  1. What a shame it came to this, these cars can be VERY frustrating, I have my fair share of experience in that department , I had a trip to mapping on Tuesday, had some issues during mapping that sees me only get to 0.8 bar, Ryan was very helpful in advice during and after the mapping session, I drive to ACE win best car on the day :D:D[OOPS][/OOPS], then on the way home get odd AFR's and a rough engine idle, first thing I do is book it in and get it on a trailer as I dont want to risk the engine OR breaking down on the public highway knowing there was an issue, this as you can imagine is very annoying but these things happen sometimes and you have to get them sorted, I fully understand why you would want to take your car to ACE, I really wanted to be there to but if the car is not right you need to get it fixed first if it could cause an issue to other road users If at any point my engine builder (Phoenix) or mapper tells me it is best not to take/use the car, I would never consider risking it otherwise you put the company in a very awkward situation if something goes wrong Hope you get your car sorted soon
  2. Best of luck Gaz, it should put some very expensive exotica to shame
  3. The AEM is running the fans and they run a lot in traffic, gave the car a warm up tonight and the signs point to the alternator for sure, turn on lights, fans etc and the cabin lights go dim and the AFR's go leaner Matt I have the car coming to you tomorrow via Les, a guy Mark has used at Phoenix
  4. Vacuum lines look fine, after running through the symptoms with Ryan it could be the alternator as I did have a slight starting problem come from knowhere last night at ACE also, the poor current would cause the injectors to be erratic and this would in turn cause the AEM to try to compensate, this would cause the swinging AFR and on low speed a lean mix, as I was stuck in traffic the twin fans would have been on along with the lights, stereo etc and so would have shown up issue , I will check connectors to battery and alternator tonight but looks like it may need a new one, so I need two things How much is a new alternator ? Can anyone suggest a trailer to take my car to AFR from Purfleet in Essex, I have tried one company Matt suggested but he cant do it for a couple of weeks
  5. *Waits for CW to come along and tell you that you should have left it with stock fan*
  6. Cheers for the advise, I am going to go to bed and look tomorrow, as it has been a long day
  7. Great night again, well done Lui, nice to meet so may members this time, great that the car did so well, it got so excited it decided to give me a hard time on the way home
  8. here only these http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/18218015786.jpg http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/5/13011190242.jpg
  9. I have had a quick look thats all to be honest, not really sure what I am looking for, I have checked turbo intercooler pipes and they are all ok, the vacuum pipes are they on the inlet manifold ?
  10. After an eventful day of mapping and ACE cafe meet I was on my way home when stuck in traffic the car started to idle hunt then stutter and the AFR's started swinging about on the lean side, I continued on my way and nursed the car at very low revs home trying to keep the AFR's in the 14's, they wanted to go lean, I noticed the vacuum gauge on the turbo boost was sitting lower than normal on overrun and struddled to make boost, however I did not push it, the fuel pressure was all ok, got the car home but it was not very happy with a hunting idle What can I look for, there does not seem to be any boost pipes loose
  11. Mark from Phoenix is coming over to fit it tonight
  12. Just fitted this from Whifbitz, I had an Isotta before but I like the hand feel of suede with this wheel Its the MOD 80 and is about £150 without the boss
  13. Would be more like this with me doing it Open shed, find the 3-4 spanners I own, clean the rust off them, open bonnet, remove headlights, damage wires, cut fingers, loose nuts and bolts, get bumper off, start removing core, run out of talent call for help, go to the pub
  14. Core only the pipework is HKS already, I have a fill set of HKS pipes with the typeR just incase
  15. I dont have a clue with spanners and knowone could fit me in anywhere at such short notice, would be willing to pay anyone who fancied doing it for me before 9am tomorrow
  16. I am meeting RyanG at SRR tomorrow morning for a mapping session on my car, just over one year since the car made any boost I can't wait to get the single power back again, may not get it all done tomorrow as I have a new HKS TypeR intercooler I have to fit (4 row XS power at the moment) and may be restricted a bit by intake temps especially as it looks like it will be a warm day I get so nervous before mapping sessions, I actually hate watching my car on rollers at full chat, hope to see some good results tomorrow however then on to ACE cafe
  17. Last bump before ebay, thought this would get snapped up by AEM owners
  18. Gaz are you sure it was coldflames engine as he was running a T04Z not a T51 SPL ?
  19. Gaz Coldflame was running a HKS T04Z not a T51 SPL so not sure it is his car
  20. No I have one fitted already Got all the pipe work and a HKS BOV which will be for sale soon with my XS 4 row intercooler very soon
  21. They dont make the super dragger anymore but I know where a new one is for sale
