  1. Could go either way round, happy to come over to Clacketts Lane services
  2. knowone from essex going, or knowone want to be seen with a middle aged chap in an old Corvette
  3. Had a scooby from New for 2 years Dave, a 2002 WRX, fantastic car, really nice drive and 4 good seats
  4. I am suggesting you sell that NA and get one to, in yellow with DW Services down the side
  5. Well I have driven a lot of cars in my time and now the Corvette is finished I find myself getting in this every time, not something I can say about the single Supras and Skylines I have owned, the daily driver (2010 200C Merc) has been ignored every day The C4 Corvette is such a joy to cruise in, it handles traffic with easy with the lazy Auto box, it is comfortable and with the full De Cat sounds awesome and turns heads everywhere, was the best £3500 K I have every spent on a car If you fancy some summer roof off fun and a bit of American muscle I fully recommend you get one
  6. Anyone interested in heading off to the Wheels in motion day in a convoy, I will of course not be in a Supra but would be great to join in with a few of you, it makes the trip more interesting As the day starts at 10am it would not need an insane early start, perhaps a 8.30 am meet at Lakeside services on Jnt30/31 M25 We could leave at 8.45 - 9am and take a steady drive round
  7. 6K for NA Auto to 600BHP Single is not going to happen so you need to think about your goals again For a true 600 BHP your Auto box would fail Get to BPU and enjoy as you have to think about suspension, brakes etc etc along with extra power, would be better getting a TT BPU and selling your NA IMO
  8. you will have to ditch the stock twins to get 500 BHP, big money needed compared to a good BPU, I would do that first
  9. Top glove box (which is almost useless!) add a carbon pod, Whifbitz sell them
  10. Cheers, love chatting to classic car lovers, have been to a couple of meets of late and the passion and attention to detail is amazing !, one of the reasons I kept the Vette stock, stock original rules in the classic world and I am starting to get it I have decided to get a 355 now, have just finished the Vette and will start the search for a hard top 355 6 speed this week
  11. Test drove a couple of these a few months ago, as I have reached middle age I am loving classics more and more The ones I tested were a bit tired and around the 15K mark, this is just car porn and looks undriven, lottery winner or rich collector kind of car but I guess worth every penny Why not use one of the exclusive auction houses that sell in Europe, many to be found in the classic car mags, small commision of course but get the right buyers looking who have 90K to spend on a car that will do 100 ish miles a year
  12. 5.5K for an NA Auto, not so pretty at that price IMO
  13. A meet would be great, they have a huge carpark so a Supra section would be easy to arrange They have a series of racing each week and next week the special is Robin Reliant destruction racing
  14. They actually watered the dirt track today to prevent dust
  15. Took my 9 year old daughter to the usual seaside day out yesterday and a nice day it was, Southend in the sun is quite a good day out, but it is easy to spend £100 before you know it Today we woke up with no agenda, so I suggested a day near the river, she was not keen, well I live about 10 mins walk from Essex Raceway at Lakeside shopping centre and have done so for about 5 years, never been, so I suggested it and she agreed, at 12.30pm we left in the Vette to see whats what well.... This place has racing every weekend and has featured on a couple of the Top Gear specials (People carrier and bus racing), it is a very relaxed venue with ample parking, we arrived very early as racing starts at 2pm, we parked up and paid our £18 to get in (£12 adults and £6 child), soon found out it is best to bring your own seat as the only stand has none and the rest is grass and dirt, you can hire a deck chair however for £2 so we did that and it was very comfortable The racing lasted for 3 hours and featured some fantastic exciting stuff including 3 rounds of mini stock racing, 3 rounds of super stock racing (somevery nice fast driving), 3 rounds of banger racing which is great fun and very competative and finally a round of caravan distruction derby I was unsure how my 9 year old girlwas going to take 3 hours of racing but she loved it, the caravan and banger racing made her day, 10 caravans driven to destruction only feet away The circuit is a short oval and has a dirt oval on the inside for speedway, plenty of cheap food and drink, a bar and a great day out, something we will both do again very soon as they race every Sunday Thought I would post up the experience as I dont know about you but things to do with kids (or not in the case of car racing!!) can be tough to find that represent some value and fun for 3 hours +
  16. Best fit the 11 speed box as well then
  17. It does not last very long unless you carry several bottles, which weigh a lot and cost a fortune to fill, not worth it IMO
  18. I fitted a very expensive NOS system all because I wanted it and know nothing about it at all at the time !! NOS belongs in a race environment be it track or drag, it has no place on the street with a BPU Supra, if you us it on the street you are in need of help IMO, it will require a very good set up and has to be filled very often, waste of money unless you have a trophy to win
  19. older mate, C4 not C5, happy to take you out I read a lot of classic car mags, why do people drive old cars with no power, air con etc, beacuse they have a certain class/style and require commitment that gives a special return in terms of satisfaction You will not be impressed with the way it drives but only a drive out will make you know it classic US muscle is for you
  20. For the drivability I fully agree with the latter US muscle, however for sheer fun you cant beat the old stuff, it is so much fun and has so much more soul than the new stuff:)
  21. Too right mate, look forward to the meet The C4 sounds like thunder even though it would get well beat by an NA Supra, has sleak lines even though it is not pretty, and handles like it has been in a major accident I love old US muscle, and as it is as rare to see and hear a big V8 in the UK they do get noticed
  22. No secret I am a big fan of Focals, Matt Harwood fitted them to one of my Supras and I have had them since, Just fitted them again the the Vette, fantastic quality for the money and would fit nothing else in this budget range
  23. I dont, and my missus has the camera in Cyprus, all I can say is that on WOT it makes the 5.0L Camaro sound tame, the rear cat back from Haywood and Scott was OK but the addition of the full de-cat from Dave and John has released that V8 distinct noise from the 5.7L's Will bring the car to the Wheels in motion day, very happy with it at the moment I have to describe a C4 Corvette as one of those cars that can be brought for peanuts but turns heads everywhere and puts a smile on your face every trip which is the benchmark for a good car IMO, even when the car is actually very poor in so many other ways
