  1. Ok to spend upto 25K or so, no TVR's been there done that, it spent way to much time broken
  2. She passed an Auto only driving test I am happy to get her a runaround and I get a manual , you just did not hear that from me I test drove an Esprit some years ago, I hear horror stories about the reliability, I also feel they have not aged that well, not a true classic ?
  3. Chris, I have been looking through the classic car mags for weeks, I like many of the old Ferrari's, E-type Jags, 456 Ferrari's but having an Auto limits the choice somewhat This will not be a daily driver, it will be a toy and I am done with Supras/skylines, had too many Is the 3500 Maserati or 456 Ferrari a no no ?
  4. Cancelled the purchase, thanks for the advice Back to the drawing board, perhaps I should get someting else altogether, I do want something "classic" and unusual
  5. http://www.aerocatch.com/
  6. 86,000 Auto, has to be, her in doors cant drive a manual [sAD][/sAD]
  7. Aero catches look much better but are not easy to fit They give piece of mind with aftermarket bonnets in that they prevent it opening at high speed, aero catches also have a lock on some of them as an option which makes the bonnet more secure
  8. are your heater matrix pipes all secure and watertight at the back of the engine, I had a leak from one of these in my first Supra ??
  9. FULL PSH I know its a lot of money, would be looking to negociate this down somewhat, it comes with a full 12 month warranty I am feeling less excited now I have to say !!
  10. Almost 9K which is a lot for one of these, they are out there for way less but that worries me with such an expensive machine !
  11. Thanks for such a detailed reply Sounds just like owning a Single Supra then I have full expectations that it will burn cash if it goes wrong, I am hoping the car is one of the better ones looking at the service history it has ! I still think it will be cheaper to maintain than the Ferrari 456 or the Maserati ? As for fuel, I have been driving a E55 AMG for a few months and I have never seen fuel consumption like it, dreadful ! I do feel your post has given me a little more knowledge to perhaps help get the price down a little more
  12. For just an NA service I would not be looking to travel miles and miles and pay high "tuner" prices, its not rocket science after all, there must be a good local garage by you somewhere
  13. MMmm you are right, some real expensive horror stories if you look for them, service history is the key I think, a lot of these have been through many many owners and they are not looked after, this is were the problems start This one has a full 12 month warrenty with the garage I will do less than 4000 mile a year and I can't see it depreciating much further if I look after it, saying that I never keep anything for long !!
  14. Drive one years ago, not that quick but I love the retro looks I looked at several options 456 Ferrari and a Masarati 3500 but the Porsche won me over, wont be a daily driver
  15. I have agreed a purchase of a 1991 Porsche 928 S4 1991 with only 86,000 miles from a Porsche dealer this week, have I purchased a legend or have I a lot to worry about, I have owned a 911 and 944 and found them to be great fun, as my GF can only drive an Auto this seemed like a good option for fun and power with an auto box, good idea or bail out ??
  16. Nice looking car, sure that catches a few people out !!
  17. Ok one last punt as I pick up the new car this weekend.... this is selling at a big loss and a crazy E55 AMG price, remember just serviced, 10 months MOT and 10 Months Tax !! £3450 !!
  18. Have to agree, having had a few cars resprayed the finish of fresh black paint (or any paint!) is amazing,it makes the car look almost new again, especially if you add new headlights any excuse !!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  19. Can pick up this weekend if he accepts my offer
  20. Looking like the usual quality Dave, superb, it is a shame you dont continue to offer this service, perhaps you should and just make the cost worth while to yourself, if you want quality you will be willing to pay ?
  21. True, and the reason I was making high 12's not 11's I have always said I dont like the 6 speed box much, the longer gear stick made it easier to live with for me
  22. 10K opens many options in the current market, that is what makes it so difficult
  23. I remember chatting to Gaz from Envy on this subject, 400 BHP is not far from the stock limit if I remember rightly, a long way from the Supra stock limits
  24. Something taller works well as the throw becomes easier with a larger gear stick
