  3. Quad Rotor FTMFW. What a fantastic trip, that will be something you will remember and look back fondly on for all your days. Lucky guy. Quad rotor RX-7, viper engine "redneck" car and VVTI 2JZ single GT86, mental mk4 fiesta and all the sleeper cars look awesome. I would love to see all these cars blasting round the track, sideways of-course. This is what all these cars are built for. Noticed the funny Nokia sign in this shot.

  7. Thanks Nic. It's hard to tell from that picture but I believe its part number 90467-06107-01. But after the part number is "(2)" which suggest you need to order two when replacing, this isn't the case with the white block as there is only one. Possibly it comes as part of the cable part numbers, can anyone shed any light on this?
  8. As per title really, I'm looking for the part number for the white block that splits the bonnet release cable from the cabin into the two cables that go to the two latches. This is the white block situated in the top of the front bumper. The garage the carried out my MOT managed to brake the white block and now the bonnet is stuck shut. Thanks, Steven.

  10. Yup sounds like you have one of those old analogue right feet, you need to "upgrade" to a digital input to see these results.
  11. Did you read what I said? So "the side road had a little bit of gravel thrown on to it as many back road intersections in NZ do" leads me to believe that you were not driving to the conditions of the road. Gravel junction and you tried to pull out quickly in front of a truck, even a modern car would activate it's traction control system in this situation(although it would probably do it in a more progressive manor). Couple of other things to note: You are at a give way whether that is a slip road or junction, You have to give way to oncoming road users. If you cause another road user to change either speed or direction you would fail your driving test. Fact. It amazes me the people in this country that pull out into other road users paths and expect them to slow down!
  12. Rubbish. There is no chance that the system has caused more crashes than it's caused, if this were the case it would be a blanket removal of the system on the forum. As I've already said it will have saved hundreds of people new to RWD in the dry and loads of people not used to the power in the wet. And as for the cliche of pulling out in front of a lorry(which everyone seems to be doing). If a stock TT(assuming standard suspension in good condition and proper tyres) was to pull out in front of a lorry from a junction at WOT in the dry it would not lose traction and the traction control would not intervene. So my suggestion is that all of these examples of people "pulling out in front of lorries" were either driving too fast for the wet conditions or had sub standard suspension/tyres or both. Don't get me wrong I run with it off most of the time but have plenty of experience of RWD cars and handling them sideways.(had six RWD cars and used three of them for drifting) As for removing the TC, you're my hero. How many miles have you done this year?

  15. It may be 20 year old technology, and absolutely no doubt that there are far better traction control systems out there. But I bet it's saved plenty of people on here from stuffing their pride and joy, whether they like to admit it or not.

  17. Link it thread where he says he has to sell due to his injury. Hopefully he got good money for it and didn't let a vulture beat him down on price too much, it's worth every penny of what it was up for.
  18. I believe that's wishful thinking, there are plenty of people with supras who can't afford to put fuel in them, never mind £200(minimum) from a garage to change the timing belt. I'd also guess that most people wouldn't know that the timing belt should be changed every five years regardless of mileage. I'd be interested to hear from some traders/garages on what the oldest/highest mileage belt they have seen on a supra?
  19. Out of interest: Has anyone ever heard of an OEM timing belt fail? A quick search on here suggest not, with the only real failure was due to a loose screw shredding the belt.
  20. The UK spec supra was £42k when it was released, so that's £60k+ in today's money. I would bet that the vast majority of people on here wouldn't have that kind of money to splash on a new one(I mean there were only 600-odd UK supras sold over three years!). Also drivers of a nigh on 20 year old car, would not be the target market for a new Toyota supra. Roll on 2028 when most people will all be able to afford a MKV. Anybody thinking it'll be 2JZ derived engine is dreaming. Chances are it'll be a hybrid or electric. Just wait and get a GTR in 5 years time when they will be £15k.

    That's a result. Once you have a couple more years ncb saved up on the mini you can swap it over. Cheap insurance now and saving up ncb. Win-win.

  23. What I would say is that any UK car will have have a better chance of having a traceable history that any import. As they are all relatively unknown history wise, heard plenty of stories of duff cars being brought in on personal imports.
