  1. Update: All, it was just a flat battery. There was no spark at all at terminals. Put it on 15 mins power charger normally used for giant wagons and up and running fine. I take it my immobiliser, alarm, satnav, road angel, boost controller and fuel/air gauge must drain quite a bit of power from a 8-9 year old battery!!!! Terminals were also slightly dodgy. All sorted now. Chris Wilson's gonna source and fit me a new battery on Monday during service so looking forward to a 'faultless' car! Cheers for your help all.
  2. When it's up and ready mate I'd love to go for a quick spin. Never been in a Single Supra before and really want to test one out. I live in West Midlands area and am hoping there's someone nearby so I can think about a single convo. Good luck buddy. Here's wishing you a truly 'solid' driving experience.
  3. That's shocking. How on earth can this chav and his scum matey chavster posters think they live on such a completely different planet? I might go pay him a visit with a crowbar.
  4. .....oh great! Looks like my original thoughts of nothing's ever easy have come true again! Cheers.
  5. Thanks Kamikaze. Hopefully it's just the battery that I will replace with an uprated one. Not very technically proficient so replacing the starter motor with a bit of my DIY would probably end up in complete car failure! Here's hoping it is just the battery. It does clicks over multiple times. Cheers. Greg
  6. They do indeed do home starts so very pleased with that! Cheers all.
  7. Cheers guys. Didn't really have a problem starting before, then again, sometimes it blipped out and wouldnt start first time....occassionally second. Do you think it could be something more serious or am I relatively 'safe' with the battery, alternator......possibly starter motor? So frustrating, even though it's such a tiny thing and I shouldnt be complaining I know! Thanks all. Appreciate your help.
  8. This is a joke. I keep my car on the drive right outside my front window, and although I shouldn't technically disclose such information, I do have a Glock 8mm by my bed side...........blank firer of course but that backed up with a few shots from my PT80 Gamo semi-automatic pistol should scare the fukers away. Even if I take one of them down, I have a loving brother who's a tree surgeon who also owns a delightful selection of chainsaws and a chipper. I'm going to plant a PC Vid camera now downstairs in the dining room window facing car just in case. This has got to stop. Revenge will be sweat pal. Just bide your time and wait for the perfect moment. i.e./ Laughing at him/her when they've crashed, are burning in their car and are reaching out for help. That would be bliss. As quoted in SPR "Don't shoot, let 'em burn!" Good luck buddy.
  9. Hi all, Was driving Supra last night without any probs. Came to start her this morning and the dash lights just flicker and it makes a ticking noise. Doesn't seem to turn over though. If I try and start it the SatNav switches offer too so i'm thinking it has to be a power loss. Spoke to Chris Wilson (booked in for a service this coming Monday) and he believes it must be the battery. Cou;d also be a poor alternator, or more annoyingly, a bust started motor. Gonna try and jump start it later as didn't have time. Just wondered if the breakdown cover you take out with Sky covers home fault diagnosis and whether I can get them to test electrics and resolve? Any other ideas on how I can get her started? I'm away all weekend so this really is a must do by tomoz! Cheers all! Greg:rolleyes:
  10. Don't worry mate i'm carp at cars too. Everyone starts as a newbie at some point. Mine was already fitted but is a Greddy Turbo Timer. Not sure what spec. Literally has a 1min or 3 min cool down setting. Turn it to the appropriate time depending on minor fast driving or track racing and bobs your uncle, fanny is certainly not your aunt, all is sorted. Other members will give you better recommendations, but Greddy seems to be good.
  11. Thanks Pete and I shall remain aware Gatso!
  12. I can get a letter from my Dads company 9insurance broker) proving I'm on their fleet policy and have been accident free so hopefully that'll suffice. Thanks Martin and Supra-Dupra for your advice. Your right about starting an insurance company Matt. It's called re-insurance when two insurers combine policy wordings and cover and it's normally massive. Often claims can literally be in the 100 millions hence the reinsurance need. I work for the development team at Zurich and we've just had a claim come through which is off the scale! Banks do operate insurers, but not across the board. HSBC is the largest invester of insurers as is RBS who own Direct Line etc. All a large commercial loop!
  13. Hi Steve, Can you add me please pal - first Supra meet! - and I can confirm I will be there. Let me know payment details. Cheers Greg
  14. Hi all, Heard loads of people saying "I've done somke BPU work" or "I'm now fully BPU". I know this stands for Basic Performance Upgrades but that's as far as my knowledge takes me! Can somebody please explain what BPU mods there are and a bullet point on what each does? Would be great for other noobs too. Thanks guys! Greg;)
  15. Hi all, Got a HKS Super Dragger Full Decat system fitted. Need a CAT to pass MOT later next year. Anyone got one for sale, spare or that I could borrow! Also what's best. Fitting the 1st or 2nd CAT to pass MOT? Cheers
  16. Don't bother. I had this trouble about trying to find someone mate to service my Supra and everybody literally screamed 'Chris Wilson' who's around this board. He comes highly recommended pal and I've got mine booked in this coming Monday. Don't trust anyone but an expert if you ask me for such a complicated supercar. If I was you i'd hold out and speak to Chris. I'll update you on how my service goes, but I'm 99% confident Chris will do a sterling job mate. Here's his details. Chris Wilson Location:Shropshire, SY13 2BT Email:[email protected] Home / work : 01948-841581 Mobile : 07971-952084
  17. Depends on what your insuring, just Motor or EL, PL, PI, BI etc. For motor you would have to get an indemnity limit agreed and obviously limit the number of policies held based upon your financial capacity.
  18. As mentioned previously, the highest offer made by MIDNIGHT tonight gets it so keep checking back!
  19. Thanks Chris. Seeing as i've managed to track you down here, what's the plan for Monday - are you really busy or can you do the car within the day? I only ask so I can get a lift back if you need to keep it for longer. If so and I can get the car back Monday evening should I send the injectors to you now to be cleaned and fitted, or if not just bring them along on Monday? Cheers again Chris. See you then. Greg.
  20. The FSA do regulate the Insurance Industry. I work for Zurich Commercial Insurance so it's quite ironic that I could now be losing my 2-years NCB even though i'm an insurer! This world sucks.
  21. Yes mate I mean't it as "This could be a major problem with (My policy) with Sky Insurance', not them. Thanks for your kind clarification.
  22. Set a thread up about this quite recently Matt. Check below mate. I've got an Auto TT with Full decat, Induction, boost controller set at 0.7 and 2 new hybrids. I reckon I can crack the 5 sec mark although haven't tried yet. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=77543
  23. Hi all, Right first off, Sky Insurance rock! Their service is second to none and I'm pretty sure they're the quickest people alive in answering a ringing telephone, a good 20 seconds quicker than dialling 999! They're very well priced and everybody should definitely turn to them for their car policies. Anyway, here lies my 'possible' problematic situation. I've got a Supra TT Auto, am 23 years old and have 2 years NCB. Everything is great and I got a nice competitive quote around the 1k mark. Now the problem. I was insured with Direct Line from 2000-2002 on my old G-reg Fiesta and earnt 2 years no claims discount. Then, I went to university and sold my car as didn't need it. Since 2003 I have been driving my fathers car, ranging from his 525 03 plate BMW estate through to his 06 plate Nissan X-Trail. I am covered under fully comp as I'm on his company fleet policy. I was also insured on a newer R reg Fiesta in 2004 but not under my own name. So, when I phoned direct line to ask for a NCB certificate they said they'd send me one but it wouldn't be any good as it will of expired and insurers won't accept it! Apparently any NCB that hasn't been used for 2 years expires. Not good. I explained the situation that I was at uni and didn't need a car but drove my fathers frequently nearl every weekend and in the holidays. They didn't care but I'm now insured with Sky who are better so either did I. However, do I now need to prove to Sky that I have been driving for the last 4 years so I can keep my 2 NCB, or will they just reject it anyway. I haven't had a single claim in my 6 years of driving on both my own and dads company policy. I feel it's totally unfair that people can lose their entire NCB even if they've been driving WITHOUT their own policy but haven't made any claims. Any advice as to how approach this, or if Sky read this your comments too would be most appreciated. Help!! Thanks all. Greg
  24. Hi all, and hopefully Chris! Anyone know if Chris has the capacity to clean injectors? I know he's the man for pretty much everything, just wondered if I should bring them to him on Monday for my cars service or not bother. They're 550 INJECTORS. Think they're pretty new but need to be cleaned and flow tested. Is ultrasonic cleaning more expensive and can someone explain a little about it...............and what injectors do!!! A supra noob me is not surprisingly! Cheers Greg
