1. Be sure to give Geo his birthday bumps guys. I heard he is 40 this year.
2. Personally, I would wait and you will get a TT6 for £7000-7500 no problem. Despite what is banded about on here, saying you "need" 9-10k for a TT6. You will get one as long as you are quick enough to beat the trade and are willing to travel.
3. If you are going to go to the trouble of "making" the car, ie. an aero six speed. Then I would low ball this guy an offer of 4k or less(as that is about all it's worth IMO) then you will have 2k to find a clean N/A or rolling shell and 1k left to have all the good parts(TT engine, six speed Box, recaros etc) transferred.
4. Gives it a very US style front end, which looks nice and clean. I'd definitely fit the facelift front indicators though(with chrome bulbs), especially after seeing the pictures above.
5. It's been around since before the cave-men, but it still makes me laugh: A couple is in bed sleeping when there’s a rat-a-tat-tat on the door. The husband rolls over and looks at the clock, and it’s half past 3 in the morning.” I’m not getting out of bed at this time,” he thinks, and rolls over. Then, a louder knock follows. So he drags himself out of bed, goes downstairs, opens the door, and there’s a man standing there. It didn’t take the homeowner long to realize the man was drunk. “Hi there,” slurs the stranger, “Can you give me a push?” “No, get lost. It’s half past three and I was in bed,” says the man as he slams the door. He goes back up to bed and tell his wife what happened and she says, “That wasn’t very nice of you. Remember that night we broke down in the pouring rain on the way to pick the kids up from the baby-sitter and you had to knock on that man’s house to get us started again? What would have happened if he’d told us to get lost?” “But the guy was drunk,” says the husband. “It doesn’t matter,” says the wife.” He needs our help and it would be the Christian thing to help him.” So the husband gets out of bed again, gets dressed, and goes downstairs. He opens the door, and not being able to see the stranger anywhere, He shouts, “Hey, do you still want a push?” And he hears a voice cry out, “Yeah, please.” So, still being unable to see the stranger he shouts, “Where are you?” The drunk replies, “Over here, on the swing.”
6. I assume it will be similar to this guide: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?31633-How-To-Fit-facelift-front-indicators&highlight=indicator
7. R http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?99917-One-for-all-us-techie-geeks&highlight=Boyfriend+Husband Appreciate the effort to give us some Friday funnies, but you aren't having much luck with the reposts today.
8. You reposted your own thread! http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?248634-BBQ-Etiquette&highlight=Etiquette Spelt it correctly the first time though.
9. I hear Crail has a fantastic surface. And you don't get away with very much at Knockhill, and when they do set it up for drag racing, they do it up the hill on the main straight. Ayrshire is it folks, group buy on Cat 1 Cliffords anyone
10. Would be more than three hours for anybody up near Aberdeen.
11. Yes, but I'm pretty sure it's still at the planning stage, and they have had an objection from a nearby company. Link to thread on Driftworks where one of the guys has had an e-mail from Jim Crossan of Nobel Racepark Looks like they are looking for people in the local area to contact their local representative, to support the plans. Might be an idea for anyone in the local area to do just that. Would be great for Scotland to have another venue, especially from a drag race/drift point of view.
12. Yup, a large boaby would of been the order of the day, had it been mine, and my pals got anywhere near it. Nice stance on the wee five.
13. Good point, turns out I've been writing it wrong.
14. Might want to change the title to include the work "come" Before this quickly moves to NWS section with peoples hilarious answers.
15. I've also e-mailed, but if Animal worked with you guys before, I don't want to step on anybody's toes.
16. My girlfriend just got a new Twinair. Road tax is £0! Surprisingly nippy little car, circa 10s to 60. Also, I'm pretty sure the Fiat 500 shares the same platform as the new Ka. She has a Twinair + so it has all the toys, electric everything, climate control unit, black leather seats, blue and me, matt black alloys. Excuse the rubbish phone picture, but couldn't see the screen when it was taken. All in, it's an excellent little car. I even quite like driving it! Makes a really distinctive growl when you get up the rev range.
17. Why don't you ask to become the new tester/supervisor if that's was/is a higher paying job? Or better yet, ask to become an engineer manager if one doesn't already exist. This role would then incorporate everything you are currently doing. It's worth a mention to your boss, even if he dismisses it, you will hopefully have planted the seed. Plus it shows you have ambition.
18. Fair enough, I'm genuinely surprised there are 90 of 160(originally?) UK manuals left on the road & in this country.
19. Out of interest: Where does this information come from?
20. It's a T6, which leads me to believe that it used to be an facelift N/A with a 6 speed box that someone has done a N/A-T conversion on. If I had to guess.
21. Just wait for the inevitable rise in fuel costs this year, there will be plenty for sale. Also this isn't the best time of year to sell a car, give it a couple of months.
22. How about the latest Archos G9 80(8 inch) or 101(10.1 inch) due for release on the first of March. New model has 1.5GHZ dual core processor & 1GB ram. I've got the old version and think it is fantastic: Easy drag and drop files, good file organiser as standard, HDMI output, remote control via android phone. Full Google certification(full market etc) plus you can run any other app store you like. Excellent with media, can stream direct of any NAS box or PC. Full flash support and will run the latest firmware: ICS. Did use it every day, but tends to get borrowed a lot now, as it instantly starts up and connects to WIFI(as someone can't be bothered to switch their laptop on:p) I've also heard manages to run & download torrents, if that's your thing. edit: It also has it's own built in stand that folds away flush, which I didn't think I would use but now it gets used daily(great idea). The memory is also easily upgradable via micro SD card slot(managed to get a 32GB micro SD card for mine for £17.99). Funny how certain manufacturers will charge £££'s extra for the same upgrade! It can also be 3G enabled by using a 3G usb stick which also sits flush in the back. Certainly worth having a play about with one, see how you get on with it.
