Try and find out about last services, when and what was done and if its had a cambelt change when it should - I think its should be after 60,000 miles but someone else here should confirm that. Its a pricey job but important. You can check the mileage if your suspicious or just want to be sure it wasnt clocked between its leaving japan and getting here, even if it was a few years ago. It might not have had the coversion to mph from kph, worth checking this too. wouldnt hurt to give it a service pretty soon just to be on the safe side - oils and sparks and get the suspension checked, depending how particular you are but best to be certain I had a good amount of docs even though it had only been over here for 2 years but I know someone locally who had nothing but a manual!!! Good luck with your search, sorry response so long winded! btw, buying a supra off someone here is a good idea cause we're all nuts about our supra's and you should get a good 'un linda

hilarious takes of numptys in cars and bikes getting into scrapes Lx

It went front and back, was just like being on ice, not a jot of traction thats why brakes useless as no grip yup it had some options on it, including a drivers air bag, although I have two of my own, as has been mentioned Lx

there was very heavy wear on the inside shoulders of the front tyres. apparently having coilovers fitted and lowered to such a degree created too much neg camber. It was toeing out too much too, which I realised. couldnt see the point of putting new tyres on without sorting it as theyd just end up wearing the same way, make sense?? Im taking it back to weston for a general look over anyway as the suspension was loose at the front, could be back is similar. Bit of creaking on turning and accelerating from standstill L

come here rich let me spank you ABS was an option in 93 but its on mine, yes. RLTC and LSD didnt come as standard on the NA. Interesting debate though worse part was the fact it was rush hour n peeps going into work Just washed and polished it and apologised to it profusely Theyre so tractable usually, its easy to forget they can bite, though it can be fun thanks for the concern and sorry I'll be more careful next time Lxx

Have a look at whats available, check out some ideas: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=20858 Japshow is coming up, a good excuse to go checking out some kits, see what takes your fancy although you seem to hint at wanting stock looks. Personally i'd go for something different but without spoiling the supras lush curves. Some of the guys here can photoshop you some images I'm sure Its fun looking though, enjoy!!! Linda x

turbonut replied to tDR's topic in Supra Classifieds
It looks great Brian Those MKIII's are really growing on me, I saw some mint ones at Trax a couple of weeks back and getting to like the styling. I'd love one as a second car Good luck with the sale! Have you put it on the MKIII forum btw? Linda x -
White Facelift SZ-R 6 Speed looking for a new home!
turbonut replied to how_supra's topic in Supra Classifieds
Its very tidy, like those anthracite wheels! And a free pair of boots with the tyre bargain!! Erm, why on earth are you getting rid of it? Why arent you driving it? Its a lovely example, please dont sell it!!! Linda x -
The easiest and cheapest option is to just change the fan belt and see if its just that - Process of elimination sounds like it is as its the auxillary belt that drives several of your systems. Steve Manley 01865 291333 at toyota got me one for a few quid and should be able to mail it to you within a couple of days - Its just a 10 minute job to change btw, just need a 14mm ratchet and some elbow grease on the tensioner to push it down, a spare pair of hands to help get the belt over the pulleys and fan and your there Hope its not the pretensioner assembly but you can get that from Steve too. I have the part number if you need it. Lx

J tuner was good, technical but not overly so for us less erudite lot I subscribed from the second issue and got my money back at the end as well. tbh, I think half their problem was the fact there were so few retail outlets stocking it other than WHSmiths so they couldnt have sold a lot of copies. If I see any supra articles in either Jap performance or Banzai I'll get it anyway Lx

Have you thought about getting coilovers? You can ajdust the ride height for comfort and clearance. They're not cheap but are a good investment, maybe worth bearing in mind if you become very solvent i.e; win the lottery Lx

yeah, even LSD wouldnt have helped. A delivery truck left a trail of diesel all over the park earlier this year but its skated in the damp before though fine in the wet, if that makes sense I was a bit too keen on the throttle but I usually enjoy throwing it around that island without mishap Had two new front tyres fitted last week Dunlop SP9000's and the front alignment done the week before so nothing mechanical. Just me being a bit naughty Lx

Greasy roads from drizzly rain, island, too much gas, spun it out Fortunately didnt wreck the front as I wasnt going too fast but front slid as much as the back making the brakes useless. bumped up against the kerb and scraped the bumper underneath but not noticeable damage. Just had the front alignment done, hope its not fooked it up Island was on business park so no heavy traffic, thankfully Makes me think whether its worth upgrading to UK spec brakes & discs although I'm not sure they'll clear the Fox RS5 alloys - 18" Worth it?? Hi Mate Surely the NA springs wouldnt be sufficient to deal with TT power/handling?? How come your 'downgrading' or is it due to cost you want NA's? May be a safety issue involved there, though I'm no expert Go for Bilstein's off a TT as a minimum I'd have thought? Lx

Blimey, I've just logged on and H is actually off line!!! Lxx -
I understand where your coming from fellah. I could have saved the money towards getting my own place....or get the supra and do the modifications I want to do. the supra won! and mines an NA but I'm absolutely delighted with the way its come on and dont regret it for one moment. But from what you've said, the things you want to do are only cosmetic. Its taken me 9 months to get this far, slow but steady. Make quality mods, dont rush it and dont get down hearted. £400-300 is not a lot and if you make some adjustments to your regular spend it shouldnt take long. I got to about the £2.5K mark then stopped counting! Modifying is an addictive habit and hard to know when to stop but do a little here and there when finances allow and before you know it you'll be a happy chap! Please dont let it go You wont be able to afford to make all those changes once you get your own place! Linda x

Hi and Welcome! If your worried about fuel you need to consider other running costs as well: servicing, insurance etc. As most supras have been around for a few years you need to bear in mind replacing worn/damaged parts as well as regular servicing ( the service can cost you around £400 for a full oil/lubricant change, top up, sparks. Services need to be more regular with these beasts, oil and [normal] sparks changed at least every 6K miles ) Its useful to keep a fund on one side for replacement parts and tyres. The N/A's are quite reliable for their age but remember they are a performance car and not aimed at peeps looking for frugal miles so some self sacrificing of other things in your life is quite normal i.e. food, clothes... But you have SOOOOO much fun you'll not stop smiling and it'll all be worth while, trust me!

I feel sickened for you fellah To add insult to injury, the same twat will probably soon be driving around in an untaxed, uninsured old saxo/nova/clio etc causing havoc, injury and ultimately death to pedestrians, his passengers and any other unlucky sod who gets in his way! Why do basket cases like that even exist? Is it something in their genetics or a missing chromosone? did they get dropped on their heads at birth? Its like they carry a mental deformity. You can map out their probable route in life without even knowing them - endless trouble with police, petty crime, ASBO's, numerous prison stays until they depart this earth - none too quick if you ask us!!! As for the police...Adz, they go for easy targets that dont need large quantities of paperwork which they dont have time to fill in cause theyre lazy/understaffed etc.... Lx
