So, which harness did you get? The 5 plug one or the 3 plug one, and does it work with the VVTI tiptronic ECU? I got 8000's and they're fine from the laws point of view (so far). In hindsight I would have gone for the 6000's because the 8000's are very slightly blue.

I'm not a fan of sparks either.... Have you tried swapping the ballasts around so that the driver ballast is on the passenger side and vice versa?

Slightly off topic, but don't forget to set up the channels to maximise efficiency. You should use 1,6 and 11 to ensure efficiency. It's the only combination that allows 3 channels. I had a weird issue with my HID lights and when I called the chap to ask him, he told me to plug the connector into the standard loom the WRONG way around (the clip no longer engaged in this position). I thought he was daft/mad/etc but he assured me that it would be fine and offered to send me another ballast if it didn't sort the issue or damaged the ballast. Can you believe it worked.....!
