  1. hot water supply is seperate to the boiler hot water, so flushing chemicals will not get into the tap hot water. deffo sounds like a scalled heat exchanger, if the boiler is on but the water it not hot (luke warm) then id say the flow switch is fine, this switch is what tells the boiler to fire up when the tap is open. If the tap is on but the boiler is not then yeh flow switch is a possability. You can try reducing the flow at the tap and see if the water gets hotter for longer, What this does is keep the water in the heat excahnger a little longer so that the heated boiler water has more time to get through the scale and transfer its heat to the 'vein' next to it which is carrying the tap hot water. Personally i would get rid of this boiler as there have been 2 deaths due to CO poisoning from this boiler. what is the GC number of the boiler (xx-xxx-xx) tis on a data badge somwhere, i cna then give you a rough price for the heat excahnger
  2. ta, must admit, looked there first but didnt search properly for the ram.

  4. thought i would have a go at sorting out the flashing O/D and TRC lights today that have come on since i put the aristo polished TB on. To check i reconnected the TRC and sensor to my original TB and started the engine, warning lights all gone, great i thought. So investigated thsi area on the new TB and found that the butterfly was not closing, as it did on the original one, aha this is my problem i thought. So looking at the aristo motor it seems to be turning the wrong way, so i remove my original one from the TB and plug this in. same thing happens. So i try adding my original TRC sensor but no differnece. i tried the arsito motor and sensor on my orginal TB and all works ok. Bothe sensors and motors work perfectly on the original TB when plugged in, but both do not work on the aristo TB I just cant figure out why the motor turns the wrong way. help

  12. nope, although i did start to do that before the bench grinder came along, that really is a looooooooooooooot of work, at leat 100 times the effort of using a grinder. I do use however a B&D finger sander to make light work of casting marks on things like teh turbo pipes, and for the battery clamp and rad clamps due to the black finish on these and being a harder material.
  13. basically colsoop advised me on a 3 stage mehtod, using a grey, green and blue compound, first mop is a hard sisal mop, second is a softer stictched jobbie and the final is a loose mop thing. something like these http://www.merlinabrasives.com/polishingkits.html give colsoop a PM, he can advise and sell you the same kit i got from him..
  14. the bench grinder is some old one that i havent been able to find a spec on, its a Wolf, 3000 rpm. the mops and compounds were from Colsoop. lol who knows, who knows eh..
