  1. Should the tray be made of anything particular ?
  2. Is it important to put a tray under the battery ?
  3. Maybe this..........mine was http://www.mkiv.com/faq/faqtt.html#body3
  4. I have felt both the pipes going to the matrix and only one is hot. I guess this means I have a blockage. I have a read a bit on the bbs about flushes and blasting water through the matrix but don't really know where to start. The flushing procedure described here, seems very long for what sounds like a simple job (to me)... http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/coolant_flush/index.html Is there anything I can do with a garden hose ? Any ideas ?
  5. Cheers Pete, the indicators have been relocated to the sidelights for a cleaner look. Also gives considerably better flow to the intercooler. It was done by Andy who used to be on here and owned the car before me. Choice mod imo
  6. Fair enough ! There's one at the other end, but yeah, you got me. That's one
  7. Okay, here you go. Opening myself up to all sorts of abuse ! Main components, battery clamping kit £4.99, misc wood (!) and cables £15, non slip rubber matting (£?). http://www.members.aol.com/gwillson75/battery
  8. Cheers mate and keep us posted.
  9. Yeah, seat belts are gone I haven't weighed my car. The stuff I removed is just what's above, really. Most of the stuff from the rear of the car, apart from the plastic trim, and the carpet. I want to to keep it looking tidy. Still one cat in though. Just for the moment. I was gonna swap my Blitz split rims for some Volks or something, but they don't really weigh any more than stock, which I was surprised at. But I decided they just look tooo good http://www.members.aol.com/gwillson75/lake
  10. Well I did it, and it was well worth it. After taking the rear seat, sub and amp (my heavy aftermarket stuff), spare, tools etc out, the rear tyres were losing traction all the time. It was a bit of a joke really. I was hoping it would help, and it has really made all the difference. Night and day, seriously. I have a toyota battery and it must weigh at least 15kg ! No box or switch at the mo though Will, post pics if I can borrow a cam off a mate.
  11. I'm looking at relocating my battery to the trunk area. Does anyone know of any kits or anything that might help ? I'm reluctant to screw into the floor in the hatch, as I'm sure the fuel tank is around there somewhere:eek:
  12. My car very occasionally, though it used to be more often, would display the red triangle and the check engine light. Only when chillin at 2k for a few secs. Would go away after re-starting. I found that given the top of the dash a slap (while driving) put the lights out, so I guess the're a loose wire, probably in the speedo conversion. No codes were recorded. On ODB1 cars (pre96 I think) you check for codes, by......... http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/techo.htm#ENGINE_CODES But, I don't think you can do this on the facelift Sorry, this is probably all useless to you .........thought I'd still post it though.....just in case

    RLTC Query

I've got Termi's file on a six speed and it's fantastic ! I know when it's working hard (hard cut?) because you can hear the backfiring. RLTC > * !
  14. I went with the 'get your girlfriend to do them up tight'
  15. Cheers Steve doo de doo, nothing to see here.......
  16. Hi, When I did my spark plugs I noticed that the cylinder head cover bolts were loose (!) I think I got the specs but not too sure. I'm not sure what they've done with the units (below). Can anyone confirm that these are 48lb/ft ? Is it important that it's accurate ? Cheers
  17. Mine squeaks. I've fixed it before and it comes back now and then. Mine is behind the little window plate on the gearbox. Theres is a couple of pivot points (?) where the slave cylinder is (?) or something....... so my brother says ! About 3 inches apart, top and bottom, sprayed with wd40. Dunno exactly what I'm doing but it definately works.
  18. Oh right sorry, I should have read it properly. The vb making the link confused me ! Cheers
  19. No screwdriver required ! Just pull hard with your fingertips !
  20. I posted this both here and the US board and apparently NO-ONE had ever heard of such a problem/cure ! But, what happened to me was............. I was getting a stuttering in the power department when flooring it between 2.5k and 4k, at which point it all went smooth again. Happened just about every time. Well, it was the stock traction control, and turning it off did NOT stop it. I took the TRAC fuse out and was all sweet. And I have RLTC now anyways............ Probably not, but gotta be worth a try.
  21. Thanks for all your help steve. I think I am with it now. So, I DO have a HKS cat removal pipe. And I need to buy a "top" or "first" cat removal pipe. I think the root of my confusion is that I'm sure I've seen the HKS pipes called "first" cat removal pipe. Oh, well. I may have just dreamt (?) that ! Thanks again.
  22. Steve I'm still confused about what I have. Is the cat 1 pipe the front pipe ? Is the cat 2 pipe what a hks cat removal pipe replaces ? Thanks
