    Self MOT

Good point, that could be quite useful. I worked in a garage about 18 years ago, think that was the last time I saw the checklist! Maybe you could email Department for Transport and ask them for the details? - tell them you want it under FOI! wHIZz
  2. I know this has been done to death but I'm trying to find out how my Supra TT 93 Jspec MPG compares with others: Test: 1. Ran the car until the petrol needle was sitting at exactly the middle of the bottom notch on the gauge. 2. Stuck £20 of Super in £1.09pl (approx 18litres) 3. Reset trip counter 4. Drove "conservatively" to work and back over the last few days (13 miles each way). I really only put the foot down twice and the only for a few seconds RESULT - Petrol light came on today, although still 1 notch from bottom one Trip Readout at petrol light = 64 MILES! I make that around 15 MPG - driven very gently! Please vote! wHIZz
  3. Saw you today in the car park - alarm was going mad! (or was that a tactic to get people to look at it ) cos it worked! Car looked excellent though! wHIZz
  4. I did a two day course and learned that wireless network security is a contradiction in terms!!.... wHIZz
  5. Well, almost pretty much 1 year this week that I have had the Soop and it passed an MOT today! - only done around 5000 miles though. Emissions were as follows: Fast Idle test Co2 Vol% 0.17 HC Volppm 12 Lambada 1.018 Natural Idle CO vol% 0.112 As I am involved in a different thread regarding MPG at the moment, I wondered if anyone is able to assess these figures in relation to fuel economy? e.g. would these readings be able to indicate a failing o2 sensor? Any info greatfully received! wHIZz
  6. A lot of the time it is a built-in USB hub to give you more free USB ports. wHIZz

    o2 Sensor

Apologies if this has been done before, but trying doing a search for "o2" - you can't! After seeing another thread in relation to poor MPG I think that I may need to get hold of a new o2 sensor for my 93 J-Spec TT. Although I have seen this helpful explanation of what it is: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35940 I still have a few questions: 1) Is this an easy DIY job? or should I just ask them to do it when it goes in for it's MOT in a few days?- My skill level is that I'm reasonably technical and did do two years as an appentice mechanic (albeit 15 years ago!) before becoming a pen pusher! 2) How long should it take to replace it? 3) The guide above mentions the diagnostics port - now, my computer skills are right up there!, so what do I need to be able to plug in to my port and have a look? hardware\software etc 4) Does anyone want me to ask Nic (Import Pimp) to start another group buy? Cheers wHIZz 1st membership anniversary today!! (and yes, I've renewed of course!)

    14.5mpg

Ditto, just seen this thread and I've been thinking that my MPG is a bit low too. This week i've started using the car for commuting again , done just under 100 miles of sensible driving - for £30! wHIZz
  9. Ah.... thanks - so this is normal then?, I thought it was just mine! . wHIZz
  10. Hi guys.... did a quick search but can't find this issue. My active spoiler - am I right in thinking that you cannot extend it and leave it extended at all times? When I turn my ignition on, I can press the "down" button and hey presto, the spoiler extends! BUT when I start the engine, it retracts again!. If I then press "down" it doesn't go extend. It works fine when on auto mode, at 60 it extends, then at about 40 it retracts! Am I missing someting obvious here? wHIZz
  11. Well thanks a bunch, I just spent over an hour reading the damn thing!!! just kidding.... good find, and excellent read! wHIZz
  12. Just ran down stairs to start taping it.... saw a quick glipse before it moved to a story about Florida!. Maybe it'll go back to ACE later on wHIZz

  20. Yep I think it was! - I remember the reg. I was going to give you a wave but I was in the Freelander and didn't think it would mean much I was kind of swarming around you going over the bridge so you would at least remember "some strange driver on the bridge" - thinking that this thread would then jog your memory! Anyway - car looked awesome wHIZz
  21. I've just done mine in matt black (will be starting a thread soon to show it) and I'm glad I never have to go through scraping that rubber crap off ever again! wHIZz

  23. 'bout £25 a week - but I only use it at weekends Use my scooter for work, otherwise it would be about £100 per week wHIZz
