Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in legalisation (or at least de-criminalisation) and I think the Government's missing a trick on the potential income from taxation/duty on it. The medical benefits from it are amazing too. The irony is that the majority of people that are open minded about it and care enough to do something about it are also the same people that can't really be arsed to do anything about it and forget a lot of what they've read.
I don't sign up to the great big conspiracy theory, where the oil companies control everything, we're all sheep, life's a drudgery etc. Fair enough, early propaganda was misleading, but to be fair the authorities of the time were also fairly ignorant of the facts too. We're more enlightened now, and most intelligent people can make their own minds up about what's fact and what's fiction.
Sort of on the same topic, Mr Nice is due out sometime soon, with Rhys Evans as Howard Marks, looking forward to going to see that (with a big pick and mix, popcorn, nachos and coke...) If you've not read the book Benkei, I'd recommend it highly, it's an awesome read. His other book (dope stories) is very interesting too.
