  1. I have had a couple of units from these guys, they are very cheap BUT they are all show and no go, the controls are always very un-user friendly
  2. Actually quite a few of them that come up for sale have been sprayed white for just this reason I dont want a white one though, I want the Eastend gangster look
  3. Thanks for this, Guess I was just confirming what I already knew ! I can not see me buying an MGB now after seeing the MKII, it is such an iconic car with the ultimate classic looks for me The leather I am not so worried about, it is the ability to get mechanical work done myself !
  4. Starting to show my age I guess before you all start !! I have been on the search for a classic car for some time, first of all looking at E types, then coming down to an MGB or TR6, both of which I have seen a plenty, anything from a rust bucket full on project to a mint example The reason I looked at the MGB is that I feel I could tackle the work myself in most cases as they are a very simple design with lots of parts and info and a simple engine, job done I guess, however...... I really want to forfill the dream of maintaining a car myself with nothing more than a "How to" book and a keen willingness to learn I went to view an MGB this weekend and the garage had a MKII JAG 3.4 in very good condition, I just loved the look of the car, a real head turner and a true classic that would be far more use than an MGB in terms of seat numbers and practicality of a larger boot (for the golf clubs) Has anyone got any thoughts on the MKII Jag, are they easy to work on or would it be a step too far, the mechanicals looked simple enough all be it more complex than the MG's A series engine, I guess parts would be more of a challenge and expensive Thanks in advance
  5. They can not be real cars for sale, I would go with some finance stunt, there seems to be a lot of info on finance
  6. I am having a built in wardrobe fitted in a few weeks so the decorating needs to start in our bedroom, I have these 3 Next units that have to go, they cost me well over £1000 just over 4 years ago, looking for £300 for all 3 !!m will split if required but they are all the same style and hold loads of stuff shame to split them up Now I have to mention the medium unit has a damaged support bar which has caused the drawers to become a bit stiff, I am sure it can be fixed, it has never bothered me The units are on a 2nd floor bedroom so will need to be partially dismantled to get them to the front door !, they are very solid and therefore heavy, would need a van IMO Sizes are Small 60cm deep, 80cm deep and 72 cm high Medium 60cm deep, 150cm wide and 72 cm high Large 60cm deep, 150 am wide and 195cm high collect from Purfleet Essex, willof course help with the loading
  7. I drive a very nice R32 GTR on loan for a month a few years ago, it was running a nice twin HKS set up and about 550 BHP,it was fully stripped out, it was SO NOISY and the the lightweight race seats were just so uncomfortable, no stereo, no air con, put me off stripping out the comfort for ever! Unless I had a dedicated track car I would get a test drive in a stripped out car first to see if you can live with it !
  8. Been discussed loads and if you searchyou will find everything you need mate, including the weights lost Seats changed to lightweight units rear seats jack spare wheel stereo air con lighter wheels carbon bonnet etc etc Some have taken it to the extreme, very much the best way to make your NA quicker, thing is you will end up with a very noisy car
  9. The seals have gone in those headlights causing them to have condensation, it looks rubbish IMO sorry, your car would look much sharper with a set of UK lights instead, here is my red NA Dave did for me just to show you the difference it makes before after
  10. Best. My Black Jspec single Supra Most fun. TVR S2 (when it worked) Best for pure speed and power. R32 2.7 Jun Stroker Best handling. 2002 WRX STI Scooby Best head turner. Eiter my citrine yellow R5 Turbo (I was 19) or The Camaro with straight through pipes Worst.Fiat Uno
  11. If you put one of those little Halfords jobbies in your car it will only be good for putting out a fag burn and making a complete mess of the interior with the white powder which you may not know is attracted to static electricity and will get into everything including all the electrics and cause havoc I would get a commercial CO2 from Chubb if you dont want plumbed in, the CO2 will not be 100% effective on burning petrol however but it will not make a mess of everything trying, you could have a small powder just incase I guess as back up
  12. When my T04R engine let go on the dyno I went built with Mark at Phoenix, it took a year to get it back, get a stock lump in, you know you can give it the beans and be ok, if it fails put another stock block in, I would never go built again, a set of ARP bolts and cams perhaps at most Least you have a 911 Turbo as a back up
  13. What does Lee think it is that is causing it, he fired the car up right ?
  14. Its on Sky news now, high speed 'police camara action' style chase through dense undergrowth and hedges
  15. Fastest car in the world is a friends car and no owner in sight
  16. Sorry to hear this Jay, I am all to aware of the feeling and the want to push it into a corner and take stock for a while, you had it almost perfect IMO, as you know it is one of my fav cars on here, hope you get it sorted, I would stick with a good stock engine, forget a rebuild, they yake forever and cost a fortune and dont always give reliability Would be very interested in seeing what went wrong inside as it has not been built that long has it ?
  17. You can drive let face it, no blowing wind up your a** either you just have a good skill level, better than mine and you use the full BHP the car delivers You also seem to want to own the fastest and most powerful street car in the UK if possible and you have the finance to do it, that is great for the club and creates interest, I have not owned a Supra for months but still stay around as I think the club is great, full of characters willing to push the boundries and get some awesome power figures from an old jap sports GT , I will watch with interest what you manage to gain in power We have come a long way from the TF days
  18. Look forward to reading it, I wish I had such a reference way back in the day, I have learnt the hard way and only now with several cars and lessons learnt the car spec that suits me and my skill/driving style I think it will be a very useful tool I have been to many a rolling road session with this club where disappointed faces have come out of the dyno cell at 340-400 BHP,this number is disappointing only because of the BHP bug, this level of power if huge compared to most club dyno days, I have been to a few ! I also know there is a limit to pump fuel and a 3 litre engine, the quest will reach a peak, what then excites me and provides the interest
  19. I dont really care where anyone comes from as long as they do their best to work and to pay their way, there are plenty of brits that dont follow this principle ! I have my parents living in Spain, they are retired and will never give anything back to the country other than their brummy attitude to life and my dads handy man skills , they went there as the weather and lifestyle are better than here, good luck to them, thing is Spain welcomed them and I expected them to do so, we own a villa there also which we use as and when we need, in fact I am going over to play golf next week, not to contribute just take This world is no longer big enough to segregate, I paid a fortune in tax this year and the lazy repulse me but I welcome all to this county if they contribute and I would expect the same if I travel
  20. Could be one of the best posts I have read and should be read by anyone wanting to chase the BHP monster and looking to spend the tens of thousands a good single car can cost I have chased big BHP, seen stupid road power well over 700BHP BUT I have to say I drive like miss daisy most of the time and only wanted the cudos of a big UK BHP car, the power once I started getting to 500+ used to scare me half the time,my driving skill was just not really up to it if I am honest, I think this is a factor when you are looking for a quick car, I found that the BPU Supra is the perfect compromise, quick, fast spool, reliable and easy to live with I love big BHP power cars but I dont see me really doing it again (have owned several single turbo cars),I fancy low end torque from a V8 Still very interested in the quest for power and what a 3 litre engine can deliver, I have to say I am also a little sad not to be involved but that is soon forgotten with the thought of the expense in the past
  21. The incredible pain of listening to your wife/family/kids around you and you have no way of moving, communicating, just locked in a lifeless body until something fails and you die, that is hell on earth IMO and I would not wish that on my worse enemy. Your family only get one shot at life too and would you have them spend it sat next to you in a vegative state year after year or would you like them to grieve the loss and move on with their lives
  22. Does it mean he is experiencing any form of quality of life or is he locked in a broken body until the day his organs give up, scary stuff if you are aware of the world around you
  23. Yep, looks like you have to keep the L plates until you have a full license http://www.begin-motorcycling.co.uk/
