  1. So, here we have a custom fit fibreglass bottomed and MDF topped sub enclosure. Originally made for a 12" JL 12w0 with a 1000watt Kenwood mono amp, it should easily house any 12" sub and most amps, with a little alteration. It comes as is, with no sub or amp included, the picture shows it a couple of days ago still installed in my car. Please see my other "for sale" post if you need a Supra to fit this in The blue extension ring is painted in RSP, and may not be required for all subs, was for the JL - as it is huge! It requires the removal of the spare wheel (I used to carry some tyre weld instead) the tool trays and the boot carpet, and sits nearly in line with the old boot floor was, but you gain the space the tools were in either side - so your boot should actually get bigger! It will be coming with me to Suprapod tomorrow, and it is ready to go, so come take a look. There was a fair amount of work in it, so I guess something like £60 would be a reasonable price? I'm hoping it will go tomorrow, so no dibbs on the thread, if you want it come see me tomorrow, if you REALLY want it, drop me a PM with your mobile and I'll drop you a shout when I get there before selling it to someone else...
  2. Well, here goes... with a heavy heart its time to do the dirty deed, and advertise my pride and joy. She's been with me since Christmas 2006, sourced by Colin off here for me, but unfortunately has to go, to make way for a smelly horrible diesel commuter after I was made redundant and had to live off the credit card for 6 months. Unfortunately I now have a long distance round trip, which isn't a nice task to ask of a Supra! So, the normal bits:- MOT till Feb 2010, taxed till end of May 2010. Mileage shows as 88,500, but 60K of that was in kilometres before it was converted by the first UK owner, so that equates to about approximately 65,000-66,000 miles. I'm looking for around £9k, and offers in that area will be considered. She'll be popping up to Santapod tomorrow - probably her last outing with me, so come along and say hi. Look for the bloke with the camera in one hand and cute lil red-head in the other... Or a pretty blue Supra, whichever is easiest to spot. The mod list:- Engine Mods: Stock air box Miami GT SMIC Go faster blue vacuum hoses HKS SSQV Dump Valve HKS FCD AEM Truboost Controller Walbro fuel pump Exhaust: Mongoose Stainless Exhaust 2.5" Whifbitz full decat Drivetrain: Centerforce Dual Friction clutch Standard 6 speed Exterior: Do-Luck Front nose cone Veilside skirts TRD Spoiler Brakes: Standard JSpec brakes Nearly new Jspec front discs Porterfield pads Goodridge braided hoses Dot 5.1 fluid Suspension & Wheels: Tein adjustable suspension Lowered a bit, see above Gab front strut brace 18" TTE GS300 Sport Alloys ICE: JVC KD-LH811 CD Headunit 6.5" Infinity Kappa fronts Price dropped to £8,500
  3. In all seriousness I'm looking at getting a Focus but I "want" the diesel one... I don't suppose its the diesel is it?
  4. Looks like its going to be a great day, but I'm not coming to play now - after some fairly major employment changes I'm looking at selling the Supra and getting a *gasp* diesel. I've been told I was going to Hell, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Anyway, I'll get the ol' girl out for spin tomorrow and see you all there as a spectator. Hopefully I'll have got a suitable replacement by next year.
  5. Come now, where's your team spirit - ohhh, I see, you got the auto model. OK, that's enough baiting for me for tonight
  6. I appreciate you don't want a swarm, you said that last year, but after all sorts of promises from other possible playmates I ended up being the only bike there, and as Santapod won't let you run two wheels against four I don't feel its fair to take up the WHOLE track with one bike, even if my little 1 litre NA did get better times than most of those twin-turbo "ricer" Supras
  7. ohhh, yes, I've been looking forward to this, but also been out of work for six months, so I might have to wait a few weeks to book my spot! So, all this talk of breaking up the sea of Supra's, any more bikes going this year? I'm not going to bring mine again if I've got no-one to play with - not fair on the cars and I was "Billy no-mates" last year! I might be tempted to do the drifting instead, for a bit of a change - will there be peeps there who can teach us novices how to do it as well?
  8. There's my facebook piccy, I think its one of the only ones I have of my good side...
  9. My av is pretty close for me too, though my eyes are a slightly different shade.
  10. Nice, I've just got a new corner tank too, second hand though, and I have to make a lid for it and stuff, so my pics won't be up for a few weeks yet! Nice set-up you have there though, what fishes are you going for?
  11. Bugger, someone put it on an R1, well, that illustrates my point I guess - even if it burns my eyes
  12. hehe - I do think they have a place, yes, as I said, it needs a similarly themed chopper to get away with it, a decent sportsbike wouldn't carry it off. Don't think it would work on a car, unless it was a James Bond or Batmobile replica
  13. My apologies sarcasm doesn't come across well in forums! In all seriousness I think they are cool, not enough "different" things done to exhausts, these only really suit choppers though, or maybe a caterfield
  14. Cool idea, and different, but I would think it would need a "themed" bike as well... like the Orange County Chopper apache bike or something. So, who's going to buy a pair and have them as side exit exhausts on their Supra, like a Viper, that would look sweet as with lambo doors and 21" rims.

    Wtf - lol

Hehe, you don't have to do that - if my semi understanding was correct, then you have a valid point!

Awww, I like pouncing... The two are definitely interconnected though, the "youth" will always make an attempt to obfuscate what they are saying, so the "elders" don’t understand them – gives them a feeling of power! It’s also sometimes a reflection of the person's vocabulary size and understanding. Once you have that language established, you can't help but type in the same style, and vice-versa. Plus there are A LOT of people that type something and hit "post" without first reading it back - that really doesn't help, but does make you answer a thread a lot quicker!!

Well, adnanshah247 did have a point, even if his retort was brief! Yes, you are right there, I was generalising. The general public has not yet come to accept drivel instead of professional/business English - and it will be a sorry time if that day arrives! Just imagine:- A Mars a day 'elps u's keep trippin' Mr Kipling shifts sorted scoff - innit. Yo, Kick back, bosh a KitKat in ur scoffer

hehe - ok, so I do spout a lot of brown stuff - sometimes I even bore myself.

Text speak is rather irritating, but I believe a necessary evil that has been born from an age that cannot type. When I were a wee lad, chat rooms were the big thing, and the only way to hold a conversation was to type. As quite a few people were getting into these hip new "computer" things (damn rich parents) they didn't necessarily know which end of the keyboard to poke to get the magic box to say things for them, so adopted this mutant abomination of shorthand/"poke any key you damn well please" English to enable them to say more than "hello" before everyone else fell asleep. Unfortunately, with the advent of mainstream mobile phones, this has forked off into text speak, and (staying with the PC side of things) "leet" speak. Now we have many people (none of this forum, of course) than have trouble distinguishing the difference between phone/forum/email/msn/talking/day/night/earth/mars/etc and this mutant language has become "accepted" as the way of passing over information. Until we have a USB port in the side of our heads to enable computer input I can't see this changing either, so it is left with us elite few that can press more than six keys within a minute to carry on the dying art of written English. English is the new Latin - a dead language.
  20. I'm really sorry - extenuating circumstances, I wouldn't normally do this, nor would I find it acceptable if it was done to me, I do feel bad. Thank you for being understanding Homer, I'll definately make it to Suprapod, and if I can do anything to be of help for that to make up for leaving this so late just say the word...
  21. From an engineering (and slightly geeky) point of view - very cool!!! Nicely made, solid and seem to fit the spec - impressively done, I like. Definately not the sort of person you'd bring home to help with the babysitting though
  22. As per PM, can you confirm me for a run, and also add a run for Sally - ta!
  23. FWIW I have a Porter Cable too - fantastic device, and effective without screwing anything up. Only downside for me was needing a 110v stepdown converter thing - I just got one of those 240v plant boxes and and of the industrial/builders 3 pin plugs - works a treat. I think I paid £130 odd for the polisher all in, and a scary amount close to £80 for "accessories" such as pads, cutting polish, finishing polish, clay, lube, sealant, wax, etc... Did a reasonable job on the Supra in about 5 hours, and did an absolutely stunning job on our old black Rex over 2 days - it looked gorgeous after I'd finished with it - very rewarding, but time consuming.
  24. Thanks Homer, I'll get back to you with as much notice as possible, depends if we get the damn engine in and running before that weekend, so I should have at least a week's notice... I'm fine not having a particular time slot - I realise I'm messing you about a bit! Hope to see y'all there.
  25. Just in comparision, I have a BPU TT 6 speed and if I drive REASONABLY sensibly (ie, not overtaking EVERY car I see but still annoying a few people and generally "making progress" in a fairly exciting manner) I generally average 20-22mpg. That will be a good mix of town, a roads and motorways. If I do mostly traffic jam/town traffic it generally sinks to 18-20. If I do a long motorway trip and stick to (cough) nearly 70mph I can treat myself to nearly 25mpg!! If I go down to see my parents on a hot sunny day down all the roads I know and love, I have dropped my average to around 14mpg. Fun though. So all in all, if I don't drive like a tw@t but still enjoy myself I'm upset if I don't see 20+mpg
