I recollect reading somewhere that these things just alter the fuel/air mixture... Is this true?

It seems to me that they only put these prices up to "deter" people on products that people will not, or can not give up. They know that it will generate more revenue as sales will not really be affected. I know I personally will carry on buying beer etc unless they whack the prices up ridiculously. Maybe we should start a revolution...

I must admit, listening to the news this morning made me realise that the government attack every problem (binge drinking, "climate change" etc) with the same stick; put prices up to stop people doing things... Shame they are the kind of things that people don't stop doing
