  1. I’d paint the rear bumper the right colour if I was going to add £2.5k to the price
  2. lol, yes I think I am to be honest dunk. why did you not stick with the polished lip? Exaclty Delboy! I still cant believe I did it. What did you do to your wheels? They are 5 spokes, I cant upload pics for some reason. It just looks rubbish because the polished aluminium is brighter than the anodising. I’m think about polishing the whole lip as its only about 10mm deep. The only thing that worries me is it’ll then be unprotected and water etc would get under the remaining anodising
  3. To be honest, I never knew they were anodised. It was only until Ibrar at speedwells told me that I know. I thought they were painted black in the centres, the lip was polished, and they were clear coated. I’m happy to have the wheel redone but I cannot find anyone who will anodise the polished lip. They are a 2 piece wheel but they arent split rims. I’d be laughing if they were as a replacement rim is only £120 from works. The wheels are only 2 months old so I dont really want to go messing arohnd with the other 3, just want this 1 fixed to match the rest. Just annoys me a bit that Ive spent alot of money with works and they only offer 2 very expensive options to repair a tiny bit of damage, and noone else wants to touch them.
  4. Hi all. Can anyone please help me before I loose my mind! I ran out of ralent parking on saturday and for the first time in my life Ive managed to curb a wheel. Just my luck that it would be one of my shiney new works wheels Ive flattened the damage out, it was only a minor graze, but apparently these wheels are anodised, so you can now see where Ive polished the lip and where the anodising finishes. I’ve spoke to many wheel places today (including Ibrar, thanks for your help buddy) but so far I have 2 options. new wheel at £600 or new barrel for £380. seems a bit extreme for a 10” graze. surely there must be a cheaper alternative?
  5. ok sheefa, good idea. Ive used their contact form on their website. Thats a good point peter. I remember when my local garage caught one of my old wheels about 8 years ago, I phoned everywhere and there were only 2 places everyone used for the diamond cutting on a lathe. That was a place in exeter and one in london. Ive found about 3 within a 30 mile radius so far and I havent looked that hard.
  6. Hi all. Does anyone know if Ibrar is still around? Ive got a polished rim that needs a bit of tlc and it doesnt look like hes been on here for a while, or on the traders section of speedwells. Many thanks, John
  7. I'll take one of these when they arrive please
  8. are those the sizes you are using jellybean? Alex has said that I would need to get a small stretch on the tyres to stop them from rubbing with an offset of 35 front and rear on a 9.5J and 10.5J wheel
  9. im wondering if I need a dehumidifier in the air chamber aswell? the problem is the cold air coming into the garage just forms condensation, making everything on the car damp, especially all my polished bits in the engine bay. http://www.carcovershop.co.uk/airchamber-protection.asp I'm looking at these as they have built in fans which move filtered air arpund the car without anything touching it.
  10. Thanks for the info jellybean, that makes interesting reading Your car is very nice by the way! Hahaha, to be honest, the reason I'm buying new wheels is because of Mr Wilson! He is unimpressed with my 19" wheels so Ive decided to take the plunge and go down to 18's, I'm just not a fan of the lexus wheels as they have no dish, so thought a set of expensive works wheels would be the next best thing
  11. Alex at driftworks is recommending 9.5j et35 with a 235/40/18 on the front and 10.5j et35 with a 275/35/18 on the rear. My only problem now is how big is the dish going to be one the rears? Has anyone on here got works meister s1r's in 10.5 j's?
  12. thanks for your advice buddy, yes his car does look awesome. As much as I'd want to copy his sizes, I dont need tyres that big, I'm only bpu, and the prices for tyres that wide is crazy!!!
  13. awesome! cheers for the info buddy, I will look into that. I dont have that kind of money at the moment and it sounds like something I could do myself next year when I have more time. I think an air chamber or a carcoon is going to be the quickest and simplest fix for this winter
  14. wow thats impressive, I'm nowhere near that figure:( What suspension do you use? and how much is it lowered by?
  15. thanks chris. those wheels fit perfect. your car looks amazing by the way! Your wheels are the 3 piece s1' and I'm looking at the 2 piece s1' so I wonder if the fitment would be different? I was hoping to get a bigger dish on the rears if possible
  16. chris, you are an absolute legend! do you have any pics of them on your car please? I would never have thought you could get wheels that wide on a almost stock bodied supra, they are massive! are your arches not flared at all? the lips on mine have literally just been rolled upwards, they havent been hit flat or anything.
  17. good point! I currently have 8.5js on the front and 9.5js on the rear, but could I get 9js on the front and 10js on the rear?
  18. Hello everyone, I'm looking at buying a set of work meister s1r but have no idea what size and offset to go for. I currently have a set of 19's but want to change to 18's in an effort to improve the ride quality. I have rolled arches and chris wilson fast road bilsteins which have lowered the car about 25mm. I want quite an aggresive offset but obviously dont want them to rub if I'm going to spend so much money on wheels! Any help would be greatly appreciated
  19. Ive recently bought my first house which has a detached double garage. Unfortunately it is only a prefab, and although it appears to be well made and of good quality, does appear to suffer a bit from being cold and damp. I'm planning on ply lining the roof and putting some insulation in, then painting the floors and walls and fitting some decent draft excluders to the doors. Unfortunately the other half has insisted I spend all my time on decorating the house instead of the garage!!!!! Winter is looming and I'm running out of time so have been looking at an air chamber as an alternative to keep the supra safe and dry. Carcoon and airflow uk seem to be the main suppliers of these in the uk. I'm just wondering if anyone else uses or has used one and if they are any good as they are quite expensive at nearly £600 for a supra sized one! Many thanks, John
  20. ok pete, sounds like a plan! I will contact Joyce first to see if she will still offer us the same deal.
  21. I would be interested in an indoor one if we could get the same sort of deal?
  22. I'm still interested as I was thinking of painting it anyway. Can you post some pics of the damage please?
  23. I'll take this please if you will post it?
