  1. you dont need to remove the throttle body completely but you will have to remove the bolts and slide it out the way. Unfortunately this is the only way to access the rear plugs
  2. i need one of these as well. i posted on jezzy's 'breaking for spares' thread but didnt get a reply so i guess hes out? If you find out where to get one please post it up on here, even if its just a price from mr T. ps this is not a thread jack
  3. thanks for the replies i was thinking about doing this conversion myself to save a few ££. I just want to find out what im getting myself into! probably wont be until the end of the year anyway. if i do go with the pros, Jody you're the man
  4. thanks for the reply i thought this might be the case but then won't a 6spd m/t ecu be as hard to get hold of as the transmission itself?? I'm sure i read a few people on here have had the conversion and kept their 5spd because there wasn't any 6spds available at the time
  5. i'm planning on dropping a GTE into my SZ down the line (when £ will allow) and just wondered about which ECU I'll have to use if I keep my 5 speed m/t? Thanks
  6. i know i could do this but i just thought i might as well let someone else have a free led conversion and i could start again. As i said it was still a fair bit of effort to do these, and that would go to waste if i ripped it all out again thanks . I probably will do if no one with an active spoiler switch wants 'em
  7. i could do this but tbh i originally wanted them in white anyway but i had a load of green leds & no patience to order white ones. thinking back though it wasnt that much of a quick job and the active spoiler switch was a b****** to get open, so i've decided that i'm only willing to swap with someone if they have the active spoiler switch as well. Cheers
  8. it does vary, but most of the time the delimiter is behind the dials (along with the speed converter ) The cars brain is in the passengers footwell. You need to remove or pull back the carpet, and there will be a plastic cover to take off which hides it
  9. i just did a full led conversion to my dash (see this thread) but i just bought some gauges which are white backlit ...i couldnt live with that. anybody wanna swap their standard heater controls and dials (just the bulb holders from the dials) for these?? As you can see in the pics, i've also done the active spoiler switch so would swap for a standard one of those as well. I guarantee that all the lights work as they're supposed, just in case anyone thinks i cocked up and want to try & f*** up another set I will attempt better pics if anyone wants.
  10. i think the brake test they do on an mot is supposed to stress them a bit i.e. make sure they wont fail in an emergency. Might have caused a caliper to stick as dr_blackman said
  11. had the car off the road for a few days while i sorted out a bit of rust (in the gutter where the top of the boot meets the roof ) and also fitted a speedM8 KMH converter as my last one was about 20 MPH optimistic!! took it for a drive and the speedo definitely seems more accurate judging by the speed of other cars. only thing is the car feels different hard to explain, it sounds different after ~4k revs?? everything else *seems* to be ok, but i just wondered if this could have anything to do with the new converter? thanks. ps its an n/a (atm )
  12. thats because the pads keeps 'em clean
  13. to add to that, i also need a passenger side rear gas strut, mines a bit rusted
  14. any cigarette lighter surrounds (see pic)? or do you only want to sell it complete with the lighter unit? might be interested either way. Thanks
  15. as above, see pic (not of mine though) for some reason half of mine has been broken off i dont know if its attached to the dash or lighter assem., or if its a separate part??
  16. looks good mate btw have you got some sort of textured finish on the part above the dials?
  17. yes...but i only just fitted it to my car sorry
  18. as above, see pic. anybody need this can have it for a £10 incl. p&p
  19. from the pics i think the gel sheet colour looks spot on nice work there! i did the window switch twice because when i tested it the first time nothing happened...i forgot i needed the key in the on position
  20. i should mention that i used Hecklers guide. thanks to him for taking the time to make it http://www.internetwork.org.uk/led/led.htm
  21. the lights on my heater controls stopped working so i decided to do the full led conversion in...green the pics are crap (couldnt get a steady shot in night mode) but it gives an idea to the *slight* difference in colour to stock. what do you lot think?
  22. here it is. mine basically follows on from the TRL one, you should be able to see where (if not let me know and i'll show you ) for the "down" button to work properly it needs to stay down when pushed until the "auto off" button is pressed. to do this just take the back off the switch and remove the spring on the down button side. i put up the TRL diagram as well with a minor correction to it as the original one didnt work for me and I just had to switch over 2 wires. these are the exact diagrams i used to wire my spoiler and mine works perfect. i have to say though that i cant be held responsible for any damage caused should something go wrong. remember to use a fuse! if you do have problems or dont understand the diagram feel free to pm me and i'll try & help
