  1. Lovely, superb attention to detail. Great looking car, would love to see a build thread on it.
  2. Yeah , really enjoyed Equalizer. Quite Taken/Bourne-esk in his protectiveness of certain people. Some clever parts and gadgets used, worth a watch. Hurtling towards 30k, you know it gets reset to 0.
  3. I really enjoyed this. Wasn't expecting much, but thought it had plenty of good scares and managed to avoid most scary movie stereotypes. The first 'jump' caused one girl in the cinema to let out a scream, which in turn made everyone else start laughing.
  4. Now gone. Soon to be for sale as mint for 15k. :-p Yes, 2002 was the last year of production. the only possible sticking point would be the mileage which could be a bit suspect as the wear on the seats and engine bay dirt. However the engine bay dirt could have been caused by removing the active spoiler and under-tray to fit the "uprated" intercooler.
  5. First of all, this is simply not true. Please show me where you can get a 2002 S2000 for £2000? The cheapest I've seen is £5000. Having owned both, if you like the look and drive of the S2000 then it could be a worth while swap. They are easily sold every spring time. Personally I found the lack of low down torque frustrating and the motorway cruise at 4000rpm wasn't great, especially considering it's a 6 speed. Doesn't have anywhere near the same shove in the back as a TT supra, but that's to be expected. But they are good cars, parts aren't particularly expensive, they have excellent reliability, the electric roof is great once you cut the speed sensor wire going to the control module to allow you to put the roof down while moving. Seats are comfy and the driving position is good. I'd probably have another if it came up for a good price. Mind you, I'd also say the same about a supra.
  6. Actually I think that might be for moving it back and forward, sorry. That's the usual issue with the electric seats. As for the back of the seat, try checking the electrical connections under the seat. After that, I'd go back to my first suggestion, but the easiest way will be to remove the seats first, there are bolts at each corner of the seat underneath. Slide the seat all the way forward for easy access to the bolts. Good luck let us know how you get on. As a last resort, replacement cloth OEM seats are very cheap and I'm sure someone local will have some.
  7. I believe you can adjust it with a ratchet if you remove the plastic from the side.
  8. It's a positive thing, basically saying look how good a car you can get for a thousand pound. Shedding on there is keeping old cars usually with a large petrol engine going for a while, then get rid of them when they are too expensive to repair. Basically instead of treating a new Corsa as a white good, why not have an older/faster/comfier/better looking car at a much reduced price and replace it as often as you like. Old V8 German stuff usually gets them going, that or an MX5.
  9. The price comments are a tricky one, as I'm sure some people would get away with making comments and others wouldn't. If it's justified in either case then I think there's a place for it. I don't like seeing anyone over paying for a car. One thing I'd like to stop is other people putting up very positive comments about a car as they've seen it once or know the owner. Several times I've seen this, after the car is sold the buyer then starts a thread with several issues they have found on the car which someone has described as 'mint'. I'd say unless the positive comments are coming from a trader that has actually worked on the car, then they hold no weight at all and should be deleted. How else would a potential buyer know the comments are genuine and not someone just talking up a car they have seen once. I'm not talking about "nice car" or "looks in great condition" type comments, I'm thinking more of "I've seen this and it's totally mint, nothing to worry about, owner is a good guy". I think there are only a handful of Supras I'd describe as mint in this country, I've certainly never owned or seen one.
  10. Values are up in the summer as usual, more demand than supply. Honestly, if your car doesn't sell within the first month, it's overpriced, simple. Like Mr Wilson, if I've decided I'm selling a car, I want it gone as soon as possible so that I can move on. I've sold two SZ-R manuals for a combined price of less than 3.5k. I think many people have rose tinted view of the Supra(as I do) and would like to think it's appreciating. But honestly, without being a very good OEM example that's had a serious amount of OEM parts replaced, chances are it's not appreciating in value. The other issue is that there are far more poor examples out there than good ones. So many damaged(but not recorded), needing several replacement OEM parts, not having regular maintenance carried out(a 20 year old Supra should be on it's fifth cam belt now, how may can honestly say this is the case?) and just general poor condition of body kits and paint. If I was in the market for 'a keeper', I can't think of a single supra for sale currently that I would view. With the majority of Supras(90%+) for sale having likely been clocked due to the blinkered perception that if it's under 100k then it's probably okay, and if it's over 100k then it's past it. It leaves the market in a pretty poor state in all honestly. I'm not having a bash at Supra values, but I do believe there are plenty of people desperate for values to rise significantly and it's just not going to happen.
  11. Inferno's supra, no doubt about it. The most complete build we'll ever see and it'll never be repeated. New OEM parts throughout, and every aspect of the interior, engine bay, wheels, tyres, brakes and exterior are all superb.   12. It's now reported that 1 in 20 cars in the UK have had mileage "corrected"(clocked essentially). This figure is significantly higher in imports, I'd put it at over 90% of imports(this would certainly be true for supras). Go in with your eyes open, the old trick of proclaiming miles are km is often sighted as well. Check engine bay, pedals, steering wheel, gear knob/selector, handbrake, dash and seats. If these are worn it's a good indicator that it's done more than its indicated mileage. Also don't base your decision on mileage, go by condition & oem parts replaced.
  13. It's a clocked NA auto with a badly fitting and damaged body kit. It's got visible rust on the arches and looks generally tired, to put it politely.
  14. 8k! For a cat C car that's been stood for 6 years that's had a cheap blow over in 'matt' colour. Wouldn't touch it unless it was going for a three figure sum.
  15. Yup, the pipe would probably have fitted fine when it was oem length, but now he's added in a section to add the dump valve it's too long. But the oem recirc valve is still in place and doesn't seem to be blocked off either. Dread to think what other bodges you would find on that car.

  17. That's because it hasn't. Worn handbrake and from what's visible in the pictures, a seriously worn steering wheel. These things don't happen in cars with that low mileage. I'd be willing to bet the pedal rubbers are well worn as well. It's the basics of checking any car over to make sure everything adds up, but it seems people will ignore all of this to get the spec they want. It's also worth mentioning that the OEM cloth seats wear extremely well and rarely show their mileage/usage, unlike leather seats.

  19. Nice supra, but your rear spats don't line up properly.   20. Could have saved you some time if I'd have seen you post earlier. Utter dross. Bold statement there, thought it was okay myself, really struggled with it early on. And certainly wouldn't watch it again. Have you watched The Sopranos? Best TV series I've ever watched, depth of characters, plot, twists, violence and the occasional laugh, absolutely superb. Just about to finish the whole lot for a second time. Ted 2 out next year, first one was great. I really enjoyed Pain & Gain, the rock was excellent in it; Girl: "You look like s**t" The Rock(after snorting more coke): "Really, 'cause I feel like I look great"
  21. Try phoning your current insurer, most will let you add another car to the policy for 14 days, not the whole month like you need but it's a start. Usually its a fixed price around £50. But that's still much cheaper than the short term insurance policies on their own. Worth a try.
  22. Genuine LOL moment in the film. But totally agree, worst of the three by a mile. Not helped by being a 12A, really hate the number of movies being ruined but reducing them down to a 12A. Cut-away at the crucial moments, reduced blood and gore, never see anyone being killed directly and only allowed one F-bomb per movie. Honestly I'm glad it leaked, for selling out and making it a 12A.
  23. I'd value this one at scrap value only. Nice engine bay that's been chopped away by what looks like an axe. A front mounted intercooler for show. And the standard "105k miles" yet it looks like it been to the moon and back with the second set of seats and steering wheel that are both worn through.
  24. I take it the dust is free but the air for the front tyre isn't.
