  1. Cheers Nevins I'd thought about taking the shroud to a body shop to get properly plastic welded Scott, but I'm always up for a diy for the craic, if it doesn't work I can take it to someone to sort my mess out lol.
  2. Do you mean stick a piece of plastic to the rear of the crack to reinforce it Nev (like Dave said with the fibreglass)? I've a fan shroud with a couple of cracks that I want to sort out and get fitted, and the plastic weld sounds like it could be what I need. I take it you need to sand it down after to get a flat finish?
  3. That's some job Dave, well done bud! I did my Advan's Simon, like yours the spokes came out so far that it couldn't be machined and it all had to be done by hand. Tape your fingers up, I'd blisters for ages on the tips of all of mine, I don't envy you. A credit card as a sanding 'block' will help you get down into the tight bits. By the way, there's a guy in Bangor that's turning out some decent polishing for very cheap (like £70 or £80 for a set of 4 rims) if you decide you can't be arsed. I can go find his contact details if you're interested bud. (sorry for the hijack Dave)
  4. I'm booked to fly to Liverpool early on Monday with my 9 yr old lad for the match against West Ham, he's done nothing but talk about it for the last month and stupid Ryan Air have said today that they're cancelling everything until Monday afternoon. I'm now booked (but not paid yet just in case) on the ferry to the Isle of Man, and a connecting one from there to Liverpool on Sunday. Ferry fare + additional night in a hotel and no guarantee of getting home means a potentially expensive trip They'd better win lol
  5. A proper polish by a pro (wash, clay, paint cleanser, glaze, orbital buff etc) might do the job for you Jay, bound to be worth asking someone (your local equivalent of Stonkin or Peter Richards). Plenty of detailers will do the stone chips too.
  6. Won't be long now Jamie, it looks magic bud!
  7. If it's because the tyres are rubbing and you're happy with the ride, you could stick with what you've got and get your arches rolled.
  8. It's a trd purity, the holy grail I agree with Abz and Mitchell, I don't think it needs it, but if it's what you're after then have a search for di noc carbon vinyl (both here and google) as it's probably an easy and cheap way of trying it out before getting someone to custom make some carbon ones. Pretty sure it's not something that is on the market already.
  9. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to have the pipework made? Did you go to an exhaust specialist or a machinists?
  10. Second best carpet on the forum
  11. I can't remember the make of them, and I've thrown the packaging out I'm afraid.
  12. Haven't used master bond before but from the description it sounds like the stuff I've heard recommended by a few people Tom. Splitting them's not hard, take it easy on the oven temp though (90-100 deg c for 8-10 minutes is plenty, check them after 5 or 6 minutes, and if they begin to harden when you're splitting them fire them back in for a minute or two). Have you checked the obvious, that the bulb holders are properly seated into their holes and there's no gaps, and that there's sponge bungs in the breather tubes? Polishing is normally only required on the outside of the lense, it's worth taking them to a detailer or body shop and asking them to wetsand them with a very fine grit, then machine polish with compound, they'll come up like new. Edit - Supraloopy is the trader/hobbiest that was doing them.
  13. Heckler (see post 4 of this thread) does it on an exchange basis Andre, he was away recently if I remember rightly so may not be able to do it immediately.
  14. Thanks again for all the replies guys, got it sorted today (took all of 30 seconds, I feel a bit stupid for asking now!). For anyone that's interested and for the benefit of future searches on the topic, I was able to get it off using Rob's suggestion, simple really - I hammered on a socket over the outside of the nut then used a brace to remove it. Managed to get it off without damaging the stud or powder coating at all too.
  15. There's a couple of nice designs on cafe press too (the profile one and the carbon one), but they're larger 'bumper stickers', they might be worth trying to see if they can do them any smaller as well sir. http://www.cafepress.co.uk/+supra+bumper-stickers
  16. Would have to be a deceptacon Batman logo is cheesy, but would fit with the car. Likwidart might not be a bad idea, I'm sure they could do the 'T' in a smaller size to fit?
  17. Is it ideas for the design/logo that you're after bud, or ideas where to get them?
  18. Is that a price sticker of E84.99 on the box? That's a huge amount of money for the worst mirrors I've ever set eyes on amigo!
  19. Stupid time of year for it to happen too, it'll be Wednesday before I can get anything anyways. I'll look up the ultralites, ta! The problem with sockets is that there's not a lot of room to work with as the recess for the nut is very narrow Rob. I'll check though on the off chance that there's one that will be slim enough to fit, cheers. I'd love the volks, they're very nice!
  20. I'm resigned to the fact that I'm probably going to need to get the wheel powdercoated again after I get the nut off. Do you mean something to tap into it to try to break it John? Would i be able to remove it more easily if it's broken into pieces or is that just going to make it worse? Cheers Chris, but the key's just turning freely as the crack has made it wider, if I hit it it's probably going to break. Did you drill it out yourself Andy, or if not I don't suppose you watched them doing it bud? If so, can you describe what you/they did please to give me a bit of an idea? Not enough research I guess Martin, they weren't cheap ones and I spent money on them getting them anodised too, I just assumed they would be better.
  21. I have a bit of a problem with my nuts I've got a set of aluminium light weight nuts and when I went to remove a wheel today I discovered that one of the nuts has cracked/split and I can't get it off. They're internal drive nuts, and I've tried the 'key' as well as a slightly larger bit but it's not happening. I also tried a vice grip on it to hold it 'closed' whilst trying to remove it but that's not working either. I've done a search and found some info on welding them to get them off but I'm not sure if this can be done on aluminium nuts? I've also seen references to drilling them out, has anyone done this and would it be possible to post a 'step by step' how to please? Ta very much!
