  1. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?329307-autotrader-black-vvti Discussion about the car. At that budget I'd be looking for a very clean 98+ TT6. You could also source a nice single turbo if big power is the goal.
  2. Got a link? I can't find anything about this and is the first time I've ever heard of it.
  3. Picture 6 in the advert gives it away, the bumper/headlight and front wing don't line up. You can even see the white tab underneath the headlight that you shouldn't be able to see. The steering wheel also looks extremely new, which would suggest the airbag went off and a new wheel has been sourced. Great catch though, but I'm sure someone out there won't be as vigilant.
  4. I'm wondering if the boot release has been pulled and then boot not opened, same as the bonnet pins have been opened. But then why not show the interior shots of the car, which appears to be an RZ-S due to the lack of Recaros. With confirmation of the wings being resprayed, and it having a replacement bumper and bonnet(on an otherwise oem car), it has all the hallmarks of a front end shunt. That claimed mileage is averaging less than 2k miles a year, seriously? And they already can't find the paperwork, how convenient. People need to open their eyes when considering these cars nowadays and ideally take someone along who knows them inside out.
  5. That's about 20MPG. I regularly get 25mpg out of mine(Stage one, 05 STI) over a tank, worked out using petrol receipts and mileage covered. Town driving or a heavy right foot will bring it down to 20mpg easily though. I've managed 27mpg over a tank a couple of times, but it's far too boring in a car like that. GLWTS, loving the Type R.
  6. Great effort doing this all yourself on an old BM. Would have been tempted for a bigger engine myself, maybe a 323/325/328. Although my E36 compact knowledge isn't great so it might not even of came with these engines. Should be a lot of fun though, and will be a great car to learn in as you won't be worried about a few drift scars.
  7. The MOT ran out 12th of May 2015, so I'd guess it's been sitting since then as it's currently SORN. Also a car in use will rarely start growing green moss/mould. Wouldn't worry about it being clocked, I'd say the majority of imports have been, how else would you explain the extraordinary low mileage on almost all Supras for sale? Quick survey on Pistonheads suggests only 2 of the 29 Supras for sale have over 100k miles. And those are both UK cars which should have a traceable history. Every other one conveniently has less than 100k miles. Most owners just prefer to take it at face value rather than accept the inevitable truth. Exactly wear items have been replaced(steering wheel) and the gear shifter looks worn through. One thing the cloth supra seats do very well is that they wear excellently, even 150k cloth seats can still look as new. But the big give away on this one is the engine bay, I must have looked at hundreds of supra engine bays(in real life and online) and you can tell just by the level of dirt if the mileage is likely to be true or not. I'd also suggest the previous MOT advisories and failures which include leaking exhaust and several suspension components also lends weight to he fact it's done a considerable mileage. I've owned Supras with 155k(250000+km), 125k, and 105k and all three of them had cleaner engine bays. Then there's the fact it was MOT'd on the 22nd of March 2013 at 60261miles and then MOT'd again on 13th May 2014 at 60260 miles.
  8. Well done for getting that price for it. I personally think it's worth a grand, if that. It's in horrendous condition, has been clocked and is missing lots of parts. Has no MOT and has been sitting for a while. Few years ago this would have been scrapped.
  9. Looks bad-ass. Can just imagine people seeing this homing in when they check their rear view mirror. GTFOMW!
  10. Yup, crap driver. He'd of binned it on the first corner in a rwd car. He obviously never realised what was causing the lift off oversteer, as he was totally surprised by it each time it happened. Looked like the stability control saved him on a few occasions, as he totally let off the power rather than keep it on to correct it. His lack of any heel-toe really is really annoying, no mechanical sympathy at all.

    Mini TV Review

Haha, I'm afraid so. Found BB never really got going, you say it was a slow burner, but I felt it was full of filler episodes to pad out each series. I got the different aspects of symbolism and metaphorical references mirroring the main character. Plane crash, a fly and a pink bunny rabbit come to mind. I get the escapism (IMO) that this is a normal/accessible family and could easily be happening in any similar town. The normal family man turning into a crazed one, consumed with greed so much so that it leads to his eventual downfall. The greater risks and liberties he takes with his friends and family. I was persuaded to watch BB, gave up and was persuaded to keep going. I'd never watch it again put it that way The mention of it building up is right, they certainly finished every series with a big episode to convince the audience it was a good series but 9 dull episodes where nothing much happens leading up to a budget blowing finale doesn't count as a good series for me. Anyway I'm sure there are far worse series than BB, but they don't have legions of fans and a cult status of being one of the best ever tv shows. Maybe I was just over-expectant in what I thought I was about to watch through having heard so many good things about it. Hood would steam in and "clean up" the town in BB in one episode. And only have bandage on his wrist to show any sign of damage the week later no matter how many times he was punched in the face or shot.

    Mini TV Review

Thank goodness for that, I thought it was one of the most over hyped TV series ever. So many dull episodes, I'm amazed it was even commissioned for a second series. Feel like I'm banging on about it, but seriously Banshee takes some beating. There must be someone else on here who has seen it? I've recommended it to several people and everyone of them loved it and couldn't believe they hadn't heard of it before. Highbrow it is not, but undeniably, thoroughly entertaining start to end of every episode.
  13. The right decision for sure, especially with the way values for original TT6's are going.

Banshee, superb action series with more action in one episodes than some have in a series. It's made by cinemax in the US which will tell you all you need to know about the other content in it. It's honestly one series where you can't wait for the next episode just to see what happens, proper 18 certificate show so the violence is brutal in places. Can't recommend it highly enough and if you get the chance try it, I promise you won't regret it. The fourth and final series will air next year and I can't wait.
  15. I'd honesty say its overpriced, but going by the market and availability of TT6 Supras I'd also say not by much. As has been mentioned, a better description including what OEM parts have been replaced, the servicing that's been carried out and what common Supra issues have been addressed(Valve stem seals, heater matrix, even stuff like boot rubbers and coil pack clips). I'd also delete the "wet pictures" as they make the car look awful and don't show it in a good light. GLWTS Edit: If you didn't add the grounding kit yourself I'd be tempted to remove it, as it clutters up what looks like a clean engine otherwise.
  16. Yeah amazing how you were both almost put off by those ring rental Swifts, suppose you need to be extra vigilant of them. Nice couple of laps though, didn't seem too busy either.
  17. I'm playing Forza 6 now and it is brilliant, I'll agree that Forza 5 was a rush job, but 6 is so much better. You can drift if you want but it takes a lot of practice to get good at it. As for the steering you can choose if you want full simulation steering or not, this will give you a very accurate representation of the cars steering although you'll need a steering wheel to get the most out of this setting as it makes the game much harder with a controller. ForzaVista is very detailed and you can explore the whole car, looking under the bonnet etc and it all looks identical to the real thing. [video=youtube;o5pfu8G0HFc?t=3m39s]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5pfu8G0HFc?t=3m39s All the cars sounds are recorded from the actual cars also, so they all sound like their real world counterparts. I particularly like turning engine sounds up and music down in the settings.
  18. No, I don't recognise the GT4. There's a lovely 99 reg white one in Dyce that I pass regularly, must be one of the very last GT4's. I'd probably recognise your 200 if you bought it locally. Owned both an ST205 GT4 and a S14A though. The 200 was a fun car(used mine for drifting before realising a SZ-R was a much more reliable drift car), but they have quite a few well known issues. Mine was a UK car and was suffering from rust as all the UK cars do, was glad I got rid and wouldn't consider another unless it was a fresh import silvia. The GT4 on the other hand was a superb car and never let me down, didn't require anything other than regular maintenance no matter how hard it was driven. Was one of the best cars I've owned, used it all year round, great in the snow with the 50/50 split. Not a single thing went wrong with the car while I owned it over two and a half years. Possibly one of the reasons I drive a widetrack STI now.
  19. With 160k on the clock and those modifications I'd be looking elsewhere. I'd look for a relatively standard car that's not been messed with too much, the standard 255bhp import is a great car.
  20. Yeah owned one, fantastic cars. As has been mentioned, lower banana arms, crush tubes, fig 8's will all have been due a change with plenty of them being 20+ years old now. Clutches are mentioned as they are harder to fit on a 4WD car which puts the labour rate up considerably(think it's quoted 7 hours for the job). Worth checking fuel and brake lines, both the flexis and hard pipes can have corrosion now. Just as reliable as a supra IMO, it's usually badly modified ones with raised boost that can have issues. I test drove one when I was looking to get my second one and the throttle stuck wide open on the test drive, that was *exciting*! It was a bit of a heap tbh. But I'm sure a good one would give plenty of trouble free miles of its not messed with. I'd try to get a facelift one with recaros & projector headlights. The black one above looks like a good example, I'd want to know what's been done to achieve that power and how long it has been running that power.
  21. An NA, running properly will do 400 miles on a tank all day long on a run. Did it several times in the past. As has been said there's plenty left in the tank there, could be near 400 miles yourself on a steady run.
  22. Hmmm, the drivers side rear doesn't line up and there's a good one inch panel gap around the rear hatch on the drivers side that's the opposite to the passengers side. However there's a chance of this one having a true mileage. Anyway, looks like it's gone. Soon to be broken I'd guess, or power wash the engine and wheels & put up for £5k.
  23. Your contacts can be moved onto the sim card or sync'd with your Google account, this will make them easy to restore if you roll the phone back to an earlier android version. I know HTC have there own transfer app which allows you to save all your messages, but these are usually used when upgrading your phone. But it might be possible to do a data transfer to your old phone (of all your contacts, messages, pictures, videos etc) then reset your current phone then transfer everything back again. But of a faff to do though. Stopping the OTA update notifications is harder and requires rooting the phone: http://www.androidayos.com/2014/11/10/disable-block-ota-update-on-samsung-galaxy-s5/
  24. Can you give some more detail? Was it just rust and do you have a link to the car to maybe save any other members looking for one?
