Oh Gaz perhaps you and I should buy a bike each, I think someone is trying to tell us that modded cars are not for us !
  2. If you are going to drive around with a high pressured cylinder of NOS would you not want it in a container designed for the purpose and carrying the correct safety symbols and valves
  3. i dont think you would want 8's up front and on the rear, the 235 rear tyre is a little narrow, they are very cheap as well, have you seen the quality in person ?
  4. RPS street strip clutch and standard fly, no noise from this set up
  5. I think adding a turbo is the only way you get real gains, Nic does a very nice looking manifold that releases a few horses and a de cat would help, any big gains are difficult and expensive otherwise
  6. 850 rpm with 264 cams and AEM , well it did anyway
  7. Knight Racer fitted mine from this supplier and a fair bit of adjustment and cutting was required, they used a hot knife I understand? Also some of my kit contained left hand parts Looked nice when fitted though
  8. I think it is am Auto mate I would have made an offer otherwise as they are selling for 2K each at the moment !
  9. I am going up to the car tomorrow to take many detailed pictures as this kind of failure should not have been allow to happen, the det and temps would have been obvious and I need some true second opinions before I take it further
  10. Well opened up my engine today and its all a big mess, melted piston on #2 cylinder and the head damaged beyond repair, so a new engine needed
  11. I saw Private Piles car all be it with a built engine and greddy intake make well over 600 with the same turbo and pump fuel, did Dan explain why the numbers seem a little on the ' low ' side, perhaps he was being cautious
  12. I think the high boost for Gaz was 1.4 bar, Gaz??
  13. does your manifold have heat wrap ?? I think we have very similar spec apart from my turbo Mine made 570 BHP engine hp at 1.4 bar but then it went pop after so there is not much point in big numbers if you break it I would be asking to get it wrapped though to prevent heat damage to pipes and electrical wires
  14. Good point, and all going on my valuable experience note pad, you never know by the end of this year I might actually have learnt something 1. JUN 3.2 not HKS 3.4 2. No new block needed if not damaged 3. Dont run 1.75bar through a standard engine on 97ron 4. Black is the best and fastest colour
  15. He was looking at the BC kit or the HKS 3.4L I have just read up on those and some interesting issues, the 3.4 does not seem to deliver all that much gain for the money and can be a weak crank if you read the guru's words
  16. The head comes off tomorrow morning but no compression on 1,2 and 3 cylinder I would purchase a new short block for a JUN kit, no point adding such quality to a 'damaged' block http://www.junauto.co.jp/products/cylinderblock-part/crankshaft/2jz.html?en
  17. This maybe the quickest way back to getting up and running again and e bay has 3 engines for sale at present all at £800 - £1000 mark, this would give me time to get the build together, the 3.2 JUN kit does seem to have all the right very high quality parts ?
  18. I am just investigating all my options really as I have found myself in the position of having to rebuild (or just drop in a second hand engine perhaps) , the stroker delivered that bit extra power in the R32 and gave a slightly quicker spool, besides I would be telling porkies if I did not want one just to be the first
  19. The 3.2L JUN kit looks very interesting, my R32 was running a JUN stroker and was putting out 735bhp with a HKS T04Z single
  20. Continuing on from my engine failure. Is anyone on here running one of these ready built engines? I wonder what the HKS 3.4 stroker built engine is like for quality? will it just drop in with a recon head and a set of 264 cams, I have all of the supporting mods already on the car?
  21. Yes, but dont run 1.75bar just incase
  22. Why not wait and get the money together for the turbo as well and have the job done in one go, that way you only have the mapping costs for one turbo and you have the spec running in with the correct set up from start ? Perhaps you should do it the other way round and go single with the stock engine, it is able to handle 550 no problem, and do the build when you have the funds
  23. I am not sure Sam would be impressed being called a top bloke even if she does get her hands dirty
