I'm in east Kent - PM me if you can pick up.
  11. I've got a J-Spec speedo that has the MPH sticker fitted. This is a standard 0-180 scale unit.
  12. I'll be there in the Corvette! Camping at Beausejour. Out on Speedferries 7am on the 14th, back on the 18th. Where's the Friday meet?
  13. Lock Stock is a gem, but Snatch is the one to watch - "Hence the expression, as greedy as a pig".
  14. Handy for the accounts then!
  15. Have you got a Chinese spec Supra?
  16. Pedro - The big issue is that the car will need to be a UK spec, not a Japanese import. I tried to take my Japanese import to France and it was not possible. I'm not sure if Germany is the same but I think so.
  17. Pedro - Buy a UK TT and you'll find importing to Portugual much easier. Some EU countries won't register Jap spec because they have no certificate of conformity. Good Luck Better than my Portuguese:d
  18. If the car is as it says, then the price is good. Low mileage and FSH and UK all add up to value.
  19. Don't want to sound doom and gloom, but interest rates are set to rise again http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articleinvesting.aspx?type=personalFinanceNews&storyID=2007-05-08T081012Z_01_HIL438946_RTRUKOC_0_BRITAIN-BANK-RATES.xml. How many people reading this thread had mortgages when the rate was 13.5%?
  20. That is about the smallest oil leak I've seen. I'd be tempted to clean it up and then keep an eye on it to see how long it takes to reappear. If it's a real problem, then change the gasket if you can DIY.
  21. In 50,000 miles I got through 1 set of UK fronts and in 90,000 miles, 1 set of Jap rears. Nürburgring killed them off!
  22. My TT was only doing 14mpg until I sorted the bodged electrics! I would have thought a N/A should do better than 20mpg (my Corvette does 30mpg and that's a 5.7)
  23. Supra headlights are useless enough without doing that to them. /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_shock.gif
  24. There are clearly a few people on this forum who haven't met Ken Livingstone yet. As for being quiet, on the run you're talking about you'd be hard pushed to hear a Supe with a decent exhaust coming. Hats off to Toyota for putting the R&D into hybrid stuff. I would seriously consider it. But then again what about LPG? It takes the energy from the momentum of the car to charge the battery when you're slowing down.
  25. Ah! You missed a great era... when 65bhp was considered decent and a 5" rim was wide:D Not to worry, I'm sure you can brush up on the 70s by watching UK TV Gold.
