    They're kind of tack welded evey 4 inches all around the edge which is why you get the 50p effect. If they're properly sealed then it shouldn't be a problem in the short term. I guess all cars eventually rust anyway. You probably had a good job done on yours

    EDIT above: The two skins are sealed from the factory, and cutting them is like opening an envelope ...

    Basically, there are 2 skins that meet in the arch. When you cut them, the 2 skins can now get moisture etc in between them, which eventually will cause rust. A good body shop will cut them back, and then either weld them shut or seal them somehow and coat with antirust. If it was me, I'd get it cut properly and pay more, or if no one will touch them, then roll them. Rolling is better than rust.

    I had mine rolled with archenemy. No cracking and I'm generally happy with it, but if you look carefully you get the old 50p coin effect where the welds are... ever so slight angles..... No one normally notices it but I took it to GVN to have the bumper and bonnet fitted and Gerald took one look and said. "You should have had them cut".. trained eyes I guess.

    I've just done it. Still not finished. 10k easily if you take into account things don't always fit out the box, and sometimes parts break during the upgrade. My alternator has just gone. 12.5k if you include the manual conversion...

    Nah, it's my clutch foot. Amazingly, the pain started when I went from tiptronic to manual It's pretty sore to drive to be honest but I'm going for cortico steroid injections in my heel on Monday so hopefully that'll sort me out. I have a snowboarding holiday in January that I need to be better for!

    Thanks Kev. With the year I've had, it was destined to give me trouble I've lost a baby, broken 4 bones, had 5 stitches, had cholera! , lost my luggage twice and now have plantar fasciitis. Charming You gotta laugh! Thanks Ryan, and thanks again for your patience. You the daddy
