yeah what he said.... I really should have kept the Actuary thing to myself shouldnt i!.. I work in commercial lines and not personal lines (which is the car insurance type of stuff).. if that stops people swearing at me at renewal time!

Ive just tried it... the answer is a broken bucket a wet floor and I cant find the cork.. only kidding.. is the answer the universe implodes as god forgot to think that particular scenario through leaving the the words "Game Over!" eternally hanging in 'nothingness'?? Only kidding again... The cork, the bucket and water all fall at the same rate. There relative positions remain theoretically stable as gravity acts independently on each object of mass in exactly the same way.
  6. sorry... put this in the wrong place (supra chat)... any one know how to move a thread?
  7. Any one an Actuary? If not ,what other kinds of professions are people in? anything interesting?
  8. Hello mate, Just to reiterate what some others have said, if you want power, no doubt about it save up a little more and get a decent TT. Make sure its a well looked after one though, as there is more to go wrong with a TT then compared to an NA - so best to spend that little extra time and money getting your self a good'n. A cheap TT can sometimes (not always though!) be a bit of a false economy. Cant go far wrong of checking the owners club classifieds in that sense - i mean for looked after motors, not false economies!!. However Ive had an NA for the last 3 years and loved it to bits. Not as quick as my New TT [GRIN][/GRIN] but its still amazing fun to drive as the handling and response from a good NA is brilliant. In some ways the Na can be more fun as they are still quick cars but alot more manageable around normal uk roads. Once you start modding (and of course you will if you get a TT..), its my view that you can only go so quick on the roads safely before you need to find a track to get the best out of these lovely machines. Basically get a TT and dont drive it like a muppet.... But if you insist on getting a spectacular looking low mileage incredibly well loved and cared for Na.. mines also sitting in the classified section at the moment looking for a new home. Hope the advice helps. Jas
  9. Hello all, Im selling my Supra Na of 3 years... This car has been an absolute diamond - and is the smoothest running car ive ever owned. Recently picked up a TT after a sixth months search of seeing many many tt's - believe it or not i still enjoy driving the NA as its a great little example. anywho! -enough sentimental jabbering. All the info you need is at the following link if your interested. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Silver-1994-Supra-Mk4-N-A-5-speed-Non-turbo_W0QQitemZ140362515198QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item20ae4202fe The adverts aimed at non supra owners and owners alike so some of the comments like "its a headturner" is relative to what you currently own so dont jump on me for that. Any questions let me know.
  10. Thanks for all your help on this guys really do appriciate it. One more quick question though. Im planning to give it into whifbitz to get the work done but wont be able to get it there untill after xmas. I will need to use the car before then though.. most probably in the rain by the looks of things recently. Is it a bad idea wrapping the gaitor in some plastic sheet to water proof it in the short term? Guess what im asking is does the gaitor serve a more complex function then just protecting the joint from moisture and grime??
  11. currently in between sups. The pic on the left is my NA. recently just picked up a TT. currently in the middle of swapping over loads of bits and bobs to get the TT up to scratch. at the moment there both in bits. hoping to get one atleast back together before the 22nd. havent been to a sup meet in ages. hope theres a good turn out!.
  12. im about 5 mins from grapes.. funny im sure i havnt seen your one around. dont think theres many sups in and around our area. ive been up to whifbits a couple of times all the way at the top of the m25 but really need someone whos knows there sups a bit closer. you going along to ace cafe on the 22nd?
  13. Hello mate... err it wasnt me! - although i am local to hayes. as you probably are too (unless you like visiting tescos up and down the country!) do you know of any decent garages that work on supras around the hayes area? where do you take you motor if it needs work? Jas.
  14. Im a sikh.. i wear a turban. My grandfather together with hundreds of other sikhs fought for this country in WW2. No one quibbled about there turbans then when they were dying for this country, in fact there white christian commanding officers actually made a point of growing there beards and wearing turbans aswell during the time they served with the sikhs. (look up the history if you doubt this). My point is this. you cant make sweeping statements about any group of people based on the actions of one, or even a few. To be honest, if hes claimed that money, hes a bit of a muppet and doesnt sound like much of a sikh- turban or no turban. the importance of wearing a turban is pretty low down on the list of how to practice being a good sikh. For times when it is impractical or dangerouse it can be taken off. Much like stock traction control on my supra its nice to know its there but some times its best to take it off and its pretty useless in wet weather... Youll never going to get rid of people who attempt to take advantage of the system for personal gain- (regardless of ethnicity). but thoses who scour the news looking for examples of why non-white british people dont deserve to be here need to find a more productive use of there time. Now if you dont mind ill get back to help proping up this countries economy by doing my bit as an actuary in the llyods insurance sector (the only real thrieving part of the financial services sector in london at this point in time). In doing so ill continue to pay a shed load of tax pounds to MY government, Ill do it while being proud to be british, and ill do it wearing my turban (which is perfectly practical in an office environment and does wonders enduring freezing temperatures during my commute to work in the mornings!
  15. Thanks guys. Currently half way through my project of modding my new sup. Ill move this to the top of my to do list based on your advice. Much appreciated.
  16. Hi Guys, Recently took my car to get tracking and alignment sorted and the machanic working on the car noticed a huge great hole in what he called the 'Driver side front track rod gaitor'!!.. according to him its an mot failure as it could result in the oils on the joint drying out cuasing all sorts of issues. oh and its not something which is quick to replace. However he did seem very unsure of himself when explaining all this to me... can anyone give me a second oppinion or some advice on this please. i dont know much about this bit of the car and i dont want to book it into a garage and potentially get ripped of.. If it does need replacing, is is something which need doing urgently?? any help would be appreciated. Heres some pics i took of the offending part.
  17. Thanks mate. Im gona give it a shot over the weekend. have the door cards off but wasnt filled with confidence looking at the whole mechanism as it was... cables scare me... im not really sure why... Really appreciate the link aswell mate - nothing like a good shematic!
  18. Hello peeps, anyone know if its an easy job replacing the window motors. Is it neccessary to remove the whole assembly or can the motors be replaced withought messing arround with the rest of the bits and bobs. The motors on my TT are struggling, thinking about swapping them with the ones in my NA. In the middle of a big swap over op between the two motors. both cars are in peices at the moment so any help would be much appreciated!
  19. Fantastic guide and pics. end result looks cracking!
  20. Hello all, Just bought myself a manual silver supra RZ . My first one! used to drive old tank of a bmw (520) so the light zippy 3litre supra is a breath of fresh air.
