  1. Great! So did it come with fitting instructions, or did you just work it out? Also what did you do about the stock bov, i.e. how did you block it off? (if you did at all!) cheers
  2. Just wondering if any of you have had the experience of fitting the above BOV (or any bov for that matter!)? I have just ordered one, which is arriving this week and am wondering whether it is something I could fit myself? I am pretty competent when it comes to this kind of thing, and have changed air intakes, rads, brakes etc. before, but I am in no way a mechanic! Any advice/hints/tips would be appreciated. cheers
  3. Nice one Rich, will give that a go!
  4. I sure did Martin! I know the previours owner who had it installed said he never used it! I am wondering whether its ever been setup or infact the little button may just not be working! although the adj trac ctrl works fine!
  5. Nice one guys! I did give it a try tonight and it doesnt seem to work as Martin suggested! I tried the following several times, but the revs just kept shooting way over 3000! 1. Stop the car. 2. Make sure you are at idle and press the green button. 3. Engage clutch and put into first. 4. Floor the throttle and you should see the revs raise to the preset limit. Usually about 3,000 rpm. 5. Release clutch and ensure you keep the throttle to the floor. If the revs don't seem to limit anywhere then try the process again. You can change this rev limit either by use of the knob and button or a laptop but i don't have the procedure to hand. Any more suggestions? Or will this dat file sort the problem? If any one has a cable and can bring it along to Torque on Sunday, would be much appreciated!
  6. Many thanks for all your advice! Will let you know how I get on tomorrow!
  7. Oh one more thing Martin, do I need to turn it off for normal driving or is it automatic?
  8. Cheers mate, gonna try and find out my 1/4 time on the way home! lol Wish me luck!
  9. Thanks Martin, although I haven't seen the knob you are talking about! I have a green button on my centre console and the adj trac control knob which is near the dash light dimmer! ???

    Rltc

Guys, The supra I recently purchased has the RLTC system, I did not get a manual or any instructions with it, and therefore would like to know if anyone can tell me how the launch control works. Advice/comments appreciated.
  11. I have......! http://www.wave.co.nz/~hksnz/blowoff.html The majority of blow off valves will not show a significant increase in useable power to any turbocharged engine. The HKS SQV will increase power. The reasoning is very simple, most blow off valves are of the kind which blow OPEN under pressure, and at high boost levels these begin to open, which bleeds off boost, forcing the turbocharger to work harder to reach the required boost target. The HKS SQV blows CLOSED and can only be opened by a manifold vacuum signal. This allows a much faster turbo spool rate and decreases turbo compressor output temperatures. The HKS SQV also utilises a dual valve arrangement which allows rapid valve response when only the smaller valve is required and the ability to release large volumes of boost is easily controlled by a larger secondary valve. All HKS SQV kits are type specific and are complete with full instructions and all components required for installation.
  12. I've checked those out on Justins site (£245!), so I could get one sunday, providing he has them in stock!
  13. Gavin, I assumed that a larger BOV would provide a larger exit for excess gases, therefore expelling them more quickly, resulting in a 'slight' performance increase? I also don't have a stock car, I just havent got round to doing this bit yet. rgds
  14. Guys, I currently have a blitz induction kit on my beast, but have recently read a review which claims they are the worst for filtering dust and any other fine particles of crap! Was interested to hear any experiences recommendations you have had with these kits, as I am now looking at changing mine. Also, I have the standard j-spec BOV and am looking to upgrade this to, any recommendations here to, would be appreciated. Rgds Lee
  15. Where? No personal messages!
  16. Yeah we had a good day! Thanks for the info will call him in the morning.
  17. Actually, I should have asked how to I get to it, rather than where is it, as its presumably 'under' the engine! lol
  18. Phil, Sounds like an idea! Wheres that? lol
  19. Guys, Made the stupid mistake of topping up my brake fluid on saturday, and didnt put the bloosy cap back on! :-( The cap is now somewhere between Fareham and Hickstead, probably lying sadly in a gutter somewhere! Just wondered if anyone had one the would sell, or knew of somewhere I could get one quickly? Rgds Lee
  20. Chris, I have a probe line fitted, but have not had the guts to drill the manifold myself, so I would be very interested in you doing mine! Where are you based?
  21. To be honest Terry, its something I saw on the blitz site, and thought it looked good! and assumed it was good for performance. I don't know anything about them, hence the questions!
  22. thanks for the info Syed, will check out the HKS one then!
  23. What do you guys think about the K3T turbo kit from blitz? Does anyone have it? What sort of performance upgrade could I expect? And what would I need to pay?
  24. Had my bonnet up the other day, and the wind got up and blew it around a bit. Now when it's shut there is a 3 or 4 mm gap between the lip and my drivers side headlight. Any tips on how to re-square it, or will i need to take it to a garage? Cheers
  25. http://www.mjdesignsuk.com Thanks Terry
