  1. lol ok List updated cheers again Nic - I gget the feeling that this list is gonna get very expensive....
  2. Cheers Nic... Really? I thought the TT was tunable to around 500 on stock turbos??? I think a couple of people have been exagerating then does anyone know if there's a major difference between the five and six speed bokes? (apart from the obvious) performance, reliability etc?
  3. ah, cheers for the advice dudes I've contacted Jezz so will wait and see what he says but I think I'll split the work into two sections as you've reccomended... getting the engine swapped and running and then perhaps pusing BPU upwards towards 500?
  4. it's really just a wish list at the moment so I need to factor all the cost in including BPU so I can plan when to do the work. One thing I was thinking about was buying a manual TT and using it as a donor - getting both engines re-built and swapping everything over so I end up with a re-built n/a to re-sell at the end as well Is this do-able?
  5. OK guys, I'm finally in a financial position where I can seriously start thinking about my project My plan is to do a engine and gearbox swap into my Aerotop so I'm looking for some advice. As I'm having all this work done it seems only sensible to go BPU at the same time and need some advice as to what I can expect... I'm obviously going to need a twin turbo engine, manual gearbox and possibly a TT manual wiring loom but other than that I need some serious educating? please could people advise what else I'd need and perhaps recommend garages to do the work? I'll add a shopping list to this post as the thread goes on so people can see what I'm planning p.s. (I'm in Cambridgeshire) ------------------------------ Updated Shopping List Stage 1 - Engine Swap TT engine - re-built 6 speed Manual Gearbox + wirring loom? Brakes - Springs - Dampers - Engine Mounts - Transmission Mounts - FMIC - manual TT ECU - Stage 2 - BPU Decat Pipes - Restrictor Ring / Boost Controller - (depending on donor) Cat Back Exhaust - (would a NurSpec do?) Fuel Cut Defender - New Fuel Pump - Iridium IK22 plugs - Boost Gauge - AFR guage -
  6. I need to get a new set of chromed nuts mine are a year old and have corroded really badly... my locking wheel nuts are still looking shiny and new... anyone know where to get some chromed ones from?
  7. What's the deal with the tickets this time? are there any cheap advance ones?
  8. They're circular but with a swirly patern which matches the bit I've lost... got them from Halfrauds when I got my new wheels....
  9. Is this the 'easy out' tool I've heard so much about? I only resurect the thread as I've lost my locking wheel nut adapter when I changed the rear brakes!!! whoops... has anyone ever actually used this tool?
  10. I went with Chris Wilsons Fast Road pads on my J-Spec n/a and very happy with them No dust and good performance so far... good value as well....
  11. Def go for M4RK RZ's Sils they're a hundred times better IMHO ahh, cheers I wondered what happened to that... Yeah, I'm going to Pod Mark are you?
  12. I've now emailed the company asking for my money back as it's been nearly 3 months since I placed the order!!! doubt I'll see that again...
  13. Hello and Welcome to the club have fun...
  14. I think it's a Tapier type thing not a hippo... snakes need plenty of time to rest to digest something like that, they will regurgitate food to get away quicker... prob what happened...
  15. ah, I think I remember you telling me that back in Jan
  16. Your not ***KUI are you by chance Supra Pilot??? If so I saw ur car on ur drive this weekend... up the road opposite the station? had a 4x4 on the drive too... I've been in Stortford quite a lot recently as my gf lives there...
  17. ahha, I think that'll have been me then I'd been at my girlfriends that weekend so was on my way to work I don't think i'd actually polished her that weekend but thanks... I don't remember seeing any sups... what were you driving?
  18. I'm planning on regreasing my nr side front caliper today as the car only just passed the MOT because of the front brake balance. I changed the rear discs and pads a couple of weeks ago but am just wondering if the front will be any easier to take apart??? Rob
  19. Hi Matt Nice to meet you Matt hope you have fun at the ring tomorrow. I'm gonna try and organize a local meet at some point soon as there are a fair few Supras in our area now. Keep in touch mate and enjoy the car... lovely motor Rob

    Rear pads

I just put new pads on mine and very happy with them so far, got them from Chris Wilson - very helpful chappy too
  23. As you can see the discs were pretty well worn... I undid the two smaller bolts to remove the first bit of the calliper 14mm socket I think - Easy Removing the second part of the calliper was more tricky... I needed a longer 17mm socket as the ones I had didn't leave enough room to work around the suspension - Once off it was all copper greased up so it floats nicely... I didn't bother with the hand brake shoe adjuster and went with the 'wack it with a hammer approach' which worked a treat Once the new disc was on I pushed back the pistons re-assembled the calliper and fitted the pads and - Finnished
