  1. So are we saying that if you have a UK pump, stick with it, but if you have a Jap pump, ditch it in favour of the Walbro. And you may or may not find that the Walbro is noisy, depending on how lucky you are...

Just read all the HKS posts I could find, I think I should have gone for the purple fins! Damn... So, anyone got any purple fins they want to give me for a beer?
  3. Hi Guys, Looking at getting some bits for BPU in the January sales, and I got onto the Walbro pump debate. Now I was all ready to buy one for £65 from Whifbitz, but after reading a good few of the threads about it, and then this:- http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/fuel_pumps_test_2/index.html ...and then hearing peeps complaining about the noise of Walbro over stock I'm wondering if I might be better staying stock? By the sounds of things I'd be advised to take it all apart and give the filter a damn good clean up and checking all is well, but the stock part sounds like it has a better flow rate and its quieter than the "upgrade" option of a Walbro? I know the UK is more powerful than the J-spec one, but is the J-spec one more powerful than the Walbro (assuming all is running well of course) - Just want someone to set me right, don't mind spending the money if needed, but don't want to spend it if its not going to help and is going to whine constantly in my ear - I have my other half to do that.

Hi Nic, Thanks for the quick response, £100 is a little more than I expected, would you go for £85 as I'm new and you're a generous chap?

Anyone got one going cheap (or going pssst!) for the stock setup? All the ebay ones I find are the hard pipe type to go by the intercooler or intake, and I want the one that just replaces the stock item, like the one Miami GT sell. I'm a bit broke so I fancy a second hand one, any of you guys who have "gone single" got a spare one??

Fingers? I've got every damn thing crossed - and some of its painful. Of course you can tell people Colin, if I am allowed to sing your praises! Seriously, I must admit that CJ has been great, I asked him to find me a rocking horse sh** and he's pulled it out of the bag - he's been fantasic! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him to anyone. Know's his stuff and takes pride in his work - which I think is important, he's also a really nice bloke to boot. Now, about that discount....

Thanks for the greets guys - hope to meet up with some of you soon, I should get my Soop just in time for the frosts - perfect! Perhaps I'll save my 1800bhp single conversion for the Spring... Stupid country.
  19. Greets, you still got a blue hose set left? If so what hoses are in the kit (apologies if its a silly question)

Fully Paid Up New Member! And thanks to the mighty CJ I nearly have a Supra too:cool: I'll update my profile when I know more, but until then I thought I'd pay up and become a proper forum browser! So, a little of my history I guess - myself and my better half are speed freaks. We have a couple of bikes in the garage, a Rex and an MR2 on the drive. We also have a 75% finished v-dub trike - just gotta find the time to finish it. The Rex is thanks to CJ too - we like him! Used to have a Primera GT till a week or so ago too, as the sensible car - given up on that plan now, and satisfying my desire for a Supe! So that's me in a nutshell - dunno what else you wanna know, other than I live in the Reading area and will be happy to come play out with you guys - as long as you are nice and its not raining!

Get a rex and a soup - problem solved! RX7 reliability worries me too, but its a dream car for her - one of those things she's got to try, even if its only for a year...

Thanks guys! Yeah, I know the Prim GT isn't QUITE a Supra, but I've need a bit of a load lugger for a while - hey, at least I didn't get a Mondeo! Prim has done be proud, surprises lots of people when you don't bother slowing down for roundabouts, its just a shame its takes so long to get going!!! Still need a load lugger really, but you only live once, and the Supra does have a boot - kinda. Better half is looking at selling her MR2 as well but she wants an RX7 Gunna be a fun household if it all goes to plan!

Thanks for the welcomes! Colour... tricky.... not white or red.... I have a silver Primera now, so I'd prefer to go from something different. I like the blue, black or gunmetal Supra's.... I guess it depends what is the right price at the right time!! All this talk on colour, its a bit girly, aren't we meant to be talking about manly things like limited slip differentials and brake horsepower and stuff?
