2. I run 36psi all round on my 19"s
3. I think Weston Motorsport in Shirley (near you) provides this service
4. Might be worth buying one first and seeing how you get on, how do you know you need more power ?
5. Your happy and its working well isnt that all that matters
6. Managed to find through this forum a previous owner of my car and had a good chat with him around the history, it is great to fill in some gaps and get to hear what a well know car it was back in 1999 to 2003, thought I would share the pics I think if you click on the car you can see others ! not so good at picture hosting ! http:/ http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/25417465762.jpg http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/25417465657.jpg http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/25417465654.jpg http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/25417465630.jpg
7. Looks great, nice colour, I would remove the eyebrows Good luck and welcome
8. 1. get my car working 2. keep my car working
9. I have been wondering this week while waiting for my rebuild and the ££££ 's of mapping to come why no company has developed an ECU able to self map ? I maybe way out here so waits to be shot down but with Jet aircraft almost flying themselves these days and fault finding computers on these planes reporting and adjusting systems during flight why a cars fuelling and timing can not be adjusted by the ECU leanring as you drive it, I know every car will have a different spec but the end results as far as AFR's are all very similar no? For example if you plugged in the new ECU and started the car the ECU would read AFR, timing etc, then on a small screen you punched in the required boost setting perhaps even some spec details and then while driving and following instruction from the screen you slowly build boost and the ECU learns and adjusts as you go? Science fiction??? Maybe I need to get my car back to stop my mind wondering like this, its dangerous
10. I feel for Matt as he seems to have placed a lot of good faith with the 'pros' as I did, and like myself seems to have limited knowledge of these cars workings (sorry Matt if I am wrong ) So when you take it to a mapper and tell them you want as much BHP as possible (as I did) with a 'safe' map (as I did) you then would and should expect the mappers to inspect the car to check it is all running ok first, and in Matts case there was a big question on the turbos and as a mapper I would have thought that they should have told Matt that IF they are not instructed to take apart and investigate the exact turbos then mapping to 1.4 bar was not 'safe' and could cause a failure ? just my point of view as when these things go wrong the mappers are quick to wash their hands of blame
11. Feel your pain Matt and understand your feelings, mapping on a RR places such stress on the car and highlights any weakness, I hope you get it sorted soon
12. I visit my parents in Solihull a couple of times a month and would be up for a meet, Weston motorsport have always got something going on at weekends, I have been to a couple of RR days there and they were good fun
13. I only have ' No nails' and a big hammer in my tool box no screwdrivers so I feel a group buy coming on
14. Nice, Miami GT do these and I have always been tempted but they are a bit on the pricey side and dont add and BHP
15. I going to chuck my single in the bin then, what a waste of money !! Off to place an add in the wanted section, stock twins wanted Only joking mate and welcome to the forum, did you get a dyno graph by any chance ?
16. Yes I will be sticking with the AEM, cant justify the cost at the moment, and think the AEM will do me just fine for what I need
17. One con is they rattle like a bag of spanners when depressed at traffic lights etc, unless you are in the know people stare at you like it is broken !
18. What are the hidden costs to the link system or is everything there apart from the mapping ? I guess it is plug and play as AEM, does it run NOS, Twin Fans, Anti Lag, Boost control, Water injection ? What price does an almost new AEM fetch? Cant belive I am looking at ECU's again !
19. Hi, a search for single builds on here will give you a better understanding of what is required, either of these turbos will require an ECU upgrade, fuelling upgrade, Clutch upgarde perhaps looking at engine internals as well as these are pushing big power I remember HOMER posting this list, it is quite an eye opener ! Here is the breakdown of the MINIMUM cost you can do a conversion to a BL T67dbb. I've searched around and think I've found the cheapest suppliers on all parts. Some comments on these costs: 1) It assumes you are starting from a basic TT 6spd (auto will be much more) 2) The dbb is only around $300 more expensive to complete than the non dbb version and only $400 more than a T61. 3) This assumes the installation is done by a professional and that £800 labour is charged (It will be more if every item is fitted by a professional) 4) You don't get caught by IR on the import from the US Here's the list in case you don't have Excel: BL T67dbb single kit Boostlogic T67dbb turbo Boostlogic Manifold Boostlogic downpipe (3inch) Boostlogic mid pipe (3inch) HKS 50mm Wastegate K&N Breather 2x 1 1/2 inch silicon connectors 1x 4inch silicon connector 4inch AEM ait filter 4inch intake pipe 2inch screamer pipe 2 1/2 inch IC pipe Oil feed and return kit 3inch v-band clamp Nuts and bolts for turbo and sreamer pipe 6x jubliee clips (various sizes $4,049.00 £2,730.24 Additional conversion parts Boostlogic Water line kit £150.00 HKS SSQV $205.95 £138.87 HKS aluminium flange £35.00 3/16in T piece (x3) (for boost lines) £8.21 3/16in boost hose (5m) £15.50 Hose support 0.25 ID (x4) £3.62 Exhaust Wrap (6m) £9.80 Wrap ties (x6) £6.00 Water neck male weld on flange £5.95 Fueling Aeromotive FPR $147.00 £99.12 Walbro fuel pump $125.00 £84.29 Power Enterprise 800cc drop-in £450.00 Injector flow testing £90.00 FPR gauge £15.00 Fuel hose -6 (1m) £4.00 Breathers 1/2in braided breather hose (0.5m) £10.53 -10 hose finisher (x2) £11.70 Electronics Blitz SBC ID-III Boost controller $529.00 £356.70 2.5 bar MAP Sensor £50.00 Gauges AEM UEGO gauge $279.90 £188.74 Greddy 60mm boost gauge $192.00 £129.47 ECU PowerFC ECU £500.00 Drivetrain Southbend Kevlar clutch £450.00 Intercooler Greddy 3 row FMIC $1,469.00 £990.55 Service items Silkolene ProS 15w50 11 litres £120.00 Toyota Oil filter (x2) £17.37 Sump plug gasket (x2) £1.83 NGK BCPR7ES (x12) £28.00 Toyota red coolant (10 litres) £32.50 Exhaust gasket £92.00 Gasket paste £4.95 Blue sealant £3.95 Water neck gasket £2.45 Fuel filter £31.95 Labour Single Fitting £800.00 Clutch fitting £120.00 Mapping £250.00 Welding (Aluminium) £20.00 Taxes & delivery from MVP Guestimated & assumes you don’t get caught by IR £400.00 Possible extra parts Gearbox oil Axle oil New underpants Total £8,458.29
