Nice, the yellow brakes really work well.
  2. To be fair to Eric i'd suggest we don't start slagging him off on this forum. We've had no issues with him and have enjoyed his build thread from start to finish. The Internet is free to search to anyone, so if they want to read the catty comments i'm sure they can find it without ruining our good club spirit.

    Alternator

Quick update. The battery and alternator were fine. We ran a wire to an external bulb and it charges so it looks like a loose wire or loose earth running to the bulb internally. Wayne did this before reading this thread but spot on Absz. Nice call dude.
  5. Good point. A general rule of thumb is that they should come up to just under your chin but go by the weight ratings. Shorter boards are better for park and longer boards are generally more big mountain stuff.

    Brand new battery...
  7. Hi chaps, I need some help with my alternator please. It's not charging. The mechanic has had my alternator off, and put another one on that he knows works, and it's still not getting the charge light. He put the standard ECU back on (just to try put back anything that's changed) and again no light. He even tried a different bulb in case the bulb was blown and no luck. What are the steps in troubleshooting an alternator? What else can affect the charging? TIA Mark
  8. Great car. Just lose the spot lights...
  9. No probs bud. I wish someone had told me that years ago I wear wrist guards all the time, but still managed to break my wrist in 3 places last year 3 hours into my first holiday. Not sure if the guards made it better or worse as where the wrist guards dug in is where one of the bones broke... I only wear a helmet when I go into the parks or off-piste. On piste I don't really bother but it's not a bad thing to do. I also wear one of these coccyx protectors religiously as I've nearly broken it before when I was wearing one. If I didn't have it on I would have definitely broken the old tail bone. You won't sh!t right for weeks if you break that.
  10. Edd, get something fairly flexible and soft as it'll turn more easily. The stiffer boots/bindings/boards are more for huge powder days and freeriding which, to be honest you don't get often enough on piste to justify getting. I'd go for a softish board, middle of the road boots and bindings in terms of stiffness. Most places rated them from 1-10 with 1 being soft and 10 being stiff. Get a 4-6 board/boots/bindings. Bindings: don't waste your money on the high end ones, as they're usually made from metals etc that are expensive but also really stiffen things up. Any small twitch and you're off in a different direction. The softer cheaper plastic ones are great all the way through intermediate level and are more forgiving. They're also lighter. Boots: Go for something with a dual lacing system so you can customise the tightness on your foot separately from your calf. Try a few on as different manufacturers are better for different feet. Some cater better for wider feet etc. One final thing. Unless you're a really good rider and pushing the equipment to the limits, you don't notice much difference in the cheaper stuff to the expensive stuff from brand names companies.
  11. How's this coming on? Any news/updates Jamie?
  12. Nice. 1st dibbs if you do sell
  13. What about fixing mine? I have a few that are flickering and some not working? Or is it something I can sort myself?
  14. Nice job mate. Makes me want to buy lifters!!
  15. That's just wrong You're going to love it. The terrain has some nice beginner stuff but the intermediate and advanced slopes are amazing.
  16. Hahaha That's where we stayed. Quiet'ish but not bad overall. The bus ride is a pain in the butt, but it's very reliable. There's a legendary burger place that I forget the name of. I'll see if it's in the pics. We managed to befriend some Americans that live in Jackson and they invited us to their house for a night of Texas Holdem. Awesome! Although the night ended with them showing us their guns as they thought we'd appreciate it.... Wished I hadn't beaten them at that point
