  1. I don't agree. Yes they did have complex riffs, but only a few per song, whereas now they seem to have sat in a studio, played a riff, clicked on copy, pasted here and there, clicked on another etc, until they had 5 minutes of chopping and changing tempo. I also feel some of the lyrics feel forced and rushed. Like they sat down and thought "...hmmm, the public liked the tracks about death. How can we do some lyrics that they'll like...", instead of it sounding more personal it sounds made to measure. Don't get me wrong, Metallica have always been and will always be my favourite group of all time, but I feel a little let down. Maybe they should have quit while they were ahead and just toured playing the old stuff we love.
  2. I find the album too messy. Yes it's a step in the right direction, but they try to do too much in one song. Keep it simple chaps.....
  3. I'm personally loving this. Maybe not to everyones taste, but that's the great thing about the supra. You can make it as individual or standard as you want. You can't please all the people all the time Good work Eric!
  4. Thanks for the info. I think I'll heat coat the manifold, DP and turbo housing, and use my blanket to keep the remaining heat from boiling my brake fluid.

I'm going to miss mine too. At full throttle it's also really good as the changes are so quick and smooth.

I'll be doing a manual conversion before I go single, so will have it dyno'd before and after for a comparison. I had it on a hub dyno a few months ago but the auto box wasn't filling me with confidence in the readings. Initially the reading was at almost 2000 in torque, and the fans went absolutely mental. It was the first time they'd had an auto on the new dyno, so I think most of the adjustments were guess work.
  7. I'll do it once I finish my single project, but it'll only be in the new year...
  8. We need a few drive-by videos and a couple of in car drives please?
  9. Nice pics. In the UK we got some funny looking squirty things either side of the car. You managed to get 2 blondes I like your style!

I'd like to stay tiptronic (essentially auto) too, but with all the agro of mapping an auto box, combined with the concerns people have over the amount of power it can handle, has forced me into the manual decision. Glad to see you sticking to your guns!
  11. From what I understood, the problem with wrapping was that the heat could still escape the wrap at the start and end of the wrap, exposing the joints to alot more heat than if they were coated or unwrapped, which leads to cracking?
  12. These are the chaps I'm going to use: http://www.zircotec.org/page/exhaust_system_coatings/60 They did the coatings on the new Lambo and are used in quite a few motorsport applications. The test results are quite good.
  13. From what I've heard wrapping your manifold = bad? I'm going to heatcoat the exhaust side of the turbo, manifold and downpipe (and maybe midpipe). Is a blanket still neccessary after all that?
  14. I was wondering the exact same thing when I got mine. The heat has to go somewhere, and trying to keep the heat down in the engine bay at the expense of the turbo doesn't sound right to me...
  15. It'll look even nicer once I've heat-coated the hot side. Not sure about what to do with the intake side. I'd like it to be matt black but not sure if it's possible.
  16. Yup, very excited, although realistically I'll only start the build in the new year due to other commitments.
  17. Nasty "unclean...unclean..." (accompanied by the sound of a ringing bell)
  18. Amen to that... 1. Cliff Burton (Metallica) 2. Flee (RHCP) 3. Robert Trujillo (Metallica)
