  1. The WI indicator LED has been mounted in the dash where the Cat overheat LED usually is, seeing as my car never had the sensor in the first place. It has a picture of a cat with a lightning bolt through it. Pics to follow.... The boost gauge has been mounted in the right hand air vent. I don't use the 2 air vents anyway as they dry out my contact lenses and then I can't see where I'm going
  2. I think mine has been resolved. Just waiting for the car to get started to see if the speedo works. I got a modified manual na vvti loom from Jody that linked the gearbox to the engine loom, and it appears to be the solution.
  3. Just a note to add: The speed sensor on the Tiptronic gearbox is completely different to the standard auto box, and this method doesn't work.
  4. Dan is also doing loads of black... I think it looks great!
  5. Not only is it over priced, but it's horrendous...

    Tyre choice

Get yourself some decent tyres... Goodyears, Michelin etc...
  7. Tasty looking lines. What sort of pressure will you be running?
  8. There are a few things I've learnt along the way that may be helpful. 1) Decat both with a 1.2bar Restrictor Ring. No need for a boost controller as you can hit 1.2 bar without it. BC's only raise the boost, not lower it. You may be able to get a slightly more aggressive gain on the boost with a BC, but when I was BPU, running with BC on and off was barely noticeable, so save your cash for other mods. 2) FCD - Once you start raising the boost, your standard ECU will try prevent over boosting, so get one of these. The moment I decatted I hit boost cut, and it's fairly scary when you're not expecting it. (I'll have one for sale pretty soon) 3) AFR, EGT & Boost gauge to keep an eye on fuel, boost and temperatures. These are optional but advised. 4) Cat-back exhaust. 5) Replace your SMIC with a new or aftermarket SMIC. You don't need an FMIC with BPU, and all it did for me was add a little lag and costs a bomb. Notes: Don't bother with a fuel pump unless you're planning future mods, as the standard one is up to the job up to about 1.2 bar. Don't exceed 1.2 bar as the injectors, turbos and fuel pump are all pretty much maxed out at that stage. Don't replace the FPR as the std one is fine. Don't waste money on "branded" spark plugs etc. Get a decent set of copper plugs. There is a thread in the technical section on these.
  9. My brother and 2 of my friends have them. They are expensive and slightly unreliable, but you forget about that once you've been in a big single one. It's like being strapped to a superbike with the insane acceleration. Light body + big turbo = big smile
  10. Nearly... Xmas comes early. I'm desperate for pics but Wayne is having internet connection issues so I guess I'll have to wait.
  11. Ta Jamesy, I'm having the EGT and Defi's wired in today and then it's ready to get cranked over for the first time. We'll do a compression test and make sure it's all ready for Ryan next week.
  12. Not entirely sure yet. I guess I'll take Ryan's recommendation, but I'd guess at 1.5'ish? I don't want to run on the ragged edge, so I'll take it easy at first.
  13. Hmmmm, interesting. I don't suppose you could post a pic of the underside of the inside of your bonnet in the multimedia section I linked above (and below just in case) please Ken? That way I can keep chatter off this thread. Thanks http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=27

  15. Thanks for the cool attitude. Sorry to let you guys down..
  16. I can't make this now. Ryan is only available next week to map her

    pc help

download ccleaner and set the settings to clear IE. Works a treat for me...
  18. I wouldn't waste my time with the tiptronic as a retro fit. You'd need the engine harness, ecu and then still try to get flappy paddles that fit. Also, the ECU for the tiptronics is a facelift version, and the wiring going to the auto box is different (even though it's the same model as the auto the speed sensor wires etc are different). I thought about doing this when mine was tiptronic but couldn't find any decent flappy bits to make it work properly. Then, as you're single, the auto box wouldn't last long either. If you want to give it a bash, I still have my tiptronic box, ecu etc.
