  1. Fair enough, but many people have been there and done it before you(including myself with my first TT6) and you always end up spending more money that you will never see back, but I suppose that's not the point in the car modifying game. Have you been in or driven a TT?(either stock or BPU) If you haven't then I suggest your view will change after a drive in a BPU supra, the power delivery from 4k on-wards is very moreish. I'm constantly looking at them for sale.
  2. Total just over 4k, and that's doing everything cheaply. If you are actually serious about doing all the things on this list then I would sell the current car and buy a TT to start with. Also, I assume the reason for only going "half BPU" would be the gear box? This won't be an issue with a box designed for the TT engine in the first place. You should be able to pick up a facelift TT auto or tiptronic for 5-6k no problem. Just my opinion.
  3. Very kind of you to say, but it was only really years three and four that were tough. IMO. Plus, spent too much time playing pool in the union and laughing at what the initials of the course spelt.
  4. Honours degree in computer aided mechanical engineering from Cale here.
  5. Car's looking good. Reminds me of Ricky49's car, it was a facelift silver with a very similar number plate. Good call on ditching the bonnet scoop, not a fan myself. Prefer the clean lines of the j-spec bonnet. What's next on the cards for the supra? Also what and where do you study?
  6. Car looks good, but as previously mentioned the camera phone pictures don't really show the car off. Can I ask what type of "winter wax" was used? I take it, it's a much harder wearing wax? Sounds like a really good idea in this climate, might have to pick some up myself.

    White smoke

Never said it was, I was just stating that if the OP has never seen an example of "blue" or "white" smoke from a car before, then "maybe" it has been incorrectly described. I get the impression people are expecting smurf colored smoke coming out the exhaust before they suspect the two most common causes of smoke in the supra.

    White smoke

As mentioned it sounds like either turbo oil seals or valve stem seals to me. The pulling up to a set of traffic lights and a puff of smoke coming out the exhaust is a classic sign of that. Although you are saying white smoke, which usually means water as opposed to oil, when people say blue smoke, it just looks like regular smoke with a slight blue hue to it. Have the 19 year old turbos on the car been changed? If not I'd start saving for some now, they don't give a lot of notice before they let go in a spectacular fashion, leaving you with a stub where the exhaust turbine was.
  9. Nice video, looking forward to the 30th at Knockhill. Although I can't see anyone catching Paul Smith, but a good run at Knockhill could see SATS in second place.
  10. It's a "RAZO" accelerator pedal. Very Neddy. eBay special.
  11. You should be able to pick up a cheap frequency band expander from eBay that will solve the radio problem. Simple to install as well.
  12. Had this working on my 350Z, you can also link it to a tablet to have a bigger display if you want.

  14. I believe there is a meet this Sunday. Don't think it was mentioned on here though. Also the next SXOC drift day is the 8th September, there is one space left if you are quick. That'll get the love back with your car.
  15. I'm pretty sure the Supra driver owns both cars, seem to remember it being mentioned on the original video comments. How many BPU Supras did a 12sec quarter at POD? Not many I'm guessing, an auto BPU with hi stall will though. Really? Even the oldest Gallardo's had just shy of 500bhp and did 0-60 in under 4 seconds. I take it the turbo in question was a standard 996 turbo? As a 996 turbo with the X50 pack is 450bhp, and the 997 turbo is best part of 470-490bhp(depending on year) and 0-60 in 3.5 Seriously fast cars in the right hands.
  16. 134bhp out of one of those Fiestas, 0-60 in 8.4. Pretty respectable for a little Fiesta that only weighs a tonne. So I'm guessing a well peddled one would keep up with a 15+ year old(guess) heavy supra, until you get to 80 leptons plus then you should pull away. I also think a lot of N/A Supras would dyno around 200bhp these days in their current form(i.e, without giving them a full service before hand).
  17. I'm sure you'll be fine. Best of luck though, hopefully no sheared bolts etc.
  18. Facelift TT coilover fitting. Loads of helpful pictures on that thread. Worth a read through before taking it on. Thanks to Brian(tDr) for the original post.
  19. Yup 9005/HB3 for both high and low beams.
  20. As already said, the car looks in excellent condition. Credit to Jurgen for sorting out the suspension. How about some black tint for the rear windows? Looking forward to the updates. Three months!
  21. Really liking the yellow. Loads of supras have little insects in the lights, there is even a thread about it on supraforums. It's possible the sensors you guys are finding are either for the GPS or for the toll roads in Japan.
  22. Congratulations on the new car big man. Another vote for keeping it OEM here, active spolier FTW.
  23. Looking forward to see what supra it is.

    Mines ecu?

Remove the existing FCD then fit the mines ecu. Pretty sure the only tool you will need is a 10mm socket. 10minute job tops.
