  1. Actually I have three cameras and one on my phone, so Had to sell the other 5 Supra's to buy them all though
  2. Have too! It was a super fast spooling single turbo monster for a while too, full boost from about 2000 rpm! That was until I found the split vacuum hose, now I have converted it back to TT at great personal expense. Its strange, it seems to be faster as a twin turbo, I'm not sure why you lot go for these single turbo conversions
  3. You lot are mean! Good point from Lewis though, club purchases are based on trust. I hope this poor chap does turn out to be a Supra owner, though I think he may well take his membership elsewhere now. I'd be stuffed with you lot, I have a TT and a camera, but its my daily driver, and keeping the Supra in petrol means I can't afford any hovis!!
  4. Had me worried there - you just described my car! Though if you reckon I look mid twenties you must have been the wrong side of the bar! Plus I'm in Berkshire, and I'm polite, so it wasn't me
  5. Sent a little something... I exchanged a couple of words with him on this forum, and the news leaves me with a heavy heart even though I didn't know him well - 34 is a terribly young age, 4 years my senior - he was barely worn in... My deepest condolences to his family and friends, my thoughts are with them, may he rest in peace. Hopefully the club can gather a proper contribution, worthy of his investment and belief in the club, it can do nothing to replace him, but hopefully it will make the next year a bit easier for them all. RIP Rik.
  6. Same for me, its saved me a couple of times in the wet, but I think my grandmother can react quicker most of the time, and she's resting in peace. I turn it off if I know I'm going to be a loon or its sunny. Is there no way to mod it so that snow mod doesn't come on, just the "normal" traction control bit? The other annoying one I've found is if the ABS cuts in too heavily from an emergency stop then the snow mode engages too...

    Boost spikes

The AEM has wastegate open pressure and gain, and yes, I've played with them, but no matter what I set I can't seem to get the peak boost nearer the sustained boost - if you see what I mean. I've just had a thought, what would happen if the line from turbo to boost controller solenoid and back to wastegate was a total of about 50cm long, could that cause this problem?

    Boost spikes

Yep, got the RR in, without the boost controller on it spikes around 1.1 and sustains about 1bar boost.

    Boost spikes

It would be useful to know if it does any damage at least - ideally I want "fix" it as boost spikes are bad! Don't want my tubbies to explode on me!

    Boost spikes

I thought it might be the wastegate pressure setting, but I basically have it at zero now and it still does it!
  11. Hi, I've been searching and can't find a definative answer for this, so here goes:- I have a full decat, and a AEM Truboost controller on stock j-spec tubbies. Now, I know max boost on number two is 1.2bar - but even with my wastegate crack pressure set nice and low, (about .1bar!) I get a max boost of around 1.28bar, but watching the boost gauge it seems to be sustaining around 1.1 - 1.15bar - obviously with a spike of over 1.2 somewhere, but the main bulk of the actual boosting is under 1.2 bar.... now, is that safe? Can I up the boost so the sustained level is nearer 1.2 bar, and I ignore the max boost as it most only happen for an instant??

    Drift Project

Need a trainee driver? Always wanted to learn how to drift, and if I could do it in someone elses car that would be great
  13. Oh ok I'll keep mine to headlights only too then
  14. My boost creeps a bit... .if I intently watch my boost gauge for a 3rd gear pull it will (for example) hover at 1.15bar - then I look at peak boost and its at 1.25bar or something! Anyone else have this prob? More importantly is this a problem for the stock Jspecs? If they sustain boost under 1.2bar but peak a bit above it, is that ok?
  15. I have a blue one with a do luck front and TRD spoiler, and pass by there every so often - give me a flash if you see me!* *that's a flash of the headlights, unless you are a pretty female, then you can flash whatever you like at me

    Oversteer

Just remember he gets through a diff a week...

    Oversteer

The car you are now pointing at...
  18. Geez Jamie, you get through diff's faster than most people on here get through tyres!! Hello, you get through them quicker than some people get through petrol!!!!

    Supra Ladies

That did make me chuckle, needed a laugh, thank you Ewen! Must now get a tissue to wipe the spit from my monitor.
  20. Is she trimming her bush in the garden? -or- Look at the shrubs on that!!! Take your pick...
  21. no-one fancy stepping up to be the drifting instructor then?? Is there an area for that sort of stupidity at this location?
  22. I'd be up for this to, done a couple of track days in a Caterfield, but I can't bring myself to apply the training to the Soop - and I'd love a day to explore it safely. I'd like a go at drifting too, Don't s'pose there is a quiet area in the airfield where this could be set up too? Anyone on here fancy being the instructor? Learning to drift on the roads just sounds like asking for trouble to me - but I'd like to know how to do it and what it feels like. I know what to do, just can't/haven't/won't at the moment
  23. It wasn't a problem before I started on the brakes last weekend, yes there was a very small amount of vibration under heavy braking, but not much at all, I was just being picky. I can't see I damaged the bearing removing the old brakes, and the unknown quantity is the secondhand discs I bought, so my vote goes to them.
