  1. I like that a lot (the relays, not the fact that it's off road)
  2. Looks great Rob. Definitely one of my fav's. Did a quick scan of the thread, but didn't see what clutch you were using apart from the fact that it's an RPS. Which one is it?
  3. Might help adding a few pics to the first thread.
  4. Yup, still friends. Good luck bud.
  5. Good call. I think I actually did that come to think of it.
  6. 10th post and already 3 exclamation marks. You'll fit right in here Don't get angry just checking if you'd read the post. Free bump.
  7. Just remember that mine was a different ECU etc, so don't take my word for it.
  8. Exactly what I was thinking..........
  9. I have a VVTI Tiptronic so the ECU and wires are different. Pretty sure it was pink though. It was a long time ago, but the pink wire is ringing a few bells.
  10. Quick update: Had a few issues. The propshaft was the wrong length. The rear section fitted the auto diff (slightly longer prop), but I had the manual diff installed. We're now swapping the manual diff to an auto torsen until I can get another propshaft. My original diff was A02A (not torsen). The clutch also won't last long, so busy deciding on which new one to get. I'd like something almost as light underfoot as the standard clutch but with good life and power holding. Probably go with Exedy Twin/RPS twin (steel or carbon, undecided). Might also get TRD gearbox mounts. Speed Sensor issues. The tiptronic box has 2 speed sensors (2wires each), and the 6 speed has one 3 wire sensor. Not sure what to do with this so any help would be great. The reverse light works I drove it on Wednesday night (with a few brackets etc to get around diff issues) and it felt good. The box is in good condition so that's a plus. Obviously the speedo wasn't working during the test. I also now need a facelift 6 speed dash panel as I currently have a pre-facelift panel, and a nice subtle looking gearknob.
  11. I think I connected mine to the wire coming from the ECU
  12. That'd be awesome. Be good to put faces to names.
  13. Is this on the 28th? If so, I'll try to be there.

    What clutch?

    Found this: http://mkiv.com/techarticles/clutch/index.html
  15. Another quick question. What voltage goes into the speed sensor on the box?
  16. Yes, Keron is a very helpful chap Thanks for the link, but again, that was auto to manual and even though the tiptronic is the same box, it does a few things differently.
  17. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/auto_to_6spd_swap/install_6spd/DSC03974.JPG Here's a pic of the speed sensor on the manual box. You can see the gear stick at the top left, to give you an idea of where the sensor is in relation to things.
  18. Thanks Steve. I'm not sure how easy it is to get to when the box is on the car and all the bits are screwed together. I'll have to have a look and get back to you. Basically, the manual gearbox will have a few wires coming from it to the ECU. One of them is for the reverse indicator and usually there is a plug with three wires. If I remember correctly there is a power, earth and pulse. Ideally I'd like to know what colour the 3 wires are on the plug that isn't attached to the box, so I know what to look for on the ECU side.
