Sky Insurance - best policy, best price, best service
turbonut replied to Safely Insured's topic in Club News and Membership
I've just had my renewal docs through from sky and been delighted that the premium has hardly budged from last year. OK, the agreed value has increased but I think this is small price to pay for, what has been for me, an excellent, friendly and FLEXIBLE company. An added bonus for me was that I have taken them up on their breakdown cover as RAC had increased my cover by around 40% and that after a 10% discount for no claims!!!!! - and saved myself £50 which offsets a lot of the agreed value fee. New photos will be winging their way to them this weekend for the agreed value but I have been delighted with the service so far. Thanks sky!! Linda -

Prince Charles decided to take up jogging. Everyday, he'd jog past a hooker standing on the same street corner. He learned to brace himself as he approached her for what was almost certain to follow. "One hundred and fifty pounds!" she'd shout from the curb. "No! Five pounds!" He would fire back, just to shut her up. This ritual between him and the hooker became a daily occurrence. He'd run by and she'd yell, "One hundred and Fifty pounds!" He'd yell back, "Five pounds!" One day, Camilla decided that she wanted to accompany her husband on his jog. As the jogging couple neared the working woman's street corner, Prince Charles realised she'd bark her £150 offer and Camilla would wonder what he'd really been doing on all his past outings. He figured he'd better have a good explanation for his wife. As they jogged into the turn that would take them past the corner, he became even more apprehensive than usual. Sure enough, there was the hooker. He tried to avoid the prostitute's eyes as she watched the pair jog past. Then, from her corner, the hooker yelled, ..... ...... ...... "See what you get for five pounds, you tight bastard?!"

You dont want a boy racer car but your considering getting a scooby??? Actually, the sportwagon is not too bad in WRX guise, they did an STi version in Japan, think a few grey imports may be knocking around but I don't think any were sold directly by franchised garages over here, tho I could be wrong. Rogue (Mr Hanky's better half ) had a WRX sportwagon, you could drop Mark a PM and get some feedback. enjoy your searching Linda x

Oh Cr@p Feel for you hun x tbh, I dont go out with a handbag as they are too easy to swipe, I try and keep keyes/phone/money on me (zipped jacket pockets)and leave credit cards at home - travel light!! It msut be a PINTA to sort all that out but all the best, just be wary next time and keep hold of the bag strap whilst your walking around. Linda x

Tesco obviously treat their customers as they treat their stock - just another item. It does seem an excessivlely long time but having been friends with a severly disabled person, outings and shopping trips can be an absolute nightmare and extremely tiring. The most disgraceful thing here is the total inflexibility of Tesco once they were aware of the circumstances. L

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized. "Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub." "Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup." ..... ..... ..... ...... "No." said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"

hi and Check out the FAQ's section which gives you a breakdown of the various models, although there are few standard supra's about, many are modified in one way or another although N/A engines are usually unmolested http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=60 I reckon £3.5 would get you an N/A auto, more for a manual 5 speed - facelift versioin has a 6 speed manual though. there are some TT's going for silly money at the moment but £6 - £8K is more what you'd be looking at for a decent turbo. Happy searching!! Linda xx

Hi Vicki I went to a presentation/dinner dance last year and it was a black tie/ posh frock do. I went to an ex designer outlet near me and bought a gorgeous outfit - satin & lace and crusted with pearls/beads etc. didnt think it was my thing but felt like a princess for the night!! Cant see me going to anything else as posh as that again but, go on, spoil yourself for the night - make Pauls credit card melt!!! Lxx

THE REDHEAD A man is dining in a fancy restaurant and there is a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He has been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to talk with her. Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man. He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back. "Oh my, I am so sorry, " the woman says as she pops her eye back in place. "Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you," she says. They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they go to the theater followed by drinks. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens. After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They have a wonderful, wonderful time. The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed. Everything had been SO incredible! "You know, "he said, "you are the perfect woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet? " "No, "she replies. . . " "You just happened to catch my eye." Lxxx

I disagree. As Martin said, did this guy do his homework first? Did you find out exactly what you did and didnt need for a BPU before ostensibly giving them a blank cheque? Did you get your own prices for comparable suppliers/parts?? Request a quote before they started? I think you were too trusting, mate. You should of got them to give you a list of parts and prices before allowing them to buy on your behalf and checking their labour rate/estimated work time. If you had a new car and went to a franchised dealership theyd charge you a massive mark up on parts - standard practise, thats how they make their money, not on labour charges alone. Its all hindsight fellah and I feel for you. But......We're a bunch of tight @rses on here and check everywhere before buying anything for our supra's. As for Weston, they do charge a lot for labour, but then I was charged 60 quid an hour for a specialist jap car garage for servicing. These guys charge pretty much as they wish as they regard themselves as specialists. I went to Weston and they sorted my geometry and suspension which I knew was bad but hadnt realised was so awful til it was sorted. Not cheap, but thorough and professional and I for one wouldnt hesitate to go back - and in fact, will. Linda x
