Hi folks, I've had my Supra since last November now and I've only done 4500 miles as I've been using my Scooter for work to keep the mileage down on the Soop (1993 - only 42500 miles!!). Looking at buying a little Mini now for a few hundred quid to get me through winter. I just wondered what the deal is with everyone else with regard to using the Soop as a daily driver? Let's have some feedback!

Yep, I can confirm the freezer trick works (if it is still powering up). Have used it several times. Best to wrap it in a jiffy bag first - most recently I froze a 120GB Maxtor drive for 2 hours and got 30 mins use out of it - enough to get my data off. You will get condensation when you power it back up but I just wiped it every few minutes with kitchen roll! wHIZz

Also gutted to discover this thread tonight. I didn't know Rik peronsally either but I've always had a lasting memory of that DIY paint booth in the garden! - I suspect it will remain with me now for a very long time. ...and that matt black paint job! - Rik......... a man who dared to be different! - I salute you! My thoughts and condolences to Rik's family and friends wHIZz

Hi Tom, Not sure if this will help but I noticed that your Index.htm file has a capital "I" so you must use a capital "I" when typing it in to the address bar e.g. http://www.mysitename.com/Index.htm is different from http://www.mysitename.com/index.htm Trying renaming the Index.htm file you have uploaded so that it has a lower case "I" wHIZz

Is it a civil wedding or church? - I got married in February (civil ceremony) and the background music was the only thing we argued about! We settled on a piper to walk her in to the ceremony then after the vows etc I arranged for the registrar to play a CD I made up the night before - it was flower of scotland by the corries (but an instrumental version), followed by an instrumental of James Blunt's 'You're beautiful' then 'My Girl' 1st dance was Shania Twain - "you're still the one" Worked for us!..... Good luck with the wedding - my advice, try to sit back a few times and take in what is going on - it's over in a flash!

Hi folks - about to start my ICE install but I'm a little apprehensive about disconnecing the battery and how that will afffect my TOAD 606i alarm system? - anything I need to be aware of? Probably a very easy one to answer for most of you Thanks wHIZz

Very nice soop Gatso - mine is oem at the moment but I do like the look of the kit..... As for the pics, pretty good - 3rd one is best and would have been better if you had zoomed in a little - the others suffer a little because you shot into the sun. Not meant as critisim, jsut a couple of tips Keep trying, you will get a wicked shot of that car and I might even use it as my desktop!!

Hi Nige - just to say I saw you too that same day (although didn't know it was you until I found this thread). I saw you when you came onto the Edinburgh city bypass at the gyle, you probably didn't see me but I was coming in the opposite direction in my Black twin turbo - was on my way to Kirkcaldy to buy a car for the mrs. wHIZz

Hi, not been on for a while (been getting married 'n stuff! ) What is the consensus on using the Supra space saver wheel? - I've got aftermarket 18" alloys and if using the space saver is a no-no with 18's I may as well take it out and use the space in the boot for my amps and subs? Any advice? Thanks wHIZz

Careful out there folks...... yes well I knew it would happen - out for a drive today and came round a small roundabout onto a straight so gave it some welly! - roads a bit greasy and the back end twitched to the left!...... on a straight! Well............. absolute gut reaction (no thinking time) cos I caught it and corrected it! The shock lasts about 3 seconds then that old realisation comes in and you starting pis**in yourself laughin! - of course, knowing that it could have gone oh so differently! Done my fair share of motoring over the years but even I can admit when something deserves respect!...... and she will get heaps of it from now on! Drive careful folks!

Glad you got the car at last tichkent and that the roof seems to be holding! I've also got a tempramental dash but it's only one of two buttons that seem to go off. I'm think of doing the blue LED dash conversion anyway so not too bothered You're right about the autobox, is it smooth or what!! By far the easist car to drive I've ever had, I love it. I think you did make a great choice with the aero, and I'll be very jelous when we get to the summer.... but for me it was all about power!, and my insurance wasn't going to be that big an issue so I went for the TT. I'm looking forward to doing the ICE, been a while since I did all that. The infinitys should arrive shortly and I'll first try them with the stock amp, then I'll bypass it with the ISO adaptor thats coming and try them straight from the head unit - Just to see what sounds better until I get a new amp, and/or new head unit. I'll let you know how it goes - my ICE thread is over on the ICE technical forum, titles "where to start" Happy Supra-ing! Cheers wHIZz

Bump - tichkent..... any news? did your get your Aerotop?
-
Yep - I'll second that, already claimed over 4 figures back from 3 banks. Takes a little effort but well worth it!!

Leather interior and SS exhaust sound good Bungy... can't be very cheap though! Tichkent, I was wondering why you hadn't updated us.... so by now you should have the Sup?? - hpoe you got it ok! I am delighted with mine.... it's a real Jekyl and Hyde! - you can drive it sensibly and it's a real good smooth cruiser OR you can sink the boot then ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! Haven't had enough daylight to take pics yet but will get them up soon...... here's my to-do list so far: 1) Replace tailgate rubbers 2) Check back of stereo to see why no sound from rears spkrs 3) Replace door speakers 4) Clean engine bay Check out this site for all your cleaning needs!!: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ Give us a report on your Sup!!!

I just got my Ai606 fitted last week. You can disable the alarm\immob without the fob, you know that right? - you will need your PIN code to do it though - it's on the back of the quick reference card.... do you still have that? HTH wHIZz

Got my Soop today! - picked her up at about 5pm just when the rain started All I can say is WOW! - first stop was petrol station (expect it to be empty tichkent!) then a slow-ish 15 mile drive home while I got used to it. Love it! Then picked a mate up and we put it through it's paces...... To sum it up, my mate said "this is unbelieveably fast!"...... and he drives a 2006 BMW M3! First couple of things noticed..... rattle from tailgate, although I think this is common and there is a fix in the forum somewhere. Also the speakers are mince so need to get posting in the ICE forum!! I'm hoping to get some pics up at the weekend when I can take photos in daylight Tichkent - yours was on the ramp next to mine!! - I saw it dude, and they were working on it! Hope you get it tomorrow! Let the fun begin! wHIZz

Bump - tichkent, any news? I didn't get mine today - it wasn't ready!! Should be getting it tomorrow. Getting excited now!! wHIZz
