1. Agree - as far as a 'work around' to keep you out of trouble if stopped by the police you might be ok, but if (heaven forbid) something was to happen I would say your insurance company wouldn't cover you.
2. Had a set of these on my 6no, loved them!
3. I started this thread with an 'if I ever won the lottery', I didn't, but the money from the sale of my supra meant I could import this from California due into Felixstowe in a couple of weeks, can't wait!
4. Don't overthink it, go ahead and buy it, best thing you'll ever do!! Worst case scenario if you can't keep up with the maintenance costs sell it, chances are you'll make money on it anyway with the way prices seem to be going.
5. Very nice bud, the look meaty, suits it
6. You'll be stancing it next week with some stretched tyres too Dunk! Any pics of the new rims?

Headlight Refurb

Is it just that the lenses have gone cloudy/yellow Mac, or is the chrome peeling on the inserts? If it's just yellowing it really is easy, although much much easier if you have a machine polisher - I generally have mine done once a year by a body shop (for buttons, doesn't take them long). Process is wetsand with a very fine grit paper until they go white, then hit with the polisher and a buffing compound. 5 minutes each light and they come up like new. If the chrome is peeling then they need to be split to correct them, I've done this quite a few times and it's not difficult, the bit that you need to really pay attention to is making sure that they're properly sealed when put back together...and not melting them in the oven obvs
8. Put a deposit on this on Friday long wait now for it to arrive from California!
9. Cheers guys I'm going to miss you when I'm gone! Mine's the metal pulley so I've ordered the bearing, should be sorted next couple of days it's defo the bearing in the pulley Harry but thanks.
10. Cheers Cam meant to say mine’s a na, was that for na or tt bud? If tt, anyone any idea if the two are the same size please?
11. Anyone know if it’s possible to buy just the bearing for a fan belt tensioner assembly please? I’ve got the beginning of a squeak from the fan belt, the tensioner itself is fine but there is play in the bearing. I can get the tensioner but it’s £110 inc vat but was hoping I’d be able to just replace the bearing. Thanks
12. mmm...not sure I'd agree - I drove for many years with the 2 pot/j-specs before swapping for a set of ls400 calipers and the difference is night and day, it was only when I swapped them that I realised how poor the 2 pots were. On top of that, I was forever getting the 2 pots either refurbed or replacing parts as they were a real pain in the arse for seizing or sticking (even though my supras have always been daily drivers). I haven't had to 'fix' anything with the ls400 calipers.
13. That'll be mine Si, I'll pm you my address if you want to just return it to me? If another one turns up just send it back to me too
14. You can get a caliper refurb kit from Toyota for around £40 that should help
15. That would be cool Al, there's a white one for sale that was at Kilbroney last year as far as I know, would be good to see some pics to see if it's the same one
16. It's staying local Craig, Foggy bought one local to me very similar to mine about a year ago, it's the son of the guy that sold his to Foggy lol. He always wanted his dad's car, so going to a good home I got £7.5k for it Ric, I think I could have probably got £8k for it but I know the guy and it's a hassle free sale. lol Kevin see ye!! I'm on the hunt for a 1st gen celica next...
17. Sale agreed, have about a month left with her end of an era, I've been driving Supra's daily for 12 years+ and with the prices the way they're going I'm not sure I'll own another.
18. I had one fitted to my last Supra, it was a perfect fit bud and didn't require any messing at all, straight paint and fit skirts and spats were just as good too. Mine was one of the very first that Paul sold though, probably about 10 years ago.
19. as long as the snow works at Christmas! I see Dunk's name there too, can't be many left from those days.
20. I thought it had always been the law, just that more effort was going to be made to enforce it? Either way, it's been the law in NI for years and as our testing system is different (we can't go to a garage for an mot, it is carried out in a govt testing centre) we don't get away with it. I used to swap mine out for MOT but got fed up fannying around (not that it's much effort, but my mot is mid-winter and I feel the cold now that I'm old ) and just replaced them with Osram nightbreakers - still nowhere near as bright as HID's, but way better than the standard bulbs.
21. If it's wind deflectors I've been thinking about doing this too, would be interested to hear the price if that's what you're doing Mike
22. Hope you're including some of your own Ellis, be a shame not to have it in there
23. Not hanging about you sticking with red bud?
24. Deep breath...NEVER thought I'd see the day that I'd be asking this question Can I get an opinion on the value of my car please? I have been thinking about selling in order to fund a gen1 celica (ta23) but wasn't really going to do anything about it until the Spring. I met a guy over the weekend who is interested in my car and I'm not sure what to ask for it. Spec is: facelift n/a auto in 6no with a touch over 100k miles meticulously serviced (daily driver) with a big service done 3 or 4 months ago SSR SP1's Rocketbunny carbon spoiler Active lip spoiler Blitz Nur-spec LS400 front caliper conversion Tein coilovers gen7 celica steering wheel leather seats kenwood double din, sub, amps, speakers etc bodywork is mint, don't think there's even a stone chip on it.
