  1. Matt, Its Andy. You bought the car from me in Preston a couple of years ago. I'm, so sorry to hear of your loss. I can't believe what I'm reading or seeing. It was so weird when I saw a post on Pistonheads describing the car and each spec I was thinking, mine had that, mine had that. Then, when I saw the pictures, my heart sank. I am really really sorry. Is there anything I can do. I assume the insurance will cover it as it was stolen. I had a Cossie once that was stolen and then found 3 days later in a written off state and they paid me good money back for it. If you need to contact me, I'll PM my email to you.
  2. My experience is that without a restrictor ring, you will probable be Ok in this weather (and anything over 10 degrees C). When it starts getting colder, especially freezing you will probably see at least a 0.2bar increase and a trip to CW may be in order to save your spinners popping !!!
  3. Hi Kev, hope your well. Don't mean to rub it in but I've just had my local garage do a cambelt change and an MOT last Friday. I told them they will have to replace my second cat before the emissions test so left it in the boot. They picked up my car from my house in the morning, changed the Cambelt, MOT'd it and drove it back to my house so it was on my drive when I got back from work. They said they they didn't replace the de-cat pipe, they just "Got it through". All in £168. Very impressed. Hope yours is sorted soon, never been one for Toyota Dealers.

  6. Thanks guys, just had a look at the pics and it seems like I could locate it easily enough (and have had the dash out before so am not scared to do that). My only concern is finding the conversion unit used on my car as it was not done with TRL's kit (I assume). Will I have a similar box to the DSC that I need to locate the output of the speed converted so that I can feed it into the cruise. I assume I cut the purple wire and feed the connector with the new signal. Sorry if I'm talking crap, I may have misunderstood the instructions.

  8. I was just thinking of when I put my original cat pipe back on (and assuming it reduces my boost), I might as well sell the HKS pipe and was wondering if I have the UK market to sell to as well.
  9. My 2nd replacement pipe is from HKS and was brought for my JSpec car. Will it fit a UK car or are they different.

  11. I suppose if it doesn't work, I've not lost anything coz the MOT needs it anyway. I assume my local tyre and exhaust place will fit a restrictor ring, if Chris posts one off to me? I'll do it this weekend and let you know how it goes.
  12. During these colder months, I am overboosting sometimes and could do with a restrictor ring to calm things down. My thought is that because my MOT is only a couple of months away, I will be putting my cat pipe back on (small 2nd Cat) to get it through. What do you think about getting someone to put it on now for me instead of getting a restrictor ring. Will it bring the boost down a bit because of the built in CAT restriction. Might save me a bob or too and the hassle of a visit to shropshire. Sorry for sounding tight

  15. If the size of the restrictor is fine during this weather for 1.2bar spot on, in the summer time is it likely to only get to, say 1.0 or 1.1 because of the air temperature?
  16. Sounds like a powersteering pump. When mine went the other month, it made the engine stall because it seized up and if you started it and kept it running with your right foot, the belt would just slip and give off white smoke.

  18. If you are not sorted yet, try Trevor Pridham at Toyota Celica Breakers. They got me a power steering pump at a fifth of the price from Toyota and shipped it next day for a tenner. Number is 01579 383879 or After Hours 01579 362762 Based in Cornwall. Hope this helps

  20. You should be able to get F1's for about £450 all in a set. We all know that they are very important so don't (for the sake a few quid) compromise.
  21. Goodyear F1 GSD-3's seem one of the top choices. I have them and they are great in the wet and in the dry. Only expect 7-10k out of them though, depending on your driving style.
  22. When I got my Supra earlier in the year it had badly worn insides to the front tyres. I went to a few places to get the 4 wheel alignment done but every refused to do it or didn't have the equipment. Went to Toyota in the end and paid £65+vat to have it done. New tyres that are on now are not doing this again so can assume that the alignment was at fault.
  23. Not that I know much but from my experience, I'll agree with IanC. It sounds like your gear changes are taking place just when the first turbo is pre-spooling the second and there is always a noticable power drop whilst this happens.
  24. Just out of curiosity, can I assume that changing plugs on a TT is easy. Just that my Dad has been speaking to a guy down the pub who has a Supra and he was told that he was trying to change the plugs on it and could not work out how to get at or change the last two. I assumed it was a NA so told my dad to give him the link to the pages earlier in this thread but apparenly it is a UK spec car. I have never changed my plugs myself or indeed watched anyone else do it but not heard of anyone having difficulties. Anyone know what he may be on about.
