Thanks for the advice guys and gals I've just had the pleasure of going outside with the gaffer tape to hold the bumper on the car It's well beyond repair, so a new one is really the only way to go. One thing I had noticed is that the Do-Luck bumper (as I understand it) was made to fit with the rest of the Do-Luck kit, hence the not-so-tight fitting of the bumper around the wings. A factory Toyota bumper is not going to look right on my car, but I would prefer a better-fitting bumper than the Do-Luck one I (used) to have. Any suggestions?
-
Hi all, Was having a good day up until about 3:30pm this afternoon when I made contact with the car in front of me . My Do-Luck front bumper took the full impact despite me driving between 10-15mph, I guess this is the price you pay for fibreglass bodykits The front bumper is literally in pieces, it's shattered in the very middle and all the fixings on the left-hand side have broken so it's just hanging on the car My question is, where can I get a new front bumper (not necessarily a Do-Luck, open to suggestions), sprayed and fitted for around the £500 mark? My dad is reckoning around £1500 is more realistic I would appreciate any offers of advice or bumpers for sale Thanks Jez

http://81.149.22.169/misc/Supra-Illustrator.gif That's about 6 hours of work and it only faintly resembles a Supra If on the rare chance anyone wants the AI file, you're more than welcome Jez

Thanks for the comments. Mine is used daily for commuting so reliability is paramount, although I agree that the performance - cost ratio does make the Supra a superb candidate for upgrading.

The only other Supra I've been in is the one owned by gaz6148, which I feel sure is BPU but off the top of my head I recall he's had other modifications done as well. There was quite a lengthy period of time in between him taking me out for a spin and me buying my own that it's impossible for me to compare the two. It sounds definitely like a no-pain no-gain thing, unfortunately whatever disposable income I have seems to disappear very quickly as petrol
-
I had read the BPU article, it's very well put together - but it seems a hell of a lot of trouble and expense to go to for an extra 70-ish bhp. I may be (and probably am) wrong, only I was looking into ways of going BPU bit by bit as opposed to all at once to try and keep costs down a tad.
-
Hi all, I'm looking to push my TT Auto towards BPU in terms of performance, at present it has a Miami GT 3" cat back exhaust and aftermarket air filter, that's all. Without wanting to spend a fortune at once and instead perhaps upgrade over a period of time, what would be the next logical step for me to take in terms of performance upgrades? I was thinking that decatting was the next logical step, but what sort of performance increase could I expect by fitting a decat pipe instead and will I definitely need a FCD or can I run with just the decat pipe on its own whilst funds allow? Jez

If it had a Do-Luck front it was probably me (again). My work office is not far from there - number plate is JEZ **** give us a wave when you next see me

Does anyone have an undertray in one piece that they have spare or don't need anymore? Mine's spontaneously combusted for some reason this afternoon leaving a trail of black plastic and soundproofing for about half a mile Jez

I have a G-Tech performance meter for sale, it's the now-deceased top-of-the-range Competition model which has been freshly upgraded to firmware 4.0, so as well as Drag Race Mode there's also a Road Racer mode It's in mint condition, only used twice and boxed with all accessories, fittings and instructions. Have a look here for more: http://www.gtechpro.com/rr.html Since this is the Competition model, it's running the RR firmware but has a blue lit screen not orange. Looking for £85.00 or roundabouts (not literally ) Jez

Broomfield, about seven or eight miles from Canterbury.

A bit late, but that was me My new plate's JEZ **** so wave if you see me!

Sorry, but I don't see how that can be called perfect fitment. I've got the exactly the same bumper - the sides of the bumper do not fit flush to the side wings, there's a small gap which is not noticeable from far away but up close looks pretty grim Someone tell me why fibreglass bodykits are so expensive? The quality is hardly the same is it (Rant over) Jez

BTTT... Has anyone else got a working rear caliper I can have?
-
Hi all, As per this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=103459 Does anyone have a working or refurbished J-spec rear caliper I can buy or have? It doesn't have to be brand new, but it has to work! It's fairly urgent because my rear offside brakes are smoking Thanks in advance, Jez

I did I did! Do you think it would have anything to do with tuning the ECU or something?
-
Sorry! It's difficult for me to get to - it's one of those bits of the car you have to get a part-time job as a contortionist to get to - but I can't see any writing on it (as yet). Do you know if there is anything as factory that should have an orange fuse at the back of the dash around the steering wheel area? Apologies for not making myself very clear
-
This is what the socket looks like: http://www.offspringtech.com/images/big/COUPL-RJ45.jpg I tried to take a couple of pics on my phone, but it's dark and you'd barely see anything anyway. RJ45 sockets all look the same anyway (I work in network engineering so I've got a fair idea!) No it's not beeping or making any sort of noise, I just can't work out what it is or why it's there.
-
Hi all, Had a closer inspection of something that's obviously been fitted in my car before I bought it - an RJ45 or network point in my car on the passenger side of the dash. I didn't pay much attention to it before because I assumed it was an RJ11 (standard phone jack) and figured it was to hook up some kind of mobile phone to your sound system etc etc. However, on a quick voyage of discovery this afternoon, there appears to be some black box behind my dash around the steering wheel area about 12" x 6" x 6" which has been cable-tied and there are a couple of orange fuses as well. I ran a network test on the point using a packet sniffer and pins 1, 4, 5 and 8 are all connected and return a positive connection. Does anyone have any idea what this is for? Jez

Sorted! Fuse number 23 under the bonnet was blown so replaced it with one of the spares. Thankyou
-
Hi all, Last weekend I took my dash apart to replace the existing Sony CD player with my (much better) Alpine one. I had to undo the majority of all the connectors at the back of the dash panels (as you'd expect), and had great fun trying to get every one back in its' rightful place when I put the thing back together. I'm not sure whether I've not plugged something in or whether I've blown a fuse, but the following is now not working (when it was working fine before): Interior courtesy light Boot light Light ring around ignition Light ring on driver's door (outside) I've downloaded the appropriate wiring diagram but can't seem to make much sense of it. Would I be right in thinking all of the above sits on the same circuit? If this is the case, is there a connector behind the dash that I may have missed or is it more likely that a fuse has blown? Any help would be appreciated Jez

Did you get the fronts tinted as well? Didn't they bring a law out saying you could only tint the rear and the back window?
