My old NA was pretty good but the TT was a waste of time in poor weather. Best car I ever drove in snow was a Gen7 Celica, strangely enough. H.

If you can afford it, I would get new facelift lights from Toyota. Wigan Toyota did me a decent deal a few years back but not sure where is best now. H.

Yep. I think electric "seems" to be the best option but I am fascinated by the environmental impacts overall. How are the batteries produced, how do we dispose of them or are we just leaving a nightmare for future generations. I have some vehicles that are not great for the environment but I am doing less than 5000 miles a year in all three of them in total. I am not just looking at what they are, it's how much you use them and where. Both myself and the missus have 2.2D for the daily commute / work so I wonder if electric cars would be cleaner overall for the type of work we do. I will hang on to petrol cars for as long as I can for a weekend jaunt. Interesting times though. H.

Although the budget is low, could you get him a machine polish or paint correction. How about in bluetooth kit for his phone? Grasping at straws here. H.

Solar sail trailers, get that idea patented and registered with Mr Musk. You can also fill up with petrol / diesel in 2 mins. Try that with a dead electric car 100 miles from home.. I won't be taking the plunge anytime soon. Smallest engine we have is a 2.2 Diesel and 3 cars over 3 litres on petrol.... H.

Playing football half five till half six in Preston. Should be home for around 7.10. Depends on the night but we will try and get there for 8pm.

It will be interesting to how this will play out. The national grid in winter is at breaking point on occasions and electricity has to be brought in from other means, hydro, solar etc. The addition of a car outside every house will certainly send us over the edge. This is a long time away and there is also the issue of whether you can actually park your car at home or on the street etc. Charging up and planning is ok but what about emergencies, traffic jams, where you may not get as far as you thought? H.

Sorry for the thread hijack but what was wrong with the E46? The S54 is the same as in my Zed and there ins't anything mentioned on the Z4 forum about recalls. Unless this is pre 2006 when the Z4M was launched. We see a lot of bearing shell issues but generally on cars that have been tracked. Good luck with the sale Bossco. H.

Just pay the insurance to cover if it ever becomes an issue your solicitors should offer this. Our buyers wanted the ins and outs of a cats arse for our old place. I think about £30 covered a multitude of potential issues that will never happen. H.
