  1. Im definately with you on that one.
  2. Hello guys and girls, Have been working on my Supra and have come to a bit of a fork in the road, and i cant seem to decide which way to go! Your assistance please. Bodywork wise my current supra is pretty much the way i want it - bar a bit of spray work and the spats. its currently got some veilside spats on it. (1st pic) I've always intended to change them for some bomex 'wingy' type spats. like my old supra had (last pic). even have purchased a new set ready to go on! However now the veilside ones are starting to grow on me, and bomex ones are starting to look a bit out of place with the look of the rest of the car...im feeling confused and alone - its all quite distressing! so Q is - which ones do you think suit (the spoiler-less) supra? any other suggestions will also be welcomed.... with a luke warm reception.... thanks all, Jas.
  3. You people have knowledge and experience spewing out or every orifice!!... I love it. (apologies for any disturbing mental imagery inadvertently induced...) Hmm ... im liking the sound of an ecu upgrade. im sure ill want to go single at some point. Will the ecu allow me to turn the traction off? Ie does it just sit in place of the stock traction system?? Il start doing some more digging on ecu’s.... right - where’s that search button everyone keeps raving about!
  4. Im not in a single. .. not last time i looked under my hood anyhow! Just the stock twin turbo setup on my supra.. does the solaris ecu not work with a twin setup? if it does may be an idea to get that now instead to allow potential for future upgrade to a single??...
  5. Bump! Must be one surely...
  6. i think given the feed back, im definately having it fitted. should help me put (my modest) power down more cleanly and although i dont really boot the car round corners all that often on the roads, it doesnt sound like a bad safety net to have. thanks guys.
  7. No fair enough homer. although they do seem to compensate the stock margins for wheels and suspension - but by all means ill check out wheels in motion and see if they can improve my setup if you have had experience of felthem and this other place. ill google them. thanks for the advice. im hear to improve my supra not inflate my ego so all (supra related) advice is welcome.
  8. Im a big fan of driving appropriately shall we say on roads. sliding round corners is for track days, not supermarket round-a-bouts in my opinion. Im not yet aquainted with JamieP so ill reserve judgement on that particular observation for now.
  9. Now thats the kind of unashamed enthusiasm i was looking for! thanks for the post mate. Everyones a fantastic driver until they powerslide into a lampost! then it allways something about phantom diesel spills or jittery hicas systems...lol.. (anyone who owns a skyline knows what im talking about!)
  10. Feltham Tyres. (name isnt as impressive as quality of work...) they seem to be the only place in my local area willing/capable of adjusting camber caster and toe. They also have software, which has the stock j-spec setup margins, which can then be adjusted for your particular wheels measurements and suspension height. Im sure other places have this to its just that I haven’t found another yet that appear to know what there talking about!
  11. well the last thing i want to go and do is upset someone with a supra named after a big scary spider.
  12. Had the full geo setup done not to long ago by a very reputable company not to far from me. all adjustable aspects tweeked. improved cornering stability imensely. resulting thrust angle of 0.01. the handlings not to bad. just wondered if an aftermarket unit would help it put the power down more smoothly on the roads.
  13. Kind-of was my thinking on the matter also.... But ill work on my search skills to keep all the 'seen this - discussed that , bought the t-shirt' club oldies happy.
  14. I appear to have possibly given the wrong impression about my driving capabilities! Im not too shabby round a track. track experience in an ac cobra, 6 litre corvette, Lamborghini countach and a diablo. Road experience in a ferrari 360 and a very respectable 650 brake gtr33. not that im name dropping But seriously im no professional driver by a long shot but im fairly experienced over the years in powerful motors. r33 has no problem putting its power down with its 4wd. however even with the much lesser power of my sup it will spin readily - and to be honest im not big on powersliding around round-a-bouts... rather save that for track days- and my sups not a track car. Thanks for the points though guys. very appreciated as ever. How about launch control? any good?
  15. Was waiting for that one... all the previouse threads seem to be pitched more to the tech or setup side of things. i just want some general reviews on driving experience.
  16. Hi guys, Have been pondering the addition of the race logic traction control unit onto my supra. I know its a 'fairly' standard upgrade to sups, but was just wondering what people who have had it installed think of it? Good investment/improvement? My supra's a tt bpu running 1.2 bar on stock turbos - occasionally get the odd bit of spin and snaking in first and second on damp roads when i put my foot down. im obviously not running huge power so will i still feel the benefits of this kind of an upgrade??. - pulled the fuse on my faulty stock traction a while back now so dont really know what to expect of a decent traction control system. Also has anyone got the launch control? is it any good? Was just hoping to get some opinions/ reviews before i went and took the plunge.
  17. Sale agreed. Deposit has been placed. Due to compleat sale in a couple of weeks when the guy comes back off holiday. He was the first person to come and see it!. oh well... on with working on the TT
  18. Good point!. Pretty much as I suspected but reassurance from those in the know goes a long way when you have to part with your hard earned!. Thanks guys.
  19. Hi guys, Quick query... possibly a dumb question but im going to brave it anyway. Is winter a bad time to get some bits on my car resprayed? ie. does this cold weather have an effect on the quality of the finish that can be achieved, or frost have a negative effect on freshly sprayed paint? or is it all down to the quality of work of the resprayer rain or shine?
  20. your right! it is very clean with low miles but seriousely... fair play Mr raven - I'm not in a hurry to sell. although i will consider sensible offers. but no more part exchange offers please!
  21. Just worth a mention, that Im not interested in any part exchanges for other motors - as i seem to be getting a disproportionate amount of part exchange queries!... I take it people are just short of cash because its coming up to xmas!??
  22. Heres mine... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=203864 Ray007 has a nice one also which is similar - higher millage then mine but lower price. Plenty of choice in the classifieds section for that matter with some nice looking Na's. sure you can find something you like.
  23. Had my geo setup done couple of weeks back. cost me 150 squid and you get a nice little diagramatic print out showing that all your vitals are in the green. currently have it framed ontop of the fireplace... Car does feel allot more planted. however dude doing the work leaves it right till the end to tell me ill need to get one of my rubber gaitors changed as its damaged, which will mean redoing the front wheel setup! ... incre-e-bleh!!
